Jennie's POV

I opened my eyes and I was greeted with an unfamiliar ceiling. The ceiling was white and the walls all around me was also painted in the same shade of white. I don't think I have painted my room walls white and I was started to panic. What if this was another kidnap but in a better environment now?

I tried to lift my hand up to check and feel if I was being tied but I couldn't lift my right hand. I looked down slightly and I saw Jisoo holding my hand and resting her head on the bed. She was asleep and she still looks so pretty even with some drool sliding down from her lips

A sense of security filled me as I knew that I would be safe with Jisoo by my side. Slowly, I stretched slightly to the left to grab a piece of tissue paper when I felt pain all over my body, causing me to wince and jerk slightly. This action seemed to have stirred Jisoo awake as she sat up and rubbed her eyes and drool away from

"Does any where hurt? Do you need anything?" Jisoo asked me worriedly while standing up to scan through my face and my body for any other injuries that the doctor might have missed out. I shook my head and she heaved out a sigh of relief. "I'm so sorry... I-I should have walked you to your doorstep and made sure you got in safely" She started sobbing and that made me feel like tearing up too

"Chu, it's alright, it's not your fault. Don't beat yourself up over it. No one would have expected anyone to be in my house waiting for me." I tried to soothe her and I reached my hand out to cup her cheeks. "I'm fine now. You saved me." I leaned in to peck on her cheeks before kissing her lightly on the lips

"My dad... How is my dad doing?" Jisoo told me about how my father was also brought in to the same hospital and he was a floor higher than I am. He was in almsot the same state than I am in but he has a swollen cheek, a black eye and a broken ribcage. He would need to stay in the hospital for awhile for further observations and he could be discharged when the doctor gives his consent

As for me, I have a few whip markings that tore into my skin slightly and many parts of my body were covered with those whippings. My cheeks were swelling like a balloon, my wrists had rope markings imprinted on them causing them to turn purple due to the lack of blood flow. I was told to stay in bed and avoid moving unnecessarily to prevent the cuts from opening up

"Jichu, so can you tell me why is your father here? What if he tries to kill us again?" She leaned back into her seat and started telling me about how my father had called to ask if I was with her when I disappeared. How she went over to my house and the kidnapper had called my father to ask him to get me in Busan

She also said how my father forced her to go home and her father suddenly asked her about me, which caused Jisoo to think that Uncle Seunghyun might have been the one who tried to kill us years ago. But it turns out that it wasn't him and he helped Jisoo to look for me

"If your father wasn't the one that was trying to kill us... Who was it?" My question seemed to have caused a sudden realisation in Jisoo as her eyes shot wide open and she quickly stood up from her seat. "I'll call my dad, give me a few minutes." She stepped out of the room and started making her call

Jisoo's POV

I was pacing back and forth in the hospital hallways while waiting for my father to pick up. After a few rings, the call finally connected and I spoke even before he could have. "Dad, Jennie just woke up and she asked me a question that is starting to worry me."

"That's great, Jiyong is still asleep but Chaerin is here with him. So, what is the question?"

"If you weren't the one who hired people to go after Jennie and her family, who was it?" I whispered and looked around the hallways to make sure no one was listening in to my conversation. "... I have someone in mind. I'll settle this, you continue staying by Jennie's side."

"No dad! I want to come along with you. Please? I have to witness everything with my own eyes to make sure that Jennie would be safe from any further harm." I pleaded with my father and he gave me his consent and asked to meet me at the lobby in 5minutes. I ended the call and went back into Jennie's room to find her sound asleep again

"I'll be back soon." I bent down and kissed her forehead and caressed her swollen cheeks. My heart hurts from seeing her in the state she is in and I couldn't bear to leave her. I took a few more looks at her before leaving her hospital room and going down to the lobby to meet with my father

We walked towards his car and I sat in the passenger seat beside him. "Dad, why didn't you ask for the ambulance to bring Jennie and her father to your hospital?" I asked my father and he told me that it would be a bad idea for them to be admitted there. "Then, who is the person you have in mind?" I asked again as he started the engine and drove out. "I would like to think that it isn't him but he is the only suspect... Let me make a few calls"

I listened to my father who was speaking on the phone and I was glad that he decided to call the police. "Hello is this Senior Officer Kang Daesung? I'm Seunghyun... Ah I would need your help with something. You see, there was this girl who was kidnapped yesterday and we managed to get her back with the help of the Busan police, but the mastermind behind the kidnap is still at large. I'm quite sure who the person is and I'll need your help with bringing him back to the police station... Yes, thankyou. I'll text you the address"

"How do you know this senior police officer?"

"He is one of my childhood friend but we haven't been keeping in contact because we were both busy with our jobs." My father made a right turn into a building and I looked out of the window to see where we were. "YG Hospital? Why are we at your hospital?" 

"To catch the culprit? Why else would we be here?"

I got out of the car and followed my father from behind. "What do you mean? Why would the culprit be here? Is he a patient or something?" I asked my father as I was starting to get confused. We took the elevator up to the second highest floor and we got off the lift. "Just be quiet and stay outside the room to wait for the police alright?" I nodded my head and watched my father enter a room

I looked at the signed placed on the room door and it wrote 'Marketing Manager, Lee Seungri'

Seungri? I think dad introduced me to him before. Could it be that this guy knows something about the mastermind? 

I leaned my head against the door to listen in on the conversation but the entire room was sound proof. Reluctantly, I pushed myself off the door and went to take a seat at a nearby bench. I was on my phone, scrolling through my social media when I heard a loud crash that was enough to escape the sound proof room

At first, I thought that I was hearing things because of how quiet this entire level was. But I was pretty sure that my hearing was still working perfectly fine when another crash sounded. I quickly got up on my feet and rushed into the room

I was greeted with a sight of my father being pinned by Seungri who was punching my father rapidly. I stood frozen on my spot and my mouth was agape. "St-Stop hitting my father!" I shouted and I earned the attention of both men who were in the room

"Jisoo, get out of the room. Now!"

I turned to run out of the room. Before I could make it outside, I felt an arm circle around my waist and another was around my neck. He was moving sideways and I was forced to move with him.

My father stood up unsteadily and there was blood dripping from his nose. "Seungri, let my daughter g
