Jisoo's POV
I drove off after dropping Jennie home. I had one hand on the steering wheel and the other was on my lips. 30% of my focus was on the road while the other 70% was focusing on the quick peck Jennie left on my lips before she got off the car. It has barely been 5minutes but I already miss the feeling of our lips connected
Thinking of her already, I took out my phone from my pocket and gave her a text. She told me to drive home safely and text her when I'm home. I stepped on the accelerator to get home even faster than usual so that I could spend the rest of my day texting her or talking to her on the phone
I came to a stop at a traffic light when it turned red and looked at all the people passing by. Some were going for their lunch break, some were starting to go to work or school and basically doing their own things. I was drumming my fingers on the steering wheel when a bright, blinding light distracted me from my thoughts
From the rear view mirror, I saw a black van that had their headlights at the highest beam. The heck? Who even turns on their headlights at 12 noon? I tried to look through the rear view mirror to see if I could take a look at the driver's face. But it was almost impossible because the driver was wearing a cap that covered his face
I started driving when the traffic light turned green and the black van behind me quickly sped up and went to the lane beside mine. I looked to my left in hopes that I could see who this weird driver was but the windows were tinted a shade of black. There was no way I could take a look at the face in the car. The black van then swerved into my lane all of a sudden and he took off like Usain Bolt
Shrugging my shoulders, I was pretty sure the driver of the black van was a young punk that enjoyed thrills and annoying people out from their blinding headlights and they will never get caught because of their tinted windows. I continued my way home as usual
It seemed like forever but I finally reached home and plopped on the couch. I took my phone out and texted Jennie
Jichu:
I'm home :)
I waited for 5minutes for a reply from Jennie but I got nothing. I walked towards the kitchen to grab a glass of water for myself to drink while waiting for her reply
Jichu:
Yahoooo... Anyone home?
Knock knock, i'm bored :(
Are you sleeping?
30minutes went by and still no response from her. Something in my head tells me that this doesn't feel right. Normally Jennie would reply me within 5minutes. If she were to be busy to reply me, she would have at least given me a heads up. "Aish this Jendeuk... You told me you would be waiting for my text when I reach home" I groaned out in frustration and sat down on the couch to watch some Netflix
Unknowingly, I fell asleep and when I woke up, the skies were dark and the sun had already set long ago. I saw the clock on the wall indicating that it was already 7pm at night. But there was still no reply from Jennie
I scrolled through my contacts and tapped on the 'call' button beside Jennie's name. One ring... Two rings... And the call went straight into the voicemail. Something happened to Jennie
I got off the couch and head straight for the door to drive to Jennie's home to look for her. I reached out for the door knob and at the same time, the door opened, revealing my parents
"Oh Sooya! Were you about to leave the house?" My mother asked me as she stood behind my father while waiting for him to enter the house. My father looked at me and he was waiting for my reply. "Mm... Welcome back home. I have something to do right now, I'll be back soon"
I was one foot out of the door when my father grabbed my wrist and stopped me in my tracks. "Let's have dinner together, you can leave after you're done." I wanted to protest and object. Jennie's safety was my priority and she hasn't been replying to my text or answering my call. My mouth opened to say 'no' to my father but it didn't obey me. "Okay..."
I hate myself for complying with my father. I have talked back to him so many times but why didn't I argue with him about staying with dinner this time round? Sometimes I don't get myself
While eating the dinner, no one spoke a word. My father ate silently, my mother was looking at her phone and I was just staring at the bowl of soup placed in front of me. I couldn't eat peacefully and calmly without knowing that Jennie is fine. It was about 7.30pm and still 0 reply from her. Hang on... Her parents would call me if Jennie isn't home yet. Since they didn't give me a call, that means she should be fine
I concluded Jennie's safety just so that I could continue eating my dinner. "Soo, can I ask you about your friend? Jan-" Before my father could finish his sentence, my phone started ringing and I immediately took the call upon seeing the caller ID. It was Jennie's dad
I picked up the call and excused myself from my seat. "Hello uncle, what's wrong?" I asked him and I climbed the stairs up to head into my room. "Jennie. Is Jennie with you?" I could hear the nervousness in his voice and my heart started racing. "No... She isn't home?"
"She's not home. I can't get through her phone. She's not picking up or replying me" I entered my room and closed the doors behind me. "She didn't reply me ever since 12noon. I thought she was just taking a nap. I even dropped her off at her house today"
I could hear Auntie Chaerin calling someone over the phone and Uncle Jiyong seemed to be comforting his wife. "It's okay thank you. We'll find Jennie on our
