Water. That was the only thing you could feel and see for miles ahead. Each and every one of your senses began reacting to the harsh waves that lashed against your face. You could feel the sting resonating within your lungs as the cold liquid filled your nostrils, but you tried your best to hold your breath and focus on what was important in this situation. Shelter. To your left, you could faintly make out the outline of a cabin and you desperately pushed your exhausted limbs towards that direction, hoping, praying, that you would make it out alive. But just as you were about to swim to safety, you felt a rough pull on your right leg. The strong force caused your petite figure to plunge into the depths of the ocean, abruptly ending any chance of escape. You cried out for help but your hopeless sobs were drowned by the roaring of the freezing water. In a state of shock, your body went into overdrive and your thrashing limbs no longer fought to get away. Your biggest fear was slowly coming to life and no one was there to save you. 

You were helplessly drowning.

You woke with a jolt, sitting upright and throwing the covers off your shaky figure as you quickly searched your surroundings, only to be met with the familiarity of the bedroom you shared with your boyfriend. Your vision was hazy, eyes wet with tears as you tried your best to calm yourself down. But it was no use, your mind was still fixated on the dream which only caused your anxiety to increase tenfold. Your breathing was still heavy, sobs echoing across the room. 

“Sweetheart? Hey…look at me. Whats wrong?” The gentle whisper of your boyfriend’s voice temporarily stopped the disturbing visions. You turned back to see Baekhyun sat upright, eyes filled with concern as he edged closer to your trembling figure. 

“B-Baek, it happened again” You sobbed, small arms reaching out to hold your boyfriend’s large ones. Your voice wavered as your mind began reeling with images of the ocean once again, unable to think of anything else. Baekhyun quickly reacted to your panicked state, clutching the sides of your cheeks as he kneeled to press his forehead against yours.

“You’re not breathing love. Hey, focus on me okay?” He murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. “Its not real.. Just a nightmare. Look at me baby. Im here. I got you.” Baekhyun continued to soothe you, his warm breath tickling your forehead as you both stayed for what felt like hours, wrapped in each others arms, waiting for your panic attack to subside. 

“You’re doing so good baby, keep breathing.”

“Baekhyun… I'm so sorry. I cant believe this happened again.” You caught his eyes, seeing the worry etched across every inch of his face. It was enough to make you look down in shame but Baekhyun quickly tilted your chin upwards and cupped your cheeks, smiling at you softly.

"Baby, don’t apologise. I know you’re worried about me not getting enough sleep but baby, you should know by now that I’d do anything for you. If I could take your stupid nightmares away from you, I would in a ing heartbeat. It pains me seeing you like this, knowing I cant do anything but hold you." He murmured, running his thumb gently across your lips. 

“I love you Baek,” you mumbled in his chest, arms wrapping around his broad waist. "So much." 

“Love you more, baby.” He whispered, kissing your hair before running his hands along your waist and gently tickling your sides, earning a soft giggle from you.
