Familiar
Love & HateSunday
Jisoo's POV
It was a typical Sunday morning and it also meant that our weekly family day has arrived. My father always says that every Sunday is for our family to spend quality time with one another and we would usually go out to have fun and relax together
As it is a weekly thing and the day is short, he always wants us to wake up earlier than usual so that we can spend an even longer time together. This is why it is not surprising to see me awake at 8am in the morning
After my group mates had left the house yesterday, my father told us that we were going to go out today and that we should all get ready by 9am. I tried to ask him where we were going but he kept telling me that it was a secret
I went down to the living room as soon as I was done getting ready and I saw both of them already dressed up and ready to go. I said my usual good morning to them and we all wore our shoes and left the house
We got into our family car, the white Land Rover and buckled up our seatbelts
"Everyone got your seatbelts on? If yes then let's go!" My dad chirped happily in the morning as he loves spending time with his family
"Where are we going?" I asked him as he still hasn't told us about our destination. He looked at me through the rearview mirror and gave me a smirk
"Whats that supposed to mean?" I questioned his smirk as that smirk could either mean something good or bad... Which in most cases it means something bad. He shrugged at me and continued driving
The ride was long and boring as there was nothing to do except to look at the passing cars. I made a deal to myself saying that I should try to not touch my phone when I was out with my parents during family day so I was resisting the urge to scroll through my phone
I looked outside and saw the scenery before my eyelids felt heavy and I doze off to sleep. After what felt like a 5minutes sleep when actually 1 hour had passed, my father parked the car and woke me up
"Wakey wakey we have reached" He unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car which I did the same
I rubbed my eyes and and covered them as I came into contact with the blazing sunlight as my eyes hasn't adjusted to the light properly yet
After slowly adjusting to the sunlight, I looked up at the huge signboard and saw where my dad had planned for us to go to. The zoo
"Wah! It's the zoo!! It's been a long time" I raised my hands up in the air and ran towards the entrance
My father went to buy our entrance tickets while my mother and I went to find some seats to sit down while waiting for our tickets
"Sooya, do you remember when was the last time you came to the zoo?"
"Mm! It was when I was 8 years old and we came with Jennie and her parents right?" I looked at my mother and I saw her smile drop slightly. "Yes... It was with them"
I could feel that my mother was thinking of something and she was trying to avoid this topic. The last time I tried asking my father, he had almost the same reaction as my mother except that he actually got mad at me for asking too much
I decided to take my chances with my mother and ask her about it. "Say mum... What happened with Jennie and her parents?" She was silent for a few seconds before speaking. "Sooya... I-I can't tell you. At least not yet"
"Why can't you guys tell me anything... At least just something small?" I looked at my mother with eyes that looked sad at the fact that they did not want to let me know anything and she seemed to be thinking of something she could tell me
"... Sooya... They are-"
"I got our tickets! It's time to see some animals and your favourite pandas Soo!" My father waved the tickets that were in his hands. My mother and I stood up and we all went towards the entrance
"Mum, you haven't finished what you were saying" I told her as I wanted to hear what she had to say. "Not when your dad is here" She whispered slightly and I decided that it was best to not ask her anymore
After spending 3hours in the zoo, we left the zoo as we were done and we went to look for food
"Is there anything you guys want to eat?" My father asked both my mother and I. "Oh! Can we go to the café near the school? They sell some delicious western food"
They both said ok to it and I gave them the address to the café. After what felt like an eternity of plain driving and listening to the radio, we finally reached the café
As it was a Sunday plus the timing we had went to gra
