Description

Kyungsoo's suffering from Hanahaki Disease and he knows he has to die, so he's making a decision.

Hanahaki Disease is a disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings, or when the victim dies. It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings for their love also disappear.

I wrote this one-shot in connection to one of my fanarts.

I discourage everyone who's uncomfortable with death or the usage of drugs from reading this story.

 

The quotes are from Egar Allan Poe's "Ligeia" and the title is based on Anna Seward's "Sonnet: To the Poppy".

Chapter 1: Hanahaki Disease - New concept for me, new understanding, and a different point of view.

Even though the story itself has a sad background it was still beautiful and dark at the same time. It's my first time to read such a thing and the whole concept about flowers, colors, and their meanings was really good. I never really viewed flowers like that (maybe because I'm not a big fan of them or not the romantic type in all honesty xD), but still, in this case, I liked it a lot.
