Hyunwoo entered the quiet house. He looks around and sees no sign of his housemate anywhere.  He then looks at the clock on the wall, it's almost 11.00 at night.

"Did he spend the night at his workplace again?" he talked to himself as he put down his bag on the couch and then goes to the kitchen to drink some water. 

The kitchen is dark so he turns on the switch and frowned. Something doesn't smell right but then he remembers the old folks saying 'never say anything about the foul smell at night' so he ignores it. He opened the fridge and pour cold water into the glass. He closes the fridge door as he drinks his glass of water while his eyes are looking around. Unconsciously, still looking for the source of the smell. He knows he is familiar with the smell and knows that smell does not belong in the kitchen but his tired mind refuses to work with him at the moment to recognise what it is. When he walks to the sink to wash the cup, his leg bump into something. He looked down and his eyes went wide. His housemate is lying unconscious on the floor in his own pool of blood. 

Then it hits him. Blood. The foul smell is a smell of blood. As a surgeon, there is a time when blood smells work like a drug upon him - no matter how tired he is, the smell of blood will energise him. This time too, miraculously, all the tiredness from working long hours is forgotten as he kneels beside the unconscious Kihyun. He checks the man's pulse and he can barely feel it. By looking at the blood, it seems like Kihyun has been like this for quite some time.

Hyunwoo fish out his phone to call an ambulance. He explains briefly his housemate's condition to the dispatcher. When the dispatcher asked him where the blood come from, that's when Hyunwoo notices that his housemate is bleeding from between his leg. 

Hyunwoo froze.
