A Resolve Through GrowthFebruary 22nd, 2005
This was an unfamiliar sight. Snow once again covered the ground, but the view was lonelier than ever.
“Hey, sorry about missing my birthday. It was a lot of fun! A lot of my friends came over and I even helped baked my own cake. Everyone said they loved it. I don’t know if I believe it when they said it was better than the store ones, but I’m still thankful.”
Seungwan was steadily growing, but she still wasn’t even a teenager yet. Her eyes were soft but had matured quickly beyond her years. A glitter that should be present while she continued discovering the wonders of the world was mysteriously missing. She tried to remember anything else she wanted to share about her birthday, but only one thing stuck in her mind.
“I’m sure dad wished he could be here. He loved listening to me talk about my birthday, but he is sick right now. It’s actually why I couldn’t make it yesterday.”
Her mind went blank after reciting the only thing running through her mind. Old habits tell her the time to go has yet to come, but she wasn’t sure what she normally did to fill up the time. In the end, the cold began to pierce her clothes and she hugged her body hoping to generate extra warmth. Her instincts told her to stay, but she felt her mind slowly losing sanity as she waited for anything to happen.
“It’s kind of cold, I think I’ll head back now. See you later!”
