Jung Wheein did not know how to feel when she got her Hogwarts letter. She remembered some vague stories from when she was a child and her grandmother would tell her bedtime stories. Not in a million years did she think she would get one and now she sat on the floor of her bedroom staring at the unopened letter. “Wheein are you okay?” she heard from the hallway, just great her mother had come home early. The door opened and there stood her mum. Wheein and her mum had always had a strong bond that only got stronger after her dad left them. “what have you got there lovely?” at first Wheein absolutely hated that nickname but then her mum had told her she gave her the nickname because for her Wheein makes life lovelier. After that she didn’t want to be called anything else. Wheein handed her the letter. “Aah I was wondering when you’d get yours”, she said as she sat down next to her. “You knew I was wizard?”. Her mother looked at her with a gentle smile, “of course I knew lovely, I always knew you were special”. At this Wheein didn’t know how to feel, she’d never felt special just average at best. She knew she was good at art but she would never think she excelled in it. “So, do you want to go?”, her mother asked her and her hand. Did she want to go? It would mean not being able to see her mum every day and an unfamiliar environment, but it could also be a fresh start, a chance to fully leave the past behind. “I don’t know mum, did you go?”. “No lovely, I can’t say that I did”. Wheein looked, “why not?”. “Well”, she started,” I don’t have magic lovely”. At this Wheein was surprised, she was sure her grandmother had magic. “But grandmother had magic”, she said confused. “ooh I know but it wasn’t passed onto me, it was passed onto you” she smiled. There surely must have been a mistake Wheein thought. She didn’t have an ounce of magic in her, she was sure of it. What should she do now? She never thought something like this could actually happen and least of all to her. “Do I have to go?”.
