“Youngbin, your mom and I will be leaving for a month long vacation. Take care of your siblings, okay?” Yonghwa told his son while they were having dinner.

“One month? I’ll miss you mom.” Joohyun was touched with her daughters sweetness and hugged her tight.

“It’s been years since your dad and I had a vacation on our own. Since you guys are now old enough to be left alone, I think it’s time for your dad and I to enjoy some alone time.” Joohyun explained to her daughter.

“One month of freedom!!!” Chani exclaimed and everyone laughed at him. “By the way hyung,” Chani continued, “I really want to join your crew. Please let me be part of your group!”

Youngbin has been leading a dance crew since he started college. He started doing it with his friends and now there were eight of them in the group. His mom and her bestfriend opened a dance studio and that is where he and his friends would practice until their bones are nowhere to be found.

“How many times do I have to tell you “No”? I don’t want you to join my crew. I want you to concentrate on your studies.” Youngbin told Chani.

“But you’re as old as I am when you started your group. I’m a good dancer. No, I’m a great dancer!”

“You should let him join your crew oppa. He’s been practicing hard and you know that he’s very responsible with his studies.” Chani smiled at his noona and silently thanked her for helping him.

“Why don’t you let Chani join your group? I want your real answer.” Yonghwa asked his eldest son.

“Dad, I just don’t want him to have a hard time. Dancing in a crew is not easy. You have to spend a lot of time and it will really make you very tired. I just don’t want my baby brother to experience hardship. It’s as simple as that.” Youngbin explained himself.

“I’m not a baby.” Chani said.

“No you’re not.” Joohyun told her youngest. “Youngbin, I know you mean well but I think you’re losing out by not letting your brother join. I assure you, he is a great dancer. Maybe even better than you.” Joohyun then thought of something, “Is that the reason why you don’t want him to join? You’re scared that he’d be better than you?” She asked her son.

“No mom. You know I’m not like that. I really just don’t want him to have a hard time.”

Yonghwa and Joohyun looked at each other and then Joohyun gave Chani a sad smile. She can see that Chani was really mad with his hyung.

“By the way mom and dad. Can I ask you something?” Yuju said trying to change the topic for she too doesn’t want her brothers to fight.

“What is it  honey?” Yonghwa asked his daughter.

“There’s this boy in class and he’s a really nice guy. I think he likes me too. Is it okay to go on a date with him if he asks me out?” Yuju carefully asked while looking at her dad.

Yonghwa looked at her daughter with worry in his eyes. He was about to say something when suddenly,

“No! Absolutely not!” Youngbin said.

Everyone was surprised at his sudden outburst. Yonghwa was relieved with his eldest’s reaction. Joohyun was puzzled and Chani was skeptical. Yuju then looked at her oppa and asked, “Why not?”

“I have to meet him first.” Youngbin explained.

“What if you already know him?” Yuju challenged him.

“Then he’s not good enough?” Youngbin answered.

“What do you mean by that?” Yuju exclaimed.

“I mean, I don’t know anyone who deserves my perfect sister.”

“Oh my. She’s far from being perfect.” Chani said and Yuju kicked him. “Ouch! What was that for?” He asked his sister.

“Mom! Dad! I’ll just ask you two. His opinion doesn’t count.” Yuju told her parents.

Joohyun looked at her husband and saw that mischievous twinkle in his eyes. She just shook her head.

“Honey, your oppa’s opinion counts. So if he will let you date, then you can date him. Get his permission while we are gone.” Yonghwa told her daughter.

“Then be prepared to become a spinster noona.” Joohyun laughed at her youngest’s words.

After dinner Yuju knocked at Chani’s door.

“Yeah?” Chani asked his noona.

“Let’s help each other.” Yuju said. “I know you are planning something to make oppa give his permission to join his crew. I’ll help you with your plan but I want you to help me too. Oppa’s just too much.”

“He’s more protective than dad and mom.” Chani said.

“You can say that again. So, are we good?” Yuju asked.

“Yeah. Here’s the plan.”
