Moonbyul paces around her apartment looking past all of the case files, trying to figure out how they all connect. She currently is on a call with wheein trying to piece the mystery together.

“Byul? Come here for a sec. I want to show you something. Byul”~Wheein tried saying but Moonbyul’s phone rings.

“We’ll talk later”~Byul said as she hung up on Wheein, picking up the phone

“You got Moonbyul”~Byul answered 

“I got a case for you. Two girls died within minutes of each other, separate locations. One was brought into the morgue. The other is still on scene at Hansung Park.”~Hwasa said forwarding the info to Byul’s phone

“What's the connection?”~Byul asked looking at the profiles for the case

“They were both students at Busan Academy. And it wasn't something they were exposed to on campus. School pathogen sensors, all green. Seemed something heart related”~Hwasa said as Byul began reading the  rest of the report

“I'm on my way.”~Byul said grabbing her jacket

“Solar says you’re at home researching the DNA case, I told you not to go on any further”~Hwasa said making Byul curse under her breath

“.....Catch ya later”~Byul quickly said hanging up. She jumped into her cruiser passing by narrow allies, cracked asphalt, narrow strip of turf either side, and spindly trees. Finally reaching the park seeing a few police officers and Solar standing by

“Okay when the h*ll did you tell Hwasa about what I was doing”~Byul stated as she walked up to Solar

“Good morning to you, too, Byulie.”~Solar responded as she scanned the area, eyes shining blue

“Look, don't ever tell Hwasa where I am, where I was, what time I arrived or what time I left.”~Byul commanded making Solar shake her head

“Captain Hwasa is our commanding officer.”~Solar said while her eyes shifted back to normal

“She's on a need-to-know basis. Protect, serve, cover.”~Byul said winking

“You want me to cover for you, why don't you tell me why we must hide it from Hwasa?”~Solar

“What she don't know can't hurt me.”~Byul

“It's my job to know about you. You're not just a badge number and a questionable haircut.”~Solar said as Byul brushed her long hair

“Well, what we've got? How’d she die?”~Byul asked looking at the dead girl

“Coroner didn't see any signs of poison or allergic reaction to anything, looks like she just dropped dead”~Solar said making Byul shake her head

“Just like Rosè.....”~Byul murmured when she received a call. Pulling out her phone, she didn’t recognize the number at all.

“Hello who is......”~Byul 

“Byul, Hwasa says we’ll be working together I’m at the other site now”~Irene sternly said over the phone making Byul wince. She looked to Solar only to see her begrudgingly nod back.

“Yeah, maybe so.....”~Byul said looking down, rubbing the bridge of her nose gently

“Look I don’t like this and you don’t like this, lets finish this and go back to not talking to each other”~Irene

“You got a cause of death?”~Byul

“Over here they're calling it cardiac arrest.”~Irene

“Which means they don't know. My girl's pupils are fixed and abnormally dilated. How about yours?”~Byul

“They're huge, I've never seen anything like it.”~Irene said inspecting her dead body

“You got anything else?”~Byul said trying to change the subject

“Yeah, but from what I don't know. The hospital ran a standard drug panel. It has over 300 substances on file. My girl came up clean and so did yours I’m presuming”~Irene

“This feels like we’ve hit a roadblock”~Byul

“I sent a blood sample to our lab. If there's something in this girl, we'll figure it out.”~Irene said as Solar come trotting along over

“Hey Byul, the fabric on her pants has some grey tar on it, that substance cannot be obtained anywhere near this school, this is used by construction workers”~Solar stated making Byul think.

“Hey Irene have a synth scan, your victim for grey tar.”~Byul suggested making Irene call for a nearby synth. The scan took a few moments before Irene got anything

“Just got the scan. There's not much here. Byul? You still there?”~Irene asked

“Yeah, yeah, keep going.”~Byul said as Solar stood by her side, connecting herself to the call.

“There is grey tar but also remnants of dried saltwater on the hem of her jeans”~Irene said as Solar’s eyes glowed blue.

“Byul, Detective Irene I’ve cross referenced construction sites near the ocean side and there’s only one that matches it in the Daegu District.”~Solar said making Byul nod her head.

“Forward the address to Irene, Meet us there as soon as possible Irene”~Byul said as Solar’s eyes glowed green

“Race you there Byul”~Irene said before hanging up. Byul and Solar rushed to their patrol car, quickly speeding off. The city blurred into nothing more than a series of store fronts as Byul her siren skipping past all of the red lights.

“You’re taking this race too seriously Byul”~Solar said getting nervous from Byul’s driving speed. The patrol car was knifing through the traffic, it's sleek form weaving between all the vehicles. It was incredibly fast, moving at least 100 kph. Finally reaching the destination, seeing Irene’s car pull up beside her’s.

“Looks like a tie”~Irene chuckled as she got out of her patrol car along with Solar and Byul. The three of them continued their advance into the construction site. The sidewalks were smooth grey stones, joined with such precision that the joins were almost invisible. Walking directly past all of the caution signs passing into the main lobby, it all looked abandoned. The walls were concrete, but not like a construction site; they were more akin to the design of a modernist skyscraper, all sharp edges and corners. The building was nothing short of a monolith, a bastion on the edge of the city. 

“City officials abandoned this site due to unlisted hazards”~Solar uttered as Byul and Irene inspected the surrounding area. Walking off to a side room Byul’s footsteps echoed on the concrete floor, which was maybe once aesthetically pleasing. The stillness of the room sent shivers down her spine. Byul walked forth until her footstep made an echo downward, as if the spot she stepped on was hollow. Byul chuckled as she called over Solar and Irene

“Over Here!”~Byul called out as she punched right through the concrete panel. Revealing a secret set of stairs.

“How’d you figure that out?”~Irene questioned as she readied her gun. 

“Past experience”~Solar said making Byul smile. The three proceeded with caution as Byul led. Solar and Byul had expected another hidden laboratory but to her surprise when they reached the end of the staircase, there was only a big room filled with crates. Solar quickly scanned the immediate area, revealing the contents of the crates to her.

“Byul, Detective Irene these crates contain stolen nitro, ethanol, and diethyl ether”~Solar said as two voices caught the three girls off guard

“Are you sure we can move this all”~Chaeyoung asked as they came into view from behind stacked crates

“Yeah we can we just........”~Dahyun began saying until she saw Byul, Solar, and Irene.

“Ah ”~Dahyun cursed as she and Chaeyoung pulled out guns.
