This story was originated from a class exercise when I asked students to bring one item with them and board a spaceship that would leave Earth forever. I asked myself the same question but failed to have an answer. I then decided to explore this issue by writing a novel. The earlier editions (still in progress) were heavily loaded with political agonies: a group of freedom fighters was forced to leave their homeland when it was engulfed by the Alien tyranny. Secretly, the group joined a global alliance of freedom fighters (Free States Gateway) and started to plan the “Big Escape”. Against all odds, the group built a spaceship that resembled an ordinary residential building, nicknamed the “Jungle Mansion”. By some accident, the secret of JM was on the verge of being discovered by the Alien army. Luckily, JM managed to launch right before the political police successfully broke into and seized the spaceship. This is the first fanfic that I have ever attempted to write. I am using JM's journey to the FSG as a background, to stage the adventures, struggles, friendship, and love stories of the twelve young freedom fighters.
