Day 2 of school

Jisoo's POV

"Why did I oversleep again?" I questioned myself out loud as I walked down the hallway to get to my class. I had my laptop in one hand and a cup of Starbucks in the other

Yes I am late for class, but this doesn't mean that it will stop me from getting my caffeine to keep me awake through all the classes that are full of theory and it will all my brain juices dry. I stopped at the door of the class and prayed to god that the lecturer wouldn't give me a lecture for being late to his class

I mustered up all my courage and opened the sliding door. Immediately, I felt 20 pairs of eyes including the lecturer's looking at me as I made my 'grand' entrance to class

"Good morning Ms Jisoo, the class started 2 hours ago and it's ending in an hour. You might as well continue sleeping in and not attend this class" The lecturer said as I looked at him. "I'm sorry sir... the alarm wasn't loud enough to wake me up" I gave him a apologetic smile as I stood a few feet away from him

He sighed and rubbed the temples of his forehead. "Head to your group, I was briefing them about a project just before you came in. Now which group is Jisoo supposed to be in?" He asked the class and one group raised their hands up

A project when it's only the 2nd day of school? Bless my life

I walked towards the group and took a seat beside one of them. The lecturer quickly finished up what he was saying and left us to our group to talk about what we were going to do

Chaeyoung, Lisa, Nayeon and I were all in different groups which left me to feel lonely and sad without having any of my friend's company for this group project. I looked at my group mates and only saw faces that I had never seen before. But out of the 4 of them, there was 1 that certainly seemed familiar to me

I was thinking about where I had saw her before when the answer struck my mind

Isn't she the scholarship girl from yesterday? I couldn't really tell that it was her because of the face mask and eye patch that she is wearing

"Uhh hi guys, I'm Irene" One of my group mates spoke up to break the awakward silence that filled the air. "Hello... I'm Jisoo" I introduced myself and the other 2 members also did the same after me. "And you are...?" Irene asked the scholarship girl

"... Scholarship girl" She replied and looked away from all of us. "Nice to meet you scholarship girl! You have such a unique name" I spoke in awe and I looked at her with my mouth agape

My statement earned small giggles from my group mates and they all looked at me as if I had a screw loose in my head. "You do know that she is joking right?" Irene mentioned and looked at me weirdly. "Yeah I do... Wait, that wasn't her name?" I asked in disbelief which made Irene facepalm herself

After the brief introduction on our names, we all quickly brainstormed for ideas on our group project. I know that we are medical students and we are in a medical course, but the module for this class we are having currently is to help improve our creative thinking. The module name is called Atlas and it is almost in no way related to the medical course

For the project, we have to choose from 3 options and focus just on 1. We decided to focus on Artifical Intelligence and we had to either come up with an original idea or improve on an already existing AI. Obviously, we chose to improve on an already existing AI because we didn't have to brains of Albert Einstein or Thomas Edison, and we chose to tackle on the 'Tray Return Robot'

We had to come up with ways to make the process of this robot more efficient to help with some of the cleaner's jobs and to also improve the experience of consumers. One major problem that the robot faced was to move around, especially when children are purposely standing in front of it to prevent them from moving

Being the genius I am, I obviously suggested some ideas that are out of this world. "Hm... How about equipping the robot with some tasers? I'm sure that this will shock the people blocking the way and they will learn their lesson?"

"Uhm I'm pretty sure that might just cause them to faint and they will still be blocking your way" Irene countered my suggestion. "Then we can just have the robots to go over the bodies" I gave another idea which caused all my group mat
