“How about Paris?” Sehun asks over french toast and black coffee, his best friend’s signature breakfast. Luhan makes an unintelligible noise that closely resembles a, “huh?” and Sehun glances down to see that the man is looking at him with a frown, his phone hovering a few inches away from Luhan’s face. Sehun just smiles. “For our eight-year friendship anniversary. Honestly, Lu, keep up.”

Luhan sits up, the frown on his face still visible, snatching one toast from Sehun’s plate. “Paris? It’s two weeks from now, we won’t get to plan anything with that amount of time. Also, what’s in Paris anyway?”

“It’s the city of love,” Sehun answers, trying to keep his voice from sounding too excited, and swats Luhan’s hand away as the other tries to reach for his coffee on the table, “it’ll be a nice place to celebrate, no? After all, eight years with you isn’t actually a smooth path.”

Luhan studies his face for a moment, possibly looking for any hint of amusement in his face, before chuckling and shaking his head. “You make it sound like we’re celebrating a wedding anniversary.”

“You know me, I always put my one-hundred percent in everything,” Sehun says with a wink. He turns away, places his plate on the beside table, and smiles almost sheepishly. “Plus, I’ve already booked the tickets ahead of time. I just asked because I wanted to be sure.”

There’s a pregnant pause and then all Sehun hears is a gasp followed by hands suddenly cupping his face and soft lips on his own for a quick peck. Luhan leans back, hands still cupping the other male's face. 

“Thank you,” Luhan whispers quietly on his lips with their foreheads attached with each other. 

Sehun smiles and rubs soothing circles on the other man’s cheeks, unaware of the tears forming at the corners of Luhan’s eyes. “Anything for you, Lu. Anything.”
