Waiting for Yujin to return after hanging out with Yena, she allowed her thoughts to float off into her mind. Her back instantly straightened when she realized what almost happened with Chaewon.

I almost kiss by Chaewon..

With how fast those five minutes had passed, the thought hadn't crossed her mind until now.

She couldn't help but admit that she was relieved it wasn't Chaewon being the one to take her first kiss.

I want it to be special than anyone could imagine.

These were always the times when Minjoo hated to be the hopeless romantic that she was.

Well all girls are like this right? It is normal..

She checked the time after noticing it had almost been an hour had passed since Yujin said she was on her way home. With each minute, her eyes were gradually becoming heavier and heavier.

Where were you ? Did something bad happen to you? I hope not, come back home immediately..

"I'll just close my eyes for a minute," she whispered and allowed herself to close her eyes.

It wasn't until five minutes later when the front door began to creak open.

"Minjoo, what are you doing here?"

"Hmm?" she hummed, not having enough strength to open her eyes.

"You're going to get sick if you sleep out here," Yujin slightly scolded. "Can you get up?"

Yujin stared at her lifeless body, knowing that she wouldn't be able to. With a sigh, Minjoo bent down and placed her arms on Yujin’s shoulders.

"I hate that you are clingy sometimes Minjoo when we are alone," she chuckled mostly to herself.

To be honest, I like it…

Can’t you still choose between me and Chaewon?

Minjoo's light breathing tickled the back of her neck with each step she took to her room.

“Just don’t say anything , carry me now to my room”

“Oh, right, oh right, you have a princess syndrome now huh” Yujin jokingly said.

She placed the sleeping beauty gently on her bed and whisper…

"It was a little relieving, too," Yujin added under her breath, then closed her door to enter her own for the night.

Only me can see you like this…

Feeling in the mood to make a delicious breakfast to start the day, she leaped out of bed to brush her teeth.

"Good morning," Minjoo nearly sang when Yujin left her room—scratching her uncovered stomach as always.

Minjoo gave her a strange look, and she never stopped giving her that look until the large breakfast was made.

"Why'd you make so much?" Yujin inquired suspiciously, trotting over to the kitchen from playing her video game.

"My mom," Minjoo explained, looking down at the food with a smile. "My mom likes to always make me a big breakfast on the first day of summer."

"But summer starts on Monday," Yujin remarked.

"She knows," she replied with a giggle. "My cooking isn't nearly as good as hers, but I tried."

Yujin tried not to admire the food too much, but she wouldn't be able to, anyway. As soon as she sat down, she began to drizzle hot sauce over everything.

"What's your mom like?" Yujin asked with a mouthful of eggs.

Minjoo paused at the random question. She had talked about her mom plenty of times to Yujin—she had even heard her a few times—but she had never gone into detail before like this.

"She likes to cook," she answered slowly. "And she's really understanding about everything."

"What about your dad?" Yujin continued to ask, even though she never bothered to stop shoving food inside .

"He's busy with his work, so…" Minjoo's voice trailed off.

"That doesn't answer my question," Yujin pointed out.

"I don't like talking about him," she mumbled. "What about your parents? What's your mom like?"

"It's not important," Yujin responded bluntly.

"What do you mean—"

"Thanks for the breakfast," Yujin interrupted her, hastily standing up from her seat and placing her plate in the sink.

Before she could ask—or even say—anything else, Yujin was back to playing her video game with the roaring volume she never lowered.

Minjoo stared at her half-eaten food with a dumbfounded expression. This wasn't the first time Yujin avoided the topic of her family.

Curiosity gnawed at her; she had no choice but to push her thoughts away.

The air was tenser than she would have preferred, but it soon thinned into thin air when Yujin invited her to play video games with her.

After many embarrassing deaths and laughs, they had finished half of the game in three hours.

"I can't play anymore!" Minjoo proclaimed breathlessly. Her cheeks were flushed from laughing too much.

"Your hands hurt, don't they?" Yujin smirked.

"I'm not used to playing video games for this long," she defended herself, setting the controller beside her.

She was just about to massage her hands, but Yujin beat her to it.

Just an excuse to hold your hand…

"If you do this, it'll help," Yujin advised as she gently pressed her thumb into her palm.

Although Minjoo felt relief in seconds, she didn't tell her that.

Can you hold me longer?

"This isn't hurting anyone," Minjoo silently convinced her thoughts.

She watched Yujin relax her hand; she was glad that Yujin didn't notice the blush that forced its way on her face.

"Can we go to the restaurant I want to go to?" Yujin asked once she had finished massaging her own hands.

"Already using your free meal pass?" Minjoo lifted a brow.

"You never said I couldn't go today," Yujin retorted.

"Let's go then," she nodded, picking herself up from the couch.

It didn't take long for either of them to get ready. Yujin opened the door for her, yet as soon as Minjoo stepped outside, the dark clouds in the sky released all the rain inside of them.

"Let me get the—" Minjoo began.

She wasn't able to finish her sentence as she was interrupted by crackling thunder.

"U-Umbrella," she stuttered, accidentally bumping into Yujin's chest.

"We can go another day," Yujin guaranteed.

Are you afraid of thunder huh? You were so cute but I rather tell not too..

"Are you sure?" she questioned while following her back inside. "It's okay! We can go."

"You and I both know you won't be able to survive with this thunder," Yujin scoffed.

I am not that heartless, you know…

I can always eat what you cook..

"I'll be fine!" she reassured, her body freezing when there was another rumble of thunder.

OMG, I was not OKAY…

"We'll go tomorrow," Yujin repeated. With that, she returned to the couch and the TV.

How can I calm her? She is really shaking now. Arrgh, Yujin used your brain cell. Your damsel is in distress.

Even with Yujin's assurance that it was the rain's fault, Minjoo couldn't help but feel that she was the reason they weren't able to go.

Since she played video games with Yujin instead of grocery shopping, there wasn't anything she could make that would make a decent dinner.

So she lounged around for the rain to let up a little, but that didn't happen. All the rain did was come down even harder.

With an impatient sigh, she made the only thing that she could: rice balls.

I hope she will still eat this..

Why does it needs to rain today

She tried to ignore the rain that only seemed to get worse while she rolled the rice balls into the seaweed.

The light started to flicker in Minjoo's peripheral vision and that's all it took. Minjoo's breath halted when everything became dark.

"Y-Yujin?!" she shouted frantically and loudly, unable to move.

"Minjoo?" Yujin called back from the living room. "Stay where you are." with a worried voice.

"O-Okay," she replied, her hands gripping the edge of the counter.

Come sooner.

It was pitching black; Minjoo wasn't even being able to see her own hand in front of her face.

She could hear Yujin moving behind her to get to her, but she couldn't stop herself from panicking.

I hate dark places.

It’s scary.

Why I’m still afraid of this one, like I am still a kid..

The apartment lit up for a quick second by the help of lightning, and she braced herself for another terrorizing thunder to enter her ears.

However, the thunder didn't get a chance to enter her ears.

"Are you okay?" Yujin asked, removing her hands from Minjoo’s ears.

Put it back again, I like your warmth.

Despite not knowing where she was, Minjoo spun around and wrapped her arms around the first thing she felt. She immediately felt safe once Yujin's arms protectively wrapped around her in return.

Well, Seraph had been forgotten for today, let him be scared Minjoo is more important…

"Why are you shaking so much?" Yujin laughed softly into her ear.

Minjoo didn't listen to her thoughts as she tightened her grasp around her. It was the only thing she could do to hold back the tears that wanted to fall.

I hate thunders! Argh, why you still tease me…

They stood in silence for a while—the rain, gently drumming against the window, being their company.

"C-Can you talk or something?" she squeaked into her broad shoulder.

"Talk about what?" Yujin inquired.

"Your family?" she suggested.

Minjoo sighed into her hair in response. By the way she sighed, Minjoo instantly felt guilty. She was going to suggest another topic, but Yujin had begun.

"My mom is busy and I often met
