When they got to the shore it was already dark, the Kim's. Kai's mom, Dad, his sister and her husband Jiyong were all stood by the beach in front of Kai's house. Then there's Jungkook and Baekhyun too. They all rushed toward Sehun, Kai's mom was the first to crouch down next to the merman and pulled him into her arms. His Dad and sister's eyes were on Sehun's tail, as they stared at it in awe. Of course they'd be fascinated, since it was the first time seeing it. Jiyong on the other hand only glanced at it once before shifting his gaze to Sehun's face. "Glad to have you back." Mrs. Kim said. Sehun held her tightly. "Me too mother." She pulled back and Jungkook quickly took that as his chance to hug Sehun too."Damn it, you scared the out of me." He mumbled against Sehun's hair. Sehun giggled. "Good to see too Kook." "Damn you kook, get the hell away from my man, you're smothering him" Kai said, pushing Jungkook away from his fiance not so gently as he bend to carry Sehun into his arms. "Alright, let's take this inside" "Yeah we should head in" Taeyeon said from her spot. They all made their way inside. Kai took Sehun to their bedroom, placed Sehun on the bed and quickly moved to grab a towel from the bathroom. "Let's get you all dry, shall we?" he sat next to Sehun and began to wipe the wetness off his tail. It took a few minutes before Sehun's legs grew again. He grabbed a pair of pants and shirt from his wardrobe for Sehun to wear. As he watched the merman get dressed, Kai couldn't help the amount of love bubbling inside his chest. Kai wished his lover could see inside his soul and feel all he felt for him as it happened; he wished Sehun could hear all the thoughts inside his head which never got to be put into words but express much more deeply, the emotions awoken by every breath he took. Sometimes, what he felt and thought was too strong and complicated and unexplainable to put into words—words seemed too simple and lacking to express such meaningful feelings and emotions. Because that wasn’t possible to the extent he wished it could be. What he felt for Sehun had grown inside of him like a giant sequoia tree, its roots wrapped around his bones and its branches and leaves and flowers flourished and filled the spaces between his organs and ribs and cavities—unrestrained, untamed: a forest of its own.   Sehun turned to face him after he finished putting on his clothes, he took a moment to stare at Kai for a while before he spoke. "What?" Kai blinked. "Huh?" "You're staring at me intensely." The mer said, buttoning up his shirt. "Oh" Kai rubbed the back of his nake sheepishly. "I am just so ing in love with you. And I am glad you came home with me." Sehun smiled at him. "I am glad I followed you too." His hand subconsciously went to cradle his stomach.  Kai moved toward his boyfriend and pulled him into his arms. "I uhm want to ask, you know since your biology is different from ours, how long will it take for you to have our baby?" Sehun smiled against his neck. "Normally it takes 10-11 months for a siren to give birth, and 4 months for a mer but since I am half siren/half mer, I think it will take 6-7 months, at least that how long I lasted in my mother's belly, she's an ordinary mermaid but carried the child of a half siren." Kai hummed, dropping a kiss to Sehun's temple. "I don't know how we're going to do it when the time comes, because I know I am not supposed to take you to a hospital–jiyong hyung is a doctor, he could help but I am afraid he might not know how to since this will be the first time seeing a pregnant male for most of us" he let out a sigh. "But we'll find a way. We'll manage."He promised. Sehun pulled back to look at Kai's face, his hand going to caress his cheek. "I think I know who will help us when the time comes." "You do?" "Yeah, Namjoon's father, even though he's not a Siren, he will know what to do since the two species give birth in the same way." "Oh" Kai let out a relief sigh. "I am glad to hear that." He placed his hand on Sehun's tummy. "Let's go join the others" he dropped a kiss to Sehun's lips. Sehun hummed and the two made their way out. Namjoon, Yoongi and Taehyung were now sat in the living room as well. Sehun's eyes went wide and he rushed toward Taehyung and pulled the other into his arms. "Thanks the sea spirits. I am glad you're okay."  Taehyung hugged him back and nuzzled his neck. Kai frowned unintentionally, eyes sending daggers at the merbrid. He can't help the possessiveness coursing through his body, even though he knew Taehyung was Yoongi's boyfriend. "Relax cowboy, Tae is my boyfriend. " Yoongi reminded, chuckling at Kai's expression. "I am sorry you had to go through that pain" Taehyung said, rubbing Sehun's back gently. "It wasn't your fault." Sehun responded, pulling back to look at Tae's face. "How's your father?" Tae grinned. "He's with my Dad, he– I mean my Dad took the available flight from Japan when i told him what happened– Oh God you need to see Dad and hyung's face when they learned that papa is alive. Dad cried like a baby, he hugged pa so tight, dropping kisses all over his face. And hyung– hyung he–ow" Taehyung stopped abruptly, whining when his brother hit his head to shut him off. "Don't say it, or I swear–" "You don't get to threaten him when I am around" Yoongi said, giving Namjoon a pointed look. "Go ahead baby, tell Sehun how embarrassing your brother was" he encouraged. Taehyung sent a smirk his brother's way. "He–" "Jesus Christ, please don't." Namjoon begged looking around the room with red face. "Spear him Taehyung, don't say it if your brother doesn't want you to. I tell you what? why don't you use that info as blackmail material? like how I've seen my children do to each other sometimes." Kai's Dad said, standing from his seat and moved to where Sehun and Taehyung were. "Now let me hold my son in law, would you?" Taehyung grinned once again, nodding as he stepped aside. "That's not true. Dad, it was Kai that always do that, not me" Taeyeon said in a defensive tone with a slight pout. Mr. Kim only waved a hand at his daughter, as he held Sehun close to his chest, dropping a kiss to the mer's forehead."I am so relieved you're safe." He whispered into Sehun's hair.  Sehun rested his head on the older man's shoulder. "Good to see you too father" he mumbled. Kai smiled at the sight, he felt a hand holding his and he looked down to see his mom smiling at him. "I am proud of you." She told him. Kai slid to sit next to her. Placing his hand on hers. "I've met the mermaid that saved me, well she's not particularly a mermaid but a siren and she happens to be Sehun's grandmother." His mom's eyes widened, "you did?" He nodded. "I did"  "Oh my God. Now that you've mentioned it, I remember seeing a baby mer back then, I even played with him, I never would have thought that baby mer was going to become my son in law 21 years later. Is this some kind of destiny or what? " Kai chuckled softly. "I bet it is, I will tell you the full story some other time." His mom nodded. "Of course." "So what actually happened?" Kai's dad asked, taking a seat next to his son in law(Jiyong) and Sehun took his next to Taeyeon. After clearing his throat, Sehun narrated everything to them, from how he got abducted to how he accidentally opened a Pandora box, and how he unintentionally killed those men, to how he got burnt. Taehyung helped with the story, too, explaining things Sehun couldn't, because he wasn't familiar with them. A moment passed, everyone was silent, then Mr. Kim spoke. "I am terribly, terribly sorry for what you went through, and believe me, no one will blame you for what you did, it is called self defense on the surface. You did what you had to do survive, and I promise you I will do everything in my power to ensure nothing of such ever happened again." He said and his tone reflected the words.  Sehun nodded, now resting his head on Taeyeon's shoulder. "I know, Kai said the same thing when I told him how the guilt was eating me from the inside." "I understand how you feel Sehun. Please don't blame yourself." Mr. Kim added with a soft look on his face. The mer nodded again. "And you don't have to bother about something like that happening again, my grandmother has taken care of it ." "She did?" Mr. Kim asked, "How?" "She uhm–" Sehun made a gesture with his hands as he explained. "She was able to get into their heads– I mean those involved and that knows about our existence. She manipulated their memories into believing nothing as such ever existed. But the only thing that might be a problem is the building that I was held in" he looked up and his eyes met with Kai's  "I've already taken care of that" Yoongi suddenly said, they all turn to look at him and he continued. "I burnt all the evidence and made it looked like some crazy illegal experiment center. The government won't find anything useful that will lead to anything. And you said your grandma did some to–" "No" Sehun cut him off shaking his head vigorously. "Not , she Manipulated their memories." Yoongi chuckled. "that's what I was taking about." "But you said –" "Aish Sehun, it's a figure of speech the humans use" Jimin supplied, walking down the stairs with Jungkook trailing behind him.  Kai just realized the two have been out of sight when they rejoined the others. Both Jungkook and Jimin's lips surprisingly swollen. Which clearly showed they've been making out somewhere in the house. Jungkook sat on an empty armchair and Jimin took his seat next to Chanyeol's and the older Park wrapped an arm around his brother's shoulder. "Sorry for just joining–" "Guess you two have been busy" Baekhyun said with a knowing smile. Jungkook blushed and cleared his throat but didn't say a word. "As I was saying" Yoongi continued. "Everything has been settled. So you're all safe now." His eyes lingered on Sehun, Jimin, Taehyung, Namjoon and Chanyeol. And they all nodded. "Uhm" Kai cleared his throat.
