Jisoo's POV

It was a typical Monday morning with the usual school as per normal. Lectures went on normally with people either sleeping during lectures, doing something else or paying attention to what the lecturer had to say. Being the studious kid I am, I obviously belong into the category where I listen in class... Except that after 20minutes of paying attention, my mind just shuts down and I close off everything the lecturer had to say

I was still looking at the whiteboard but my mind was just full of thoughts from the events from last night. It was about the  conversation between my father and my mother and I was not supposed to know about it. Every time when they enter my father's study room, it meant that they were discussing something confidential and I will never ever know what they were talking about

This is why there is no way I can ask them about all the questions that were filling my mind right now. Questions about who were the people they were talking about... About who Seungri was and many more. I was thinking back to why the conversation between my father and my mother started when I remembered it happened when we saw Jane with a man on the way back home

My eyes shifted from the whiteboard to the front row of the lecture hall was Jane was sitted at. She was all alone at the very front of the huge lecture hall and was diligently listening and copying down what the lecturer had to say

She's so hardworking... As expected of a scholarship student

I looked at her and I kept trying to using my one and only surviving brain cell to help me figure out how she made my parent so worried

Friends... Maybe I can try being her friend?

Truth to be told, I'm someone who loves making friends and I don't really care about our social status or anything. In fact, Jane is someone who I am actually really interested in being friends with. It's probably because she isn't someone who is rich and snobby, so the vibe that she gives off is different from the people who I am constantly surrounded with since I attend YG Primary School

Coincidentally, being friends with her right now might be the best way for me to get to the root of the problem and I will finally have an answer. I have decided that once lunch break arrives, I will try to ask her to have lunch with me and hopefully make friends with her

I thought of many ways I could ask her to grab lunch with me without attracting unwanted attention. By unwanted attention, I do mean Seulgi. If possible, I would like to avoid Seulgi coming up my and asking me why I'm about to have lunch with Jane. From what I remembered, Seulgi can get really annoying if you try to befriend someone who she isn't on good terms with

And right now, Jane is exactly that person Seulgi is picking on. I believe that Seulgi only bullies those who are of lower social status so I definitely wouldn't be on that list, but her confronting me about it might be really annoying and I do not want to deal with it

I decided that once lecture is over, I'll make sure that Seulgi and her gang has left the area before I ask Jane to have lunch with me

Soon, the 2hour lecture ended and my 'mission' had begun. I looked at the very back row and I saw Seulgi standing up while she was looking at the direction of where Jane was at

Please just leave... Please go

I was praying for Seulgi to just leave the lecture hall without doing anything to Jane because this would mean that I would have no chance at talking to Jane. As if god had answered my prayer, Seulgi just turned and left the area. I did mention that school went on as per normal but this was definitely abnormal. Usually after every lecture, Seulgi would walk all the way down to the lecture hall just to glare at Jane and talk bad about her right in her face

Maybe just for today, Seulgi might have changed a little or she couldn't care less about doing anything to Jane. Whatever the reason, it meant that my chance had arrived. I told Chaeyoung and the rest to go on without me and they did

Jane was walking up the stairs to get out of the lecture hall when she noticed me still at my seat. She looked at me before she looked away and continued her climb. I quickly walked behind her and followed her out of the area

"Are you following me?" She suddenly stopped in her tracks and turned around to face me. This caught me off-guard as I almost collided into her but my reflexes were fast enough and I quickly stopped too

"Uhm... Maybe?"

"Can you please stop following me? It feels really uncomfortable" She turned around and continued her walk. "Hey, would you have lunch with me?" I asked her and I felt a little embarrassed because it sounded a little like a pick up line

"No. Leave me alone" She rejected me at the speed of light and started picking up her pace. "Why not? Isn't it lonely eating alone?" I asked her as I had always felt lonely while I was alone and waiting for my friends to finish their classes

"I rather feel lonely than to have a snake's company" She emphasised her words and she warned me to not follow her. I respected her decision and I decided to go to the canteen to find Chaeyoung and the rest

"How'd it go?" Chaeyoung asked me as soon as I plopped onto the seat beside her. "No good... She's as stubborn as a mule. I don't think I will ever be able to befriend her" I sighed as I rested my head on the table

"I don't get why you want to be her friend... I mean she seems so unfriendly and it feels like she thinks having friends isn't important" Lisa
