Chapter One: The Routine Life
The BetMy name is Kim Jisoo and I live a very routinary life. I live in an apartment in the City near where I work and I have a roommate named Park Chaeyoung but I call her Rosie. Rosie is not just my roommate, she’s also my best friend since our High School days. Sometimes during the weekends I go home at my parents’ house to spend some time with them, but not every weekend though, as my parents live outside the city of Seoul, it is kind of time consuming to take the commute so I seldom go home. My life is pretty much like this every day, wake up, take a shower, get dressed for work, stop by at a coffee house on the way to work for my daily morning cup of coffee then head straight to the office. It has been like this, every day for the past year, since I graduated College. Sure, I go out with my friends every now and then, since I have a lot of free time after work hours anyways, our apartment is only a 10-minute walk from the office so I often have a lot of free time to spend with my friends after working hours.
I come from an above middle class family (or at least that’s what I normally tell people when they say I’m born rich – because I seriously don’t consider myself as one) where my father handles our family business while my mom is a full time housewife. That said, I pretty much don’t have any problems in life, financially speaking, which is why I could live my life to the fullest every day sometimes even spending way more than how much I earn. Why I live my life this way you ask? Well first of all, I believe in the notion that we don’t really know when we will be doing things for the last time, so I make sure to enjoy every day as much as possible.
