Ha Neul’s POV
“You’re just filth, do you think anyone wants you?” a slap landed on my cheek throwing my already weak body to the floor. The man in front of me, my father who at any point he could would hit me, while my mother simply ignored me as long as she was safe from his wrath. What good was it to live?
That I don’t know…
All I know is that in this life, I’m not going to find my peace and quiet. Years later, my father was in need of a few coins so at the age of nineteen I was sold to a comfort house, a hideous place where you’re forced to please any kind of men, rich, poor, old or young… it didn’t matter as long as we were the most famous.
I might have escaped the hateful behavior of the people that are supposed to protect me but nothing makes better the path I was in at that time Until he appeared in front of me. Eijiro, a Korean artist who welcomed the ways of Japan because his family too betrayed him and the man fate had made for me. He wasn’t a bad man though, no…
He was kind handsome and lovely and the moment he found me he wanted to save me. It all started when he came back to Korea, wanting to sell more of his pieces and the best place to do that was a Comfort House, somewhere where all rich men were more than willing to buy something beautiful… and his art was just that. The day Eijiro came to stay on our property was the day I first saw my destiny. The moment I laid my eyes on him, I felt my heart beating from anxiety.
He was there standing in front of me and I was supposed to take care of him so he wouldn’t have any discomfort whatsoever. “Hello Mr. Eijiro. I’m Ha Na” I introduced myself to him and the connection we felt for each other was so evident it would be impossible to not see. “Hello Ha Na…” even though I didn’t know him and he didn’t know me I felt for the first time free and wanted. Throughout all the weeks he stayed there, there was not a day I left his side, partly because I didn’t want to but also because Eijiro only wanted me.
We had gotten really close, and he knew my background. I could tell he pitied me but not just because of his empathy but also because he wanted me.
In the end he decided to take me with him back to Japan.
The night of our departure, he helped me fool everyone and we ran away together. He had promised to be my strength and I had trusted him. “You should really get up from bed now you sleepyhead” Eijiro had entered my room one morning one year after we left together.
We still couldn’t call each other a lover, but friends we were. I liked it both ways as he’d do anything for me I was treated like a human for once and only Eijiro could make me feel like that. “It’s so early, do I really have to?” he nodded his head pinching my nose and endearing action he was doing lately, something that showed me that feelings were starting to develop. “Or could it be that we have work to do?” For the past year I’ve been helping with everything I possibly can. I’ve been taking care of his most loved stuff and I’ve even posed for him.
He says that he loves drawing me and that I give him motivation to do more and more. Truth was,
