A flash back....

Sitting in a table alone far away from all the other little guys little Kai was opening his lunch box A group of little kids comes to him standing in a circle around his table one of them said “what did your black mom make to lunch today!” The other kids start to laugh at him and little Kai didn’t answer he stayed silent knowing they are bullying him it wasn’t the first time anyway he probably start to get used to it, he can’t fight them! They are outnumbered plus his not that much of fighter he prefers to run away miles and not come back at all, he put his hands under the table leaving the lunch box for the other kids to take and yes they did they take it and left to their own table, there in the centre where everyone dream to be sitting.

Standing from there he goes to the Bathroom where he could be alone and no one will bother him he close the door behind him and sits there trying to be a man and not to cry. Feeling the WC door got opened he put his hand on his mouth to not be sensed by whoever who comes in, footsteps were getting near to his door the yes its stopped right there behind the closed door on him, did they followed him here! They never do that!

The footsteps left after few seconds and Kai open the door immediately to leave before it comes back but the moment he comes out stepping on something making him look down “a pancake!” He said looking at the little pancake with a smile chocolate face on it who is now ruined by his own foot Kai takes it and run outside to see who ever put that there for him but no one was there...

He open the little pancake and start to eat it on his way to his class with happiness, it’s really weird how one little action can makes you forget everything happened before and let you start to think just about it 

The next days were the same as usual he get bullied and every time Kai was going to the bathroom the person followed him and put something new outside the door little Kai couldn’t go out after him since the other didn’t want to reveal himself or to be exact he was afraid that if he know who he was he would stop doing that for him! Because he may be get bullied like him, so till he came and introduce himself to him he won’t bother to try to find out...

Days has past and the summer break arrived Little Kai was happy he won’t be coming to school for 3 months no bullies no studies just him and his room and his lovely parents who are definitely NOT black at all.

It was the last lunch break at that year the kids didn’t go bother him today at the restaurant they were all having fun there in the center it’s been a while since he eat lunch there he open his box and start to eat his lunch for the first and the last time this year

Looking at all the kids having fun he didn’t see the time pass fast, the class time was on and everyone runs in to not get punished from the teachers or the principal 

Little Kai sits on his own table and the class begins, after it finished the teacher asked a kid on the class where is his friend Kai turn to see who the teacher was talking to hearing the conversation 

“I don’t know sir! He goes to the bathroom at lunch time as usual but he didn’t comes back yet”

The bells rings for the end of the last class at the year and Little Kai was frozen at his place, he didn’t go to the bathroom today! He was amazed by watching everyone around and forget about the thing who was his only bot to survive the year! What did he do! Did he was waiting for him! 

Taking his backpack and runs outside the class to the bathroom direction he goes in to find it empty he look at the ground searching for anything...but there was nothing there, what did he do...

He goes in the little bathroom and close the door on him sitting there and trying not to cry! This time not because of the bullying, this time because of what he did to his only friend, looking around that little place he spent the most joyful time in the year in waiting his eyes landed on little paper stick on the door, Kai takes it and look at it 

~~today I know how you felt sitting inside here waiting~~

The words written there broke The Little Kai heart to pieces...no...He shouldn’t...no this can’t be....

He opened the door and run outside searching, looking between the kids here and there, till he was outside running down the alley to the bus station, where he always noticed him going there when he was going back home he passes him every day not knowing he was the one who always makes time for him and give him a peace of his own lunch, he always was the top class kid who is doing his best, he always was there sitting in the center not because of his popularity! No because he work hard and serious that no one ever tried to bully him even if he always silent and rarely he smile....

Little Kai was about to reach the bus station, he still far away, he can see the bus there and he can see him there waiting in line, he runes faster but he know he won’t make it the boy was About to get on the bus 

Little Kai stopped clenched his little fist on the paper note from the bathroom and scream his heart out “KYUNGSOO!!!”

All the people on the street stopped looking at him! But he doesn’t care he was waiting for a specific one to look around and yes he did 

The kid who was going to take the bus stopped and stands there looking from far away with his elite look with a smile on his face...

“That awesome” Baekhyun said listening to Kai who is telling his story with happiness thinking of the time the two met “what happened after?”

Kai lean on his bed “we were more than best friends for almost 4 years since he was an Elite student everyone stop bullying me they didn’t talk to me but that doesn’t bother since I had my one friend, I remember it was the last year of junior school everything changed…even I changed that day…”

“What are we going to do about the search the teacher asked for” D.O asked Kai the two were standing next to their lockers bringing their books

“My place or yours?” Kai immediately asked knowing he can’t say no to study Kyungsoo loves it more than anything

“Mine at 5!” D.O said and Kai nodded “by the way my dad bought me some fireworks want to play with them?” Kai asks

“sure I like fireworks a lot, but after we finish we can fire them at the roof” D.O said with happiness

“son! Can you go and buy me a newspaper please” D.Os father ask his kid giving him the money little D.O look at the hour it was about 5 “okay dad” he said and his mom runs after him “babe! Since you are going to the shop please bring me some green tea with you it almost out” she said and D.O replied a “sure” he goes running at the shop of the neighbourhood as fast as he can he could take 10 minutes doing that Kai won’t be waiting for too long! He knows that Kai always like to came on time he never been late before, he goes in the shop take the newspaper go to the tea section and start to repeat “green…green…green” searching for the word till he find it he takes it fast and goes to pay for it but there was two men in front of the line fighting about something “great” D.O said rolling his eyes

Meanwhile Kai say goodbye to his mom putting the fireworks and his notebook on his bag and take his bicycle going to D.O house down town as usual the place was far so he goes out early to be there on time

Looking at the hour it was 16:57 he smiled to his achievement he likes the smile on D.O face when he always came on time he knocked the door and it was opened Kai raise an eye brow and said a “hello!” he pushed the door and get in putting his bag on the floor “Mother!” he called because he usually called her that out of respect, he heard screams and hits and things getting broken from the kitchen he moves carefully and fast to see what happens he was shocked seeing the two parents fighting with two men wearing weird cloths he put his hands on his mouth to not scream and goes fast to the phone and called 911 immediately his parents always said if he saw a fight he better run and call 911, D.O mother screamed one last scream then everything was silence

His eyes start to tear immediately from fear he couldn’t move his legs was failing him, he managed to move slowly under a near table still putting his hand on his mouth to not make any noise sitting there he saw the men feet going out of the kitchen one of them said “I heard a mother got called” one of them said with a very weird voice 

“look” the other voice said “they have a kid in the picture” 

Kai eyes got wide opened thinking if Kyungsoo! Where is he! 

One of the men foot were going back to the kitchen and they goes out moving straight to the table he was hiding under it and stopped little Kai body start to tremble did they know he was there? 

He can’t see their faces he doesn’t know if they looking at him or not, he ca…

A loud thud heard and D.Os mother thrown in front of him with all blood on her face and eyes opened…she was…dead…

He screams….Kai screamed a loud scream and one of the men grab him out of there taking his fangs out and digging them on his neck he felt weak after few seconds, his blood was drained out by the guy

“stop!” the other with the weird voice said “his not the same boy in the picture” 

“what!” the other said taking his Fangs out looking at the picture again “if the council knows we killed someone out of the list we will get punished”

Kai heard the police whistle outside they came! The police came! Kyungsoo is…safe…That was the only thing in his mind at the moment…then everything went pitch-black

End of flash-back

“they couldn’t kill me so they took me with them and turn me to a vampire, they gave me to the vampire society back town who told my parents that I was chosen for some special military stuff, the look at their eyes was priceless they were proud…very proud…that I couldn’t dare and told them the truth”

Kai stopped for few seconds his voice was in sorrow “I stopped going to school because human blood was hard to resist I even switch the city to not meet anyone I knew and not hurt anyone”

“what about D.O?” Baekhyun asked “did you go to see him after he loses his parents?”

“no” Kai huffs “I didn’t see him since the moment I left him at the school that evening! I heard he was adopted to the police officer who was in charge of the case, but last year I got enrolled to this school! And lucky me I found the same Kyungsoo is studying here! Destiny is mocking me right? I give him the cold shoulder to not get involved with me and yet he did the same not even looking back at me”

“wait so D.O doesn’t know you become a vampire that day!” Baekhyun asked surprised 

“no! he doesn’t know am a vampire at all” Kai answered

“why not?” Baekhyun asked

“the only thing I had in mind at that moment that I become a monster and I can’t forgive myself if I did something bad to him” Kai explain and Baekhyun nodded in understanding “but why now?” Baekhyun asked “why you trying to get near him now?”

Kai smiled “because of you”

Baekhyun lean his head to the right “me?”

“yes the living rumor! The only vampire who stood up against his own kind to protect a human because they were outnumbered” Kai said with enthusiasm

“what? When did i?” Baekhyun asked

“don’t ask me!! but the three Lee-brothers said that they been saved in one night because of a white fox” 

Baekhyun remembered the first time he met Sehun “Oh! That day” 

“so you did?” Kai said 

“kind of? But I changed my mind when he try to shoot me!” Baekhyun huffs in anger remembering his long lost phone who died that day because of his EX-ROOMMATE

Kai stands and sits next to Baekhyun “the idea is…you give me a hope to be friend with a human and try my best to protect him from what happened in the nights”

Baekhyun smiled under his mask and look at Kai “maybe this is too late to say but am going to say it anyway”

Kai look at him with a “what?”

“Kai! Am sorry you go through a lot because of vampires, you make the right decisions at that time you lived a bad live far from your parents…am really…really sorry”

Kai was looking at Baekhyun in silence…

“what?” Baekhyun said 

And the other was still silent 

“Kai?” Baekhyun called and the other jump on him hugging him with a “thank you”
