Honestly, fairy tales do exist in reality, or at least people think they do. 

Ingredients for a fairy tale? 

Handsome and rich prince charming.
Average-looking girl with a poor family background.
One/Two third characters that mess everything up.
Some misunderstandings that break the male and female lead up.
Some drama-mama incidents that make people bawl their eyes out, that dramatic reunion.

And wala~ You have your fairy tale and the happily-ever-after. 

For this story, let's see if it fulfills the criteria... 

Handsome and rich prince charming? Checked, albeit his personality is a tad bit too nasty.
Average-looking girl with a poor family background? Consider it checked, though she's much more than just average-looking. 
One/Two third characters that mess everything up? Without a doubt.
Some misunderstandings that break the male and female lead up? Misunderstandings? I think they know each other too well to be misunderstood.
Some drama-mama incidents that make people bawl their eyes out, that dramatic reunion? Oh, trust me. Tear-jerking moments are essential, whether fairy tales or not.

So.... Do you consider this as a fairy tale? 

I would consider this to be NOT your typical kind of fairy tales, but I guess there would be moments that would make you go 'awww, that's sweet' or 'what?! that's horrible!'.
