Jisoo's POV

It was the next day of school and the school bell rang. The lecture for math had just ended and I packed my bag to head for lunch with my friends. As usual, I was the first to finish packing my school bag as I was feeling very hungry and I am ready to dash for the canteen to grab some food to satisfy my hunger

"Grrr" My stomach rumbled and my friends turned to look at me. "Jisoo why are you always so hungry everyday?" Chaeyoung asked me as she was slinging her tote bag over her shoulders

"I can't help it! My little friend here just loves to eat" I said as I rubbed my stomach and pouted my lips. "But your stomach is rumbling everyday after a class! And every class is 2hours long that means we hear your stomach rumbling for at least twice a day!" Lisa spoke in astonishment as if my stomach rumble was a feat

"Let's stop teasing her and settle her stomach first. Shall we head to the canteen now?" Nayeon suggested and I thanked her for saving me with a thumbs up

"Well well well... Look who will be having lunch alone again?" I was about to leave the class when I heard a very familiar voice that has always been targeted at the very same student

I turned back and saw Seulgi with her gang cornering Jennie who was standing up at her seat. I stood at my spot with my hand on the door handle and looked at the situation unfold

"Oh! It's Jane who will be eating alone, too bad she doesn't have any friends" One of Seulgi's sidekick made a remark which caused some snickers amongst themselves

Jennie took a deep breath and sighed out loud before firing back at Seulgi "I'm sorry for not having any friends. But I rather have no friends than to have a friend like you" This sentence caused Seulgi's eyes to widen and clench her fist tightly

"Are you asking for a death wish? Do you want to get expelled from this school?" Seulgi stepped forward and leaned over Jennie slightly. "Seul... That's enough, let's go... I'm hungry" Irene spoke up timidly and grabbed Seulgi's wrist as an attempt to pull her away

"No this isn't enough! I need to teach her a lesson" Seulgi slapped Irene's hand away and started to crack her knuckles. At this point in time, I was still standing at my spot like a statue

Crap crap crap. What do I do? ! I'm about to my pants

"Jisoo why are you still standing there?" Chaeyoung noticed that I hadn't left the class with them and came back to look for me. She took a look inside the class and understood why I was still there. "Jisoo-ah... Let's go, we shouldn't meddle in their business"

I swallowed my saliva that I hadn't noticed was accumulating inside of my mouth and I looked at Chaeyoung. "Chaeng, you guys go ahead before me... I'll be there soon... I hope..." As I finished my sentence, I closed the door and locked it, causing Chaeyoung to panic and trying her hardest to open the door

"Jisoo! Don't do anything stupid! Open the door now!!"

The commotion that Chaeyoung had made caused everyone who was still present in the class to turn their heads and look at where the noise was coming from. They noticed that I was walking down the steps and getting closer to them

"What are you doing here? You have no business here so leave" Seulgi ordered me and she was staring intently and observing every move I made. "I actually have business here" I replied Seulgi and tried my hardest to look brave

"With what?"

"With Jen- Jane" I said as I pointed at Jennie and she looked confused for a second

"Sorry but I was here first. You can wait for your turn outside... Or join in with her" Seulgi grinned and she seemed to have thought that I would give her the reply she was expecting

As I was approaching them, my legs felt weaker and each step I took felt heavier. I clenched the side of my shirt and slowly descended the stairs. Before I knew it, I was already standing beside Jennie and Seulgi and her gang was standing before us

Why didn't I just leave the class? Today is going to be my death anniversary because of what I am doing right now

I closed my eyes and took deep breaths before opening my eyes

"I-I... I think that you should stop with your bullyings" I swallowed my saliva and showed my fiercest, most serious look. But deep down, I was feeling all sorts of emotions. I was feeling worried, anxious, nervous and scared at the same time. This will be the first time in my entire life where I have stood up to a case of bullying which I have always turned a blind eye to

Bullying was quite a common occurence in school ever since I was young but I always chose to close one eye and walk pass all the cry for help from the victims. But now the situation is different. It might be because the victim of the bullying is someone who I cherish and love deeply. Or it might just be because I felt like playing the hero today. Whatever the case, I just can't seem to stop running away from all the injustice which is why I am standing here right now

Jennie seemed to have noticed how nervous and afraid I was as she took a step closer to me and held my hand tight. I felt more confidence and less scared than before as I held her hand back

"Kim Jisoo, I never knew you had this heroic side to you" Seulgi said mockingly and she rotated her neck and fold
