Ruin The Friendship

“Again, remind me why aren’t you and Jennie dating?” Chaeyoung asks as she observed me from the side as I continued to shoot hoops through the net. I groan in frustration as I wipe the sweat off my face. It’s been 30 minutes and I continued to miss every shot.

Jennie.

That’s all my mind has been on. My best friend, my neighbor, my crush. I huff in frustration and tighten my high pony tail.

“Because chipmunk..” I mock causing her to playfully roll her eyes. I chuckle and grab the ball again,

“She just broke up with her boyfriend and I doubt she feels the same way, plus why would I want to ruin the friendship?” I casually ask as I began to dribble to ball. Chae scoffs,

“Oh please, that relationship was doomed from the beginning. And I never saw your, so called “friend” being as flirty as she is with you.” She points out. I shrug my shoulder,

“She’s a natural flirt, she probably doesn’t even know that she’s doing it.” I casually claim as I make my way towards the bench and flop myself down next to Chae, panting heavily.

“Yeah she’s a flirt, to you and you alone. I would say grow some balls but balls are extremely weak, so grow a stronger and get the !” She confidently demands with a smug smile. 

I roll my eyes and shake my head, not knowing what to say. This girl has a foul mouth. 

Where’s holy Rosy? 

I blame Jisoo.

Before I could respond, a certain brunette entered the basketball court. I look over and beam while swiftly trying to wipe off the sweat from my forehead and neck. Chaeyoung chuckles,

“Whipped.” She mutters. I nudge her side before standing up the moment the feline eyed girl stood in front of us.

“Hey Chae! Hi Lis.” She excitedly greets and goes to hug me but I quickly backed away causing her to frown and furrow her eyebrows in confusion. I chuckle and motion to my sweaty body,

“Don’t want to get you all sweaty Jen. I would wipe it off but I-“ she cuts me off with a light laugh,

“But you forgot your towel again right?” She teasingly asks as she grabs a small face towel from her bag and waves it in front of me. I chuckle and smile sheepishly and go to reach for it but she swiftly swatted my hand away and took a step forward.

“Allow me.” She says with the same gummy smile that never leaves my mind. 

I swallow thickly and quietly nod my head as she reaches up gently brushes my bangs away and begins to wipe off my sweat. She scrunches her nose cutely,

“You keep pushing yourself too hard.” She comments. I let out a throaty chuckle and nod my head,

“Guilty.” I respond. She playfully narrows her eyes towards me before dabbing the towel on my cheek, slowly making her way down my jaw. I gulp nervously as she begins to gently wipe the sweat off my neck. 

The look on her face seemed to change as she stared at my heaving chest and my collar bone glistening in sweat with her lips parted slightly. She flickers her eyes towards mine and gulps,

“Done.” She whispers. And before I could react, a clearing of a throat was made form behind us,

“Not trying to cut the or anything but, I’m going to go see my girlfriend before I third wheel again.” Chaeyoung chuckles out as she grabs her back pack and smiles mischievously towards us before sending us a short salute and leaving the court. 

I roll my eyes and glance back towards Jennie who had a lost look. I chuckle and lower my head eye level towards her and wave my hand in front of her face,

“Is anybody home?” I teasingly ask. She quickly blinks and shakes her head before playfully sharpening her gaze and snatching my hand down with both of her hands and held it in front of her while playing with my fingers,

“Speaking of home, want to come over and watch a movie?” She asks excitedly. How could I say no to that beautiful face? But I smell like feet so I’m going to have to pass. I smile down at her apologetically,

“Sorry little one, I would love to but I smell disgusting and—“

“Just shower at my place.” She simply says. I smile softly and laugh,

“But I don’t have extra clothes..” I drag out. She rolls her eyes and chuckles,

“Just wear my clothes.” She demands. I grin,

“Someone’s needy and persistent to have me over.” I tease. She smirks and takes a step closer and brings our intertwined hands behind her back to wrap around her,

“Like you could ever get annoyed by me.” She teases. I flicker my eyes down to her sly smirk and flicker them back to her playfully eyes. I smirk and place my other hand on her waist,

“I don’t know. I do love my alone time.” I tease back. She chuckles and playfully slaps my arm before pulling back but keeping her hand in mine.
