Yoo Jaeyi
From Zero [DISCONTINUED]After dinner I went straight home even though Hoseok kept asking me to do things for him to stop me from going home. I did his laundry, I do the dishes and I even bought him a plastic bag full of cup ramen. But he kept preventing me from going home.
"Jay... This isn't a joke, right? Am I dreaming? Wait. Am I still in that stinky ward?" Hoseok immediately pinched his left cheek hardly and it made him winced in pain. But still, he did it one more time to make sure it wasn't a dream. "Come again, Jay. I need to make sure if I'm hearing things or not." he added, this time he changed his position closer to me.
"I'm not saying it twice." I muttered, avoiding his look.
"Can you pinch me, Jay?"
I gazed his face for a long time. Then I reached out my hand to his soft cheek, cupping it gently. Our eyes locked, like the time had stopped we stared at each other for approximately five minutes. "It's not a dream, Hoseok."
All of a sudden, he held my hand that still on his cheek. Then he closed both his eyes. "Ah, I miss this."
I snatched my own hand from his and cleared my throat purposely. Then I got up, taking the dishes with me and walked to the sink.
He immediately got up and followed me with his dish and cutlery, struggling as he could only use his left hand. He placed the dish on the counter tops next to the sink. I took a glance at him, still with such a bright smile staring at me. trying hard to ignore his cute gum smile, I grabbed the plate and scrubbed it with a foamy sponge.
"I know you would never give up on us." he held my hand. "I knew it."
I shook my head several times in order to forget what happened in his apartment earlier. So I made myself busy with doing some chores. But as I was doing my laundry, I heard my phone rang. I rushed to the living room and answered the call.
"You changed your password? Let me in."
"Hari? I thought you have night class."
"Let me in. Now."
She hung up and it made me tremble in fear, thinking hard of what did I do to make her that furious. I sprinted to the front door and unlocked it. Then I found Hari who was in red standing in front of me with both her hands on her waist.
"Do you have something to tell me?" her voice was rough, and yet tinged with a hard wonder. Sensing the pain in her, I dared not to look directly into her eyes.
"It's cold outside. Come in first." I made a way for her to enter my apartment and she sprinted to the living room, taking a seat on my small couch. I sighed then closed the door, walking to her who still didn't say any word, waiting for me to give the answer for her previous question.
"Did I do something wrong?" I asked timidly while fiddling my fingers nervously.
"Jaeyi, it's you who did something wrong. You're the one who should say it." she replied with a fake calm tone as I still could sens
