Irene has come second in her life for a good five years now, with no one more important to her than her daughter, Lillian. Working her usual 9 to 8 at the local grocery store wasn't what she had in mind for herself, but it's as good as she can get with what she has. She's never asked for anything more when Lillian came into her life, but that manager position did look good, the pay rise even better.
