Love & HateSaturday
Jisoo's POV
The first week of school came to an end and came Saturday. I would usually be asleep in bed and would only wake up to the smell of food but today was different. Instead of waking up at 11am, I got up 1hour earlier and went to wash up
Yes, even though it is just 1hour earlier, that hour feels almost like I had taken an extra day of sleep because of how sleep deprived I am from school. So, having myself wake up earlier than usual is almost the same as there being snow during the summer
I slowly descended from the stairs and walked towards the living room. My father and mother who were reading the newspaper and magazine respectively immediately placed them down and turned towards where my footsteps were coming from
Their eyes widen and I could see that they were surprised to see me awake at this hour
"Good morning!" I greeted them first thing in the morning and skipped my way towards them and plopped onto the couch
"Sooya are you sick?" My mother asked me worriedly and placed an arm on my forehead to check for my temperature
"Sick? Do I look sick?"
"No... Maybe I'm still dreaming because you actually woke up early for once" This time round, my mother pinched her cheeks to make sure that she was awake
"Honey, could it be that Soo has a twin sister that we don't know about?" My father finally spoke and he looked at my mother
"I'm pretty sure I gave birth to only one kid..." My mother was starting to think and I finally interrupted all the fantasies they were having
"Mum, dad stop letting your imaginations run wild! I'm just this early because my group mates will be coming over our house for a project" I explained and they finally returned back to their senses
"Oh... What time will they be coming and how many are there?" My mother asked and returned back to reading her magazine that was resting on her lap
"Mmm... Around 12pm and there will be 4 of them coming"
"I'll ask the chef to cook their lunch for them" She got off the couch and walked towards the kitchen. "Thanks mum!"
For the next 1hour and so, I was lying down on my bed and scrolling through Instagram to see the latest updates
The puppies are so cute! I hope I can get one soon!
In the midst of watching a video about baking cakes, a notification from the group chat for the Atlas module popped up
Scholarship Girl:
Hi, I will be reaching your house in 5minutes
Jisoo:
Ok sure, when you are at the gate let me know!
Where are the rest?
Irene:
I should reach at 12 sharp
Jisoo:
Sure thing
I opened Twitter and saw the tweets my friends tweeted. 5minutes later, the scholarship girl had texted me to tell me that she was already waiting at the front gate
I ran down the steps and went to the intercom near my door to check if it really was her. I pressed the button for the gates to open and closed it after she walked in
After a 3minutes walk from the front gate, she soon reached the door to the house. I opened the door for her and saw her still wearing her eye patch, but without her face mask this time round
"Hey, you are rather early" I invited her in and she simply gave me a curt nod and looked around the house
"...Looks the same..." She mumbled softly and I only caught what she said partially. "You said something?" I asked her as I didn't hear the first half of her sentence
"Nothing... I said it was a nice house, like those mansions you see online"
"Welcome! What is your name?" My mother came down from the stairs and walked towards the guest
"Hello Mrs Kim... My name is... Jane" The scholarship girl bowed politely and introduced herself
Jane? Did I hear it before?
"It's nice to meet you Jane. What happened to your eye?" My mother asked and inched closer to Jane to take a closer look at the eye patch
She instantly took a step back and covered her eye patch with her left hand. "I... Accidentally dropped my phone on my eye when I was using it while lying down" She lied smoothly and I knew it was a lie because it was actually Seulgi who had punched her eye
"Oh I see... Better wear protective goggles next time then!" My mother joked around and tried to make Jane feel more welcome. "By the way, I'm sorry my husband isn't here to welcome you as he is currently busy doing work at the study room now"
"It's ok Mrs Kim, I understand"
"I'll leave you girls alone now!" My mother said as she jogged up the stairs and I caught Jane smiling slightly
It feels like the very first time I had seen her smile. All these while she was usually w
