Astrogarten

Description

The six friends of ASTRO are headed to Kindergarten! They’ve been upgraded from ABC’s and nap time to addition and reading. Nothing can tear these buds apart when they’re on top of the world...except the pretty new girl they all have a crush on. With the help of their favorite eighth grade noona and her best friends, will these adorable little tykes stick together or will they start to color outside the lines?

Foreword

Taerin waited at the bus stop for the little ones. She had Jinwoo on her lap, and he was still sleeping. Myungjun and Dongmin skipped over together.
“Hi, Taerin noona.” They said in unison.
“Good morning, boys. Take a seat.” She patted the seat beside her.
They played little hand games together for a while before Bin came over, hugging Taerin’s arm. Minhyuk wasn’t far behind, charging over.
“Binnie, could you stop him before he trips?” Taerin asked.
Bin smiled adorably and stood out on the sidewalk. “MINHYUK, THE ROAD IS ROCKY! SLOW DOWN!”
Minhyuk skidded to a stop right in front of him. “Whoops. Sorry.” He looked at Taerin. “Hi, noona.”
“We're going to have to start calling you Rocky, because you're always running on a rocky road.”
Minhyuk shrugged and sat beside Dongmin. A few minutes later, the bus rolled up.
“Alright, everybody up. Make sure you have everything.” Taerin said, standing up with Jinwoo’s things. The boys loaded onto the bus with the other students, and she took a head count.
“One, two, three, four, five…where's Sanha?”

As if on cue, the little boy waddle-ran towards the bus. “Noona! Noona, I'm here!”
Taerin smiled. “Good morning, Sanha.”
“Hi, Rinnie Noona. Sorry, I'm late.”
“It's alright, baby. You're getting closer each day.”
He smiled and filed onto the bus, Taerin behind him.
Minhyuk and Bin sat side by side, Myungjun and Sanha right behind them. Dongmin sat beside Taerin, who bounced a stirring Jinwoo in her arms.
“Hey, kids. What's the song we like to sing on the bus?”
There was a few moments of silence among them before Myungjun began belting out the lyrics to the Hide and Seek song. Everyone turned around to look at him, and his voice slowly faded back into silence.
“Anyone else?” Taerin asked.
“Ooh, ooh!” Dongmin raised his hand. “The Wheels on the Bus.”
“Good job, Dongminnie. When we get to the school, you can have a gummy bear.”
Dongmin smiled at the news.
“On the count of three, we all start singing, okay?”
The little ones answered.
“One, two, three.”
Taerin sang along with the boys as they shouted the lyrics way on the back in the bus. Just as they pulled up to Fantagio Academy, Jinwoo finally picked his head up from Taerin’s shoulder and rubbed his eyes.
“Boys, look who's awake.” Taerin said.
“Hi, Jinwoo.” They all said in unison.
Jinwoo blinked a few times before his angelic little smile took over his face.
“Aww, hi, there, Jinwoo.”
“Hi, Noona.” He said adorably.
“Now that you're awake,” Taerin put him down, “you can lead the boys out.”
Jinwoo clapped. “Yay!”
Taerin stood up. “Alright, everyone. Form a line behind Jinwoo.”
Dongmin, Myungjun, Bin, and Minhyuk all got in line, but Sanha was still waving his legs in his seat.
“Rinnie Noona!” He called.
She crouched beside him. “Yes, Sanha?”
“I can't get my seat belt unbuckled.”
She smiled. “What's the magic word?”
“Please, noona?”
Taerin quickly pressed the button and lifted him out of his seat, placing him behind Minhyuk. “Okay, boys. March.”
They all started walking towards the front of the bus and getting off. When they made it to their classroom, Taerin took all of their lunch bags and put them in the little cubbies.
“Noona, noona!” Dongmin raced over. “Can I have my gummy bear now?”
Taerin laughed. “Sure.” She pulled out a pack ofthe chewy snack, removing the clip to let him pick which one he wanted.
“Yay! I got a gold one.” Dongmin pulled the plastic a few times. “Um...noona? Can you open it for me?”
“What’s the magic word?” She asked.
“Please?” He ed the gummy bear in her face.
Taerin couldn’t help but giggle at his cuteness as she separated the plastic from the gummy bear. “Here you go, Minnie.”
“Thank you, noona.” He said before stuffing it in his mouth and going to sit with the other boys.
“Hey, sister from another mister.”
Taerin turned to find one of her best friends, Heejun, leaning against the doorframe.
“Hey, brother from another mother. What’s up?”
“The class is heading upstairs and Inseong wouldn’t let us leave without you.”
Taerin blushed. “Well, of course not. He knows I’d judo flip every last one of you if you left me.” She rolled her eyes. “Just let me say goodbye to the kids.”
Heejun grabbed her wrist. “Are you sure you want to do that?”
“Why not?” She looked back at him. “They’ll look for me if I don’t.” “Remember last time you said you were going upstairs?” Heejun reminded her. “Both Jihun and Youjin had to pry them off of you.”
Taerin stood still, recalling the incident. “Ok, you’re right. Let’s sneak out.”
“Sanha, your shoe is untied.” Myungjun kicked his foot.
Sanha looked at his sneaker. “Yeah? What does that mean?”
“I heard if you don’t tie your shoes, you’ll trip and fall into a black hole.”
“Ooh, I heard it was a wormhole.” Minhyuk chimed.
“Is there such thing as a food hole? I’d want to fall into that.”
They all stared at Bin.
“What? I was just saying…”
“Better go ask noona to fix it for you before you disappear for good.”
Sanha’s lip quivered. “Rinnie noona, I need help!” He looked around for her.
“Noona?”
