A Week Later

[Tzuyu side]

We probably ever heard about this phrase, ‘the more you avoid it, the more it will come to you’. And that phrase seems describe the Taiwanese situation right now who’s standing again at the same red door from last week and this time, the worse part is, she’s still wearing her school uniform for Goodness sake! So how did this happen again? Well…

“Please Tzu~ I also don’t want to trouble you but you know that Dahyun and I got an extra class for biology today since our score is below poor! And by the time the class ended it will be too late and you know how dangerous this city is at night! And Monday is our mid-term! How could I proceed without it?!”

“W-well, how about you go back there by yourself tomorrow or the day after tomorrow??”

“I would like to but tonight my parents coming back to Seoul and we’ll have a trip to Sapporo until Sunday night! You know that I rarely got time with my parents… And Dahyun have a tutor who’ll come to her house for 2 days full for the mid-term, her parents won’t allow her to go out…”

Honestly speaking, Tzuyu doesn’t understand of why Chaeyoung needs to take out her student ID card before though?! Then her drunk left it behind?! How if someone found it and report it to their school?!? Tzuyu sighed tiredly, she knows she’s being stupid right now, skipping another cram school and this time she didn’t even tell her mom. But she couldn’t possibly leave Chaeyoung like that, not when she needs her right now. Chaeyoung is not only her best friend but like a sister that she never had, she was there protecting Tzuyu when everybody bullied her just because she’s a foreigner who just moved to Korea.

She was there to help Tzuyu learn Korean, adapt, and even patiently waiting for Tzuyu every morning in front of her house just so they could go to school together since she knows Tzuyu might get lost. And of course even going back home too. Even until to the point that Chaeyoung herself got bullied at the end, but never once the small cub decide to leave her Taiwanese friend. In fact, many times she got bruised here and there just because she got into a fight for defending her tall friend even though Tzuyu repeatedly saying she’s okay but well… Chaeyoung is always hot-headed after all. The opposite of Tzuyu who takes everything calmly and didn’t even bother to fight back.

Now problem is… If she’s going back home first now, her mom would questioned her but how come she get inside while wearing uniform like this?! The Taiwanese pacing back and forth in front of the door until she suddenly see someone going to the alley at the side and…

‘Oh! Is that the back door?!’

Seeing one of the strippers before went inside that door in the alley, the high-schooler immediately look around before she quickly go inside the alley and sneak in to the door. Once she got inside, she could see a long hallway with 1 door at the end of the hallway and another 1 on her right side with a nametag ‘Staff Room’. Without thinking much, Tzuyu immediately open it,

“Excuse me, I wa- wow wow!! I-I’m sorry!!”

*blam!*

The Taiwanese immediately closed the door in a flash the moment she saw several bodies in their birthday suit being present in front of her eyes. Making her face once again equal to a boiled crab as she become panic in an instant upon realizing her own stupid impulsive action,

‘O-oh God!!! T-they won’t report me to the school as some ert students who stalked them, right?! ttt I should have knocked!! Aaahh!!! Stupid Tzuyu!!! AAAHHH!!!’

Tzuyu screamed internally while gripping her head with both hands in panic, totally freaking out, afraid if her reputation got tarnished and definitely byebye scholarship and moreover… What would her parents said about her if they know she come to this kind of place?! The tall beauty scratched her head in frustration until suddenly, the door being opened once more as the Taiwanese automatically snapped her head to the side almost too fast,

“Hey! Look I didn’t mean to-“

“You come back!!! I’ve been waiting for you!! I thought you would never come anymore…”

Tzuyu automatically got taken aback by the sudden grip on both of her shoulders by the woman in front of her who already smiled brightly from ear to ear. Successfully cutting her sentence and forgot what she was about to say although honestly speaking she also feels the joy inside her upon seeing this woman again,

“O-oh… yeah… I umm… I’m here t-to pick my friend’s student ID card… I-I hope it’s still here and nobody report it or whatever…”

A brief silent occurred as the woman tilted her head confusedly until finally she widen her eyes in realization, “Wa-wait… Y-you’re wearing a uniform…. Y-you’re a student?!?!”

Tzuyu nodded shyly as the woman still gaped in disbelief, “I-I… I thought… I mean… Y-you’re so tall and..euh… I-I clearly didn’t expect you to..umm… oh God…  What have I done… thank God I stop it…”

The brunette suddenly massaging her temple, feeling a sudden headache in her head with the newly found fact that she ‘almost’ preying on a student while the tall beauty tilted her head cutely,

“Emm… pardon…??”

The woman immediately turned her attention again with a half-smile, waving her hand frantically,

“O-oh no no! Nothing! A-anyway, I think I remember one of the waitress found a student card before it’s from umm… Hanlim Multi Art School…?”

“Yeah yeah! That one yeah!! You have it?!?!? C-could you give it to me now?!?”

Tzuyu nodded frantically as she’s smiling like a child, being thankful that she doesn’t have to spend more time in this place anymore. However, it seems the brunette in front of her doesn’t share the same idea as her as she smirked and folding her hand in front of her chest with her thinking pose,

“Hmm…Let’s see… I kind of forgot where I put it… Hmmm…”

Tzuyu hang her jaw and grab the woman’s shoulders in panic, “W-what?!?! No!!! You can’t possibly forget!! Please try to remember it!! I-it’s important!! We’re going to have mid-term on Monday!”

Seeing the serious look, the woman bit her lips to hold her laughter, “Hmm… I kind of…remember it but… oh look! It’s time for me to perform soon! Anyway, let’s talk about this later, for now just sit down and enjoy my show, okay?!”

“wha-what?! He-hey! Hey hey!!”

Tzuyu didn’t even have time to answer as the older already dragged her toward the other door at the end of the hallway which is apparently connected to the club and Tzuyu was forced to sit down at the very corner of the room but still can get a clear view of the stage before the woman speak out again,

“This corner is reserved only for me so don’t worry, nobody is going to come here. Just wait for me here, okay?! Oh and here, wear my jacket! Nobody should see you in that uniform! And don’t go anywhere, okay?!”

Without waiting for an answer, she immediately took off her jacket, revealing her glorious figure once more in her revealing clothes and draped the jacket over the younger front body and stormed off to the backstage. Leaving the Taiwanese who’s still unable to react with all of the things that happened so fast in the past 2 minutes.

Tzuyu knows though that she needs to go home in 30 more minutes or else her parents would be worried. She has 2 choices at hand now, waiting the brunette to finish her performance, retrieve the ID card fast and leave then make some excuse to her parents of why she’s coming home late. Or… leaving this place now and come back again tomorrow to retrieve that card since she has no obligation to obey that woman, right? However…

To: 妈妈 (Mama)

“在学校还有事情所以我今天会比较晚回家“ (there’s still something in school so I will be late to go home)

Tzuyu bit her lower lip, unsure if she really needs to send this to her mother. Does she really wants to lie to her mom…again?! She was debating with herself until the tall beauty shut her eyes tight as she pressed the send button and immediately shoved her phone back to her bag, hoping to ease the guilt inside her,

‘Tch! Whatever! I’m NOT doing this because I want to stay here longer. Yeah… definitely no. No reason for me to stay here longer if not because of Chaeng’s ID card. Yeah…relax Tzuyu…inhale…exhale…’

And just like that, the next 30 minutes was no difference than last week where she saw the group of strippers perform and the brunette appear again with her mask on the stage and this time, Tzuyu was damn sure that the woman definitely directing the movement and winking to her on purpose! Because who else at this corner aside from her?! The latter her lips repeatedly which weirdly enough, always got dry whenever she saw the brunette’s performance while internally thanking the dark corner that perhaps…could hide her blush for the entire performance.

30 minutes later

[Crimson Viper side]

“Sooo… How was my performance just now?!”

Tzuyu once again found herself face to face with the woman who already took off her black mask, smile sweetly across of her meanwhile a glass of orange juice and a hotdog being present on the table, exactly the same like last week.

“Umm… You’re good…”

The brunette immediately pouted upon hearing the short answer, “Just good??”

Tzuyu raised her eyebrows confusedly, “What else should I say??”

“Well… I don’t know, maybe like… if I’m beautiful and y on the stage or anything~”

The woman chuckled half-jokingly meanwhile Tzuyu already rolled her eyes, “But you already beautiful and y even without being on the stage”

Tzuyu immediately slapped by the spontaneous answer, totally doesn’t expect the slip out while unbeknown to her, the woman in front of her is even more than surprise. She should be happy and smirking and teasing the girl for praising her beauty and iness, just like she always does when people praised her like that. It’s her habit anyway. But this time she feels…shy as she clear and tucked the strand of hair behind her ear,

“O-of course! I know that! Anyway, I ordered this for you, you like this, don’t you?? Eat up then, don’t worry, it’s my treat”

Tzuyu instantly shook her head vigorously, “N-no! Last time you already treat me! I will pay for this one!”

Tzuyu was about to pull out her wallet until a hand stopping her from doing so, “Please, I can’t let a school girl like you pay for this and I’m the one who makes you stay so just let me do this. I like to see you enjoying your food anyway…”

The Taiwanese was about to open to protest but seeing the determined look on the other woman, she just sighed and nodded before she start to devour the food. And just like before, the woman just smile, watching the younger savoring the taste of the food until she remember the reason of why she hold this girl here right now,

“Oh right! This is your friend’s student ID card, Son Chaeyoung, right? Don’t worry, we didn’t contact the school or anybody since we thought the owner of the card would come back to collect it”

Tzuyu immediately accept it and smiled, that certain dimple smile that makes the brunette start to get addicted into by now,

“Yes. Thank you… We don’t know each other well but you’re so kind to me… You treat me twice and you keep this ID card too… Thank you..um… Miss…?”

The brunette smile widely, this is exactly the ‘real reason’ of why she wants this girl to stay this time,

“Let me introduce myself, I’m Sana. Minatozaki Sana. You can just call me Sana. And you?”

“I’m Chou Tzuyu. And… thank you then… Sana-ssi…”

The brunette just whine while pout cutely like a child, “Noo~~ Just call me Unnie. By the way, your name doesn’t sound Korean and may I know how old are you? Since you’re so tall and all I thought you’re in college…”

Tzuyu continue devouring her hotdog while replying, “Yeah, I’m Taiwanese. I moved here when I was in middle-school and I’m 17. How about you Sana Unnie? Your name doesn’t sound Korean too”

The older woman widened her eyes again even though she already expected it but it still shock her to hear it by herself now,

“So you’re really 12 years younger than me… Oh my God… And yeah, I’m Japanese, I moved here since…around year age now I guess”

The tall beauty nodded plainly as she’s still munching on her hotdog, “I see, but you really don’t look like your age though. You look….young, like in early 20s”

The teasing nature of the Japanese automatically makes her wants to tease the girl as she just pouted again and folding her arms in front of her chest, “So you’re saying that I’m old already?! Well I’m sorry then I can’t choose the time when I born!! Hmph!”

However, the innocent Taiwanese just tilted her head and scratching the back of her head, clearly confused of why the Japanese seems…pissed off…?

“Umm… technically you’re old yeah… but not that old like grandma or something you know! I mean… probably because we have this big between us but euh…yeah don’t worry, it’s not your fault that you’re born around that time…”

Tzuyu smiled sheepishly, unsure with her respond as the older just rolled her eyes tiredly, seems like this girl is not only innocent but also dense and insensitive for sure.

“Emm… Sana Unnie…? Did I say something wrong…?”

“…Nah, no you’re not. Anyway… tell me more about yourself. What’s your plan for the future? You look like a type of student who took school seriously”

The Taiwanese wiped with the tissue as she already finished with the hotdog before answering,

“I’m planning to go to a medic school once I graduate, and I’m aiming for scholarship right now that’s why I need to be serious”

Sana blinks her eyes with surprise evidence in her pretty face, “Wow… Okay… I already expect that you’re kind of…hardworking student but I didn’t expect you’re this smart too. Are you perhaps in scholarship too right now in Hanlim??”

Tzuyu nodded again and turned to face the Japanese beside her, “Yeah… well… my parents is just a regular worker and I still have 3 younger siblings at home so… I want to help them as best as I can”

Sana nodded and smiled softly, unconsciously reminiscing some event in the past. The moment where her father left her when she was 4, leaving her alone with her mother who works hard just to raise her and taking care of her grandmother. Thankfully Sana is a brilliant student as well, she managed to get into high-school with scholarship and even became valedictorian until she also got scholarship for management business and also law in Seoul and there…she met Mina and Momo. She graduated with flying colors in both degrees on early age and manage to work for few years to save up some money until she finally decide to-

“-nie! Sana Unnie!! Hey!! Are you okay?!”

The loud call snapped the Japanese out from her own thought and a bit startled by the close proximity of the younger who already leaned closer while waving her hand in front of Sana with a bit of worried evidence in her face,

“A-ah yeah! Sorry you just… remind me of something in the past…A-anyway, you said you’re going to have mid-term on Monday? Have you prepared yourself with your study??”

On the reminder of her mid-term, the Taiwanese automatically slumped her shoulder and sighed,

“*sigh* Yeah… Well, I should go to cram school today but…since Chaeyoung asked me to get her ID card so… here I am. And I hope I can do well… The exam will be like… 2 weeks and I actually feels a bit unsure this time. I mean, I have studied and reviewed it but I just can’t help but keep worried about it… Like… How if my score drop and I won’t get the scholarship for college…?”

Seeing the younger seems stressed about it, Sana unconsciously pat her head, showing off her warm smile,

“It’s okay… Don’t stress yourself too much, I know you can do it…”

“…how are you so sure… Even I’m not so sure myself…There’s lot of smart people trying their best too moreover this is our last year, I’m sure others are more serious than previous year…”

A brief silent engulfing them before Sana lift the younger chin up and stare into those pair of black orbs,

“Hey… listen to me Tzuyu-ah… I know how it feels… But you know what… It’s useless to keep being worried when the battle hasn’t even started yet. The best that you can do right now is preparing yourself as best as you can and just beat the questions! After that don’t think about it anymore and move on… I believe in you even though you don’t believe in yourself Tzuyu-ah…”

As if she’s being hypnotized by that pair of hazelnut orbs, the Taiwanese unconsciously nodded without breaking the eye contact, making them keep starring in that position for few seconds and nobody dare to move until the younger her sudden dry lips nervously,

“S-Sana Un-“

*Trililing~~ Trililing~~*

A sudden loud ringtone immediately break the spell between them as both immediately back off from each other with a tint of blush adorning their face before the tall beauty fished out her phone in panic,

“S-tt!!! I-it’s my mom! I-euh… I need to go home now. T-thank you again for your treat Sana Unnie! And… see you later…?”

The Taiwanese hurriedly packed her things as she stood up and let her sentence hanging with a question and her eyes keep shooting a hopeful look toward the other who smiled and nodded,

“Yes, see you later Tzuyu-ah… And if you ever want to…vent out your frustration or anything, you know that I’ll always be here. Just say to the guard that you’re my guest. They’ll definitely let you in”

Tzuyu nodded again before she immediately dashed out toward the exit door, with a bright smile adorning her pretty face. This time…another thing invaded her mind,

‘…this place is really not bad at all…’

2 Weeks Later

[Tzuyu side]

*RRRIIIINGGGGG*

In her whole life living as a student, never in her life that Tzuyu feels so grateful upon hearing the loud sound of her school bell. She immediately scratched her arm and body, feeling exhausted but also relieved at the same time because finally…her 2 weeks of hell is over…

‘Yeashhh… finally I can get my beauty sleep and maybe…I could take Gucci out for a walk to the park near the- wait…Hmm…maybe…hmm…’

A new idea popped in her mind as she immediately packed her things with a bright smile on her face while thinking of the impulsive plan until suddenly a familiar voice invading her thought,

“Yo Tzu!! How about we celebrate the end of our hell weeks by going to the arcade today?! And after that you can sleep over at my place and we can play that VR Game together! You know… the one I told you last week?! Beat saber, remember??”

However, the reaction from the Taiwanese is definitely not what Chaeyoung has expected. Usually Tzuyu would always agree and got excited too, because believe it or not, but Tzuyu is apparently a bit of gamer too but this time… She just got silent and shook her head weakly with an apologetic smile,

“I would love to but perhaps not today…”

The unexpected answer of course earning a question from both of her friends who reacts simultaneously,

“Why?!”

Tzuyu gulped down nervously, trying to avoid the prying look of her 2 friends, “Err… I-I have cram school! Remember??”

Chaeyoung raised her eyebrows suspiciously, “I thought you said few days ago that you don’t have cram school in exams week?”

“O-ohh really?! A-apparently I have! T-there’s a sudden change on my schedule! Anyway talk to you later, I might be late if I’m not going now, see you guys!”

The tall beauty immediately sprinted out before her friends could interrogate her any longer toward one specific destination that she never thought she would be back again and this time…she’s the one who willingly wants to go there.

True to Sana’s words, this time, the Taiwanese just need to say the name of the Japanese and the guard immediately let her in, so… here she is. At the same table like last week, watching the same performance again which is of course, Sana’s performance never failed to amaze her. Her movement, her vibe, and even her glance.
