Awkward. Jungkook realized he has never fully appreciated the meaning and sentiments behind the word ‘awkward' until he found himself sitting in the lush living room of Kim's humungous Mansion. Not only the ageing man- pro-claimed as Jungkook's grandfather- was oozing obstinate vibes, but Jungkook could also feel this giant elephant of tension in the air- which, weirdly enough, all the elders were pointedly ignoring. Furthermore, it didn't help Jungkook's case that Jimin had disappeared after the general introduction while Taehyung sat there, acting like a breathing statue. Jungkook and Taehyung's eyes would collide from time to time, but it was transparent to younger dual-core Alpha that Taehyung kept himself mute due to the present company. Another interesting case was Jung Hoseok, whom- if Jungkook had not already met earlier- he might have pegged as the gloomiest person in existence. The radiating smile Jungkook had seen on elder Omega's face just yesterday was painfully forced right then. "So young man," The eldest among them spoke and it was obvious to Jungkook who might be the next victim to his grandfather's monologue. "I see you are growing into a fine lad. I truly hope you don't plan on following your father's footsteps into becoming a doctor. Now, doctors are good and all but I personally respect the person who owns the whole hospital and hires doctors rather than being employed under a rich man. Being business owners had always been a strong point in our family. Petty jobs at low scale are for idiots. But then again, some jobs are better than others. I mean at least being a doctor is better than being a journalist or writer, whose pen-name only make its identity and people forget about that rather quickly too." Jungkook was not known for his bad temper. He was never that kind of Alpha who would combust at mere cheek from others. He was taught to fight for the right cause. Thus, Jungkook smiled- more like an amuse smirk- as he turned to stare straight in those pitless black eyes before muttering, "My father is a doctor and my dad is a writer… and I believe they are the best people in the world. Especially my dad; since his writing helps people around the globe." An uncomfortable silence followed Jungkook's brief words. Nonetheless, Jungkook was satisfied as he flashed a smile to his dad. Yoongi himself was having a hard time keeping his face straight. Having two Alpha parents, Jungkook was almost always confused who might be his ‘mother' figure. But with the type of occupation Yoongi chose for himself, naturally meant the petite Alpha staying in the house more often than Seokjin. Jungkook would claim he loved either of his parents equally but there was a part of him that held softer, more Omega-like, feelings for Yoongi. The young Alpha was unsurprisingly more protective of Yoongi. Therefore, the one thought Jungkook held before entering this foreboding house was defending his dad as much as he could. "What's your ambition then?" The old man inquired sharply, eyebrows drew together. Jungkook's answer had obviously irritated the man. "Find a hot Omega," Jungkook shrugged nonchalantly. "Produce a ton of cute babies and increase the world population, I guess." The room grew mute at Jungkook's impertinence, except Taehyung who was frantically trying to make his sniggers disguised as wild fit of coughing. Nonetheless, Jungkook, pleased with his stupid answer, beamed at his grandfather. "Jungkook," Seokjin rebuked in a low voice, his eyebrows pulled together in a grimace. "But this is exactly what you have been telling me since I turned sixteen, father," Jungkook pouted at his Alpha father. "Find yourself an Omega and settle in life, didn't you say that?" "This is not what-" Seokjin started but was cut off by the old man. "No, no Jin, it's fine," Surprisingly the Mayor was smiling, all teeth gleaming in the brightly lit living room of the Mansion. Abruptly, Jungkook's stomach turned at that ominous smile. "He is a young man with needs. I like the way he thinks; finding a beautiful female Omega and settling is also very important for a reputed Alpha. Besides, it's not like Jungkook needs to practically invest his life in any occupation at all. He has his family business to return to, right?" "Excuse me?" Yoongi parted his lips the first time that night. But the dark frown and stormy expressions on the Alpha's face were not for Kim Seokjoon but rather his husband for twenty years now. Yoongi's dark eyes held promises even Jungkook was scared to discover. As discreetly as possible, Jungkook reached to give a reassuring squeeze to Yoongi's thigh. "Whenever he feels like, that is," The Mayor waved away his hand in dismissal, not even bothering to directly address Yoongi. Shoulders tense, lips pulled in a snarl, Jungkook noticed the way Yoongi frenziedly tried to get himself under control. They all knew this was not a place for confrontation. "I alleged that was Taehyung's place though," Namjoon said in a low rumble. The tall male was looking at his brother with a scowl. "I am sure Seokjin is here for a few days at most. They won't leave their city life in a hurry. Right, brother?" Jungkook waited for a length of a heartbeat and when Seokjin didn't opt to reply in affirmative the young Alpha took the matters in his own hands, "Of course. We are only here for three months." "Long enough for Jungkook to find a mate," Yoongi carried on with his son's words, giving a small hesitant smile to Namjoon and Hoseok. "It's not easy to find a mate in the city full of humans, you know." "O-of course," Hoseok muttered, giving a side glance to Namjoon. "I think I should go and check if the dinner is ready." With these quick words, the only Omega among the group of Alphas scuttled away. The suffocating silence left behind was rattling Jungkook's inner soul. He couldn't help but wonder what was going on. Jungkook prided himself in understanding a person and said person's agenda once he meets them. Unfortunately, tonight was a different case. Kim Seokjoon was a man of many veils, apparently. Jungkook exhaled a sigh of relief when a maid appeared, announcing that dinner was served. The dining area was humungous, just like the rest of the house. The long oak table for at least twenty people lays in the center. The crème color curtains hung at the entrance while the walls were covered in portrait paintings. Jungkook stopped short when he recognized his own face on one of those painting. The face staring back at him could not be more than fifteen, wearing a rather ugly hairstyle. He knew about me long ago, Jungkook mused mentally, trying his best not to show astonishment or shock on his face. Yet the fact remained, Kim Seokjoon was not supposed to know about Jungkook's mere existence. Seokjin and Yoongi had been disowned from Woodfield the moment they marked each other's soul and tied themselves in a mated bond. For last twenty years, Seokjin never looked back at his home town… never encountered with anyone… but it was crystal clear, the aging man had his eyes on Seokjin and his family for years now. Jungkook waited for his grandfather to take the exclusive head-seat on the table, followed by Seokjin and Namjoon, who sat on either side of their father. Yoongi, looking dejected, went ahead to sit beside Seokjin thus naturally Jungkook went to sit on left of his dad. Hoseok stood behind Namjoon, looking a little undecided. The Omega nudged Namjoon from behind while muttering in a low voice, which Jungkook- being the dual-core Alpha- could unmistakably hear. "What about Jimin?" Hoseok whisper was nothing but hush breathes. "Send his food to his room," Jungkook's grandfather snapped, taking everyone by surprise. Suddenly, Jungkook recalled Taehyung telling him he and his grandfather were the only dual-core Alphas in Woodfield. Without a doubt, the old man's senses were as sharp as Taehyung and Jungkook's. "Father," Namjoon looked unpleased at his father's statement. "We have guests over. It would be nice if Jimin can join us tonight, for a change." It was apparent the Mayor thought otherwise. However, the elder man gave permission rather reluctantly. After only five minutes a puzzle looking Jimin appeared. Taehyung, who was sitting opposite to Jungkook, jumped up to offer Jimin the seat with a wide boxy smile. Behind Jimin's back, Taehyung winked at Jungkook. The latter couldn't help but snort and roll his eyes. Whatever could Taehyung be thinking? It's not like Jungkook wanted Jimin to sit right in front of him. Yet, Jungkook couldn't governor his eyes from raking over Jimin's round pink cheeks, plump lips prodding more than ever and Omega's tiny hands peeking through his sweater's long sleeves. The Omega was kind of cute, Jungkook mused cerebrally before softly cursing under his breath for even entertaining such a thought. Jungkook reminded himself that Jimin was actually a devil's spawn who ruled the WW High like nobody's business. Still, Jungkook looked over Jimin's down casted eyes right then and felt a twitch in his guts. Surprisingly, the dinner was not as suffocating as the interrogation in the living room had been. Hoseok gained enough courage to strike a conversation with Yoongi. As Jungkook listened to a snippet of it he was pleasantly surprised to realize Hoseok and Yoongi had been friends back in their youthful days. The Omega talked about a few old friends of theirs and Seokjin joined in with a friendly smile shining on his face. Namjoon's hostility lifted as well and he filled his brother in about recent happening around the town. Jungkook and Taehyung shared an arch brow in amusement. The only one silently eating, or more like busy separating olives and peas out of his dinner, was Jimin. The Omega sat with a pout tugging on his lips as he dragged peas and olives out of his pasta and glared at them like they personally offended him. If Jungkook's entire attention was not on Jimin, he might have missed the nudge Hoseok gave to his Omega son, silently telling him to eat his vegetables. Jimin tired giving lost puppy eyes to his Omega Parent but Hoseok was not having any of that and purposefully added more vegetables on Jimin's plate. Jungkook sniggered at Jimin's betrayed expressions. The Omega looked up then, glaring at Jungkook like it was young Alpha's fault. The moment Hoseok turned back to the conversation between the elders, Jimin discreetly reached for the last piece of chicken cutlet on the table. Just when Jimin's chopstick enclosed the piece, his grandfather spoke up, "Jungkook, take the last piece of chicken cutlet. You are a growing Alpha, you need your protein. Jimin put it on Jungkook's plate." Displeased, the Omega silently placed the cutlet on Jungkook's plate, right beside the other two fried chicken pieces Jungkook already had. The Alpha frowned at his grandfather and couldn't believe the old man may possibly go to such extent to create discrimination against the Omega. Jungkook wondered what exactly was the problem with the old man. From what Jungkook had heard from his father, his grandfather used to love his Omega mate to pieces. "I actually like vegetables more than the meat," Jungkook declared, reaching forward to swap his plate with Jimin's. The Omega gapped when a plate filled with chicken and beef sat before him while Jungkook happily dug into the discarded peas and olives. "Jimin needs his strength more than me, anyway, what with his Omega Union duties in school. He sure works hard." "Does he?" His grandfather inquired, venom dripping from his tone. "Yes," Jungkook leveled to meet elder Alpha's gaze. "I was informed of all rules and regulation of our town on the very first day of school, thanks to Jimin. He takes his job rather seriously." "He sure does," Taehyung muttered without any sarcasm or malice as he too put his beef meat on Jimin's plate. The Omega looked up, eyes shining in happiness. "Eat up my dear brother, you need all the strength." The tense moment was broken when Namjoon started a political topic and all elders got distracted by that. Jimin, shamelessly, dug into his food and Jungkook was forced to eat the vegetables he despised normally. The Alpha could feel Yoongi's knowing eyes on him, yet Jungkook's pride refused to crumble thus he stuffed his cheeks with the green vegetables and slowly chewed on them. ing peas! "I wonder how you… umm?" Abruptly Jungkook snapped his attention on Omega Hoseok who was talking to Yoongi but shyly gestured toward Jungkook. The young Alpha immediately realized what the Omega was curious about. Most people are. They see two Alphas' in relation and wonder how Jungkook came into their life. "Adoption?" Namjoon injected helpfully, blatant. "Surrogated Omega actually," Seokjin explained, a tiny smile gracing his plump lips as he gazes proudly at Jungkook- a fruit of his and Yoongi's love, as the Alpha would say a lot. "We are lucky to have a blessing like him, to be honest." "Your seeds-" Immediately Hoseok slapped a hand over his mouth like the Omega realized he had asked something rather personal. But Jungkook could tell Hoseok was genuinely curious about Jungkook's background. "I am so sorry; I didn't mean to be so rude." "It's fine, Hobi," Seokjin assured good-naturedly smiling at the panicking Omega. "Actually, we used both mine and Yoongi's… we don't know whose seed actually worked and truthfully, neither do we want to find out. Yoongi and I agreed to not bother with that fine detail. Jungkook is our son, that is all that matters." "Anyone with eyes can tell he is your son, Seokjin," Jungkook's grandfather threw casually, looking over at Jungkook with his dark pitch eyes. "He could be a carbon copy of yours. And the fact that he is a dual-core Alpha. It's a gene possess by Kim's, I am sure you would remember." Jungkook noticed Yoongi's hand tightly clutching the spoon in his hand. The silverware started to bend slightly when Seokjin spoke up, "Jungkook is more like Yoongi, to be honest. His habits and hobbies are a literal copy of Yoongi's." "Hobbies can be picked," Seokjoon snorted in an arrogant manner. "No father, not entirely," Seokjin argued and Jungkook could see a vein working on his father's forehead. "Yoongi loved photography in his youth days but gave up on it once we moved to the city, yet Jungkook is photography enthusiastic now. I see more Yoongi in him if anything." "Doesn't change the fact that Jungkook is a Kim," The Mayor grounded hotly. "But, Jungkook doesn't have a surname," Jimin murmured instinctively. But the way the Omega's face drained of all color, Jungkook could tell the Omega was not allowed to in the conversations, in general. "Of course he does!" Seokjoon snapped at the tiny Omega, making Jimin flinch. Consequently, a growl rumbled deep in Jungkook's chest. Yet the old man chose to ignore him. "What a stupid Omega like you would know. He is Kim J-" "Jimin is right, though," Yoongi cut off the Mayor, cold eyes clashing with the pitch black of the old man. "We gave Jungkook the freedom to choose whichever surname he fancied out of mine or Seokjinnie's name. He is not a Kim, as of now." "That is absurd!" The old man cried, throwing his hand up in frustration. "Jungkook, I expect a more sensible approach on this matter from you. What do you have to say?" Brusquely, all eyes turned to seek Jungkook's face. The young Alpha, who was busy looking at Jimin's face till now found his eyes locking with Jimin's chocolate brown ones. The Omega blinked innocently, looking soft and fragile. Yet Jungkook knew that was not the case. Jimin was repressed by their grandfather in this household if given the chance the Omega was strong and ready to face any Alpha out there. In general, Jungkook was brought up to respect Omegas and there was one Omega he adored the most. "Jeon," Jungkook said slowly, eyes still locked with Jimin's. The young Omega frowned in confusion at the foreign name. In excruciatingly slow motion, Jungkook turned his head to look at his parents before meeting Seokjoon's eyes. "Jeon Jungkook. I have decided to take my Omega mother's surname. She is a Jeon, but I am sure you would already know that." The Mayor's lips pulled back in a silent snarl, yet Jungkook didn't back off from the challenging gaze. He was a ing dual core Alpha! He won't crumble to anyone's authority. "Jungkook, what are you even uttering?" Seokjin demanded, looking peeved at Jungkook's answer. "We clearly told you that you can elect between Kim or Min. Jeon is not even the option." "But I like it," Yoongi contradicted his husband's words, reaching a hand to tread his fingers through Jungkook's tussle locks in a loving manner. "Jeon suits you. It sounds nice with your name. Jeon Jungkook." Jungkook's chest filled with warmth at Yoongi's genuine smile. It seemed like the young Alpha killed two birds with one stone. Not only was he able to render Kim Seokjoon speechless but he was able to make his dad happy. And that's all that counted. The rest of the dinner passed in sour silence. Jungkook very much looked forward for the night to come to an end. The young Alpha skipped out of the house once the time came for departure. Their host came to see them off on the porch. It was just when their car arrived that Kim Seokjoon dropped a bomb on them. "It's unreasonable to live all alone in the middle of the jungle when you have a family house, Seokjin," The old man necessitated. "I expect you to move in the Mansion in a couple of days. I would like to enjoy your and Jungkook's company while you are here." Seokjin looked around at Yoongi and Jungkook, but the two were as taken aback by the offer as was Seokjin. However, the Alpha nodded at his father and accepted the offer with a humble bow. Bidding everyone goodnight, the family of three climbed the car. With the amount of anger oozing out of Yoongi and the sighs leaving Seokjin's lips, Jungkook knew it was gonna be a long night. O-o-o-o-O Yoongi closed the car door with a loud snap, making both Seokjin and Jungkook to jump, as soon as the sleek black Mercedes made it to the driveway of their temporary house. The pair of father and son shared a worried look before stumbling out of the car. Yoongi was pacing the length of the lounge like an angry bull. The petite male turned sharply and glared at his husband for a moment before addressing Jungkook. "Jungkook, get your stuff, we are leaving this godforsaken place right this instant," Yoongi growled. "Yoongles, don't be like that-" Seokjin started, taking cautious steps toward his fuming husband. "Don't you ing call me by the name you use when you make love to me, Kim Seokjin!" Yoongi roared in reply. "What the-! TMI!!!!" Jungkook shouted in horror, his brown eyes bulging. He loved his parents, he truly did… but he hated the fact that they had no shame when it comes to their love life. It was both Seokjin and Yoongi's weird belief since Jungkook was of age already thus it was all right to talk frankly about their love life in front of him. "I am going to bed. You guys work it out between you two!" "Not a chance!" Yoongi stomped down on young Alpha's plan readily, moving to drag Jungkook back in the lounge and forcing him to take a seat on the sitter. "You are part of this issue more than anyone. Kim Seokjoon is a dangerous man and I never wanted him to know about your existence, but of course, we failed in that aspect. Now tell me honestly, do you wanna stay here and get roped into the mess of Woodfield?" "No, of course not, but I don't wanna leave right now either," Jungkook put forward his opinion. By then Seokjin had worked enough courage to come and stand beside a pissed off Yoongi, carefully putting a hand on his short husband's shoulder. The other angrily shook away the hand before rounding on his husband. "What have you been planning, Seokjin? Tell me," There was clear urgency lacing Yoongi's tone. Jungkook was surprised to notice a hint of fear flashing across his dad's fair features. "You had an agenda behind our sudden move. I could feel it from the start. But I won't let you scarify our son." "Yoongi, I would never let any harm come to Jungkook," Seokjin said earnestly, eyes filled with incredulity. "What is it then? Tell me," Yoongi urged, with eyes hard and mouth thin. "Why are we here, Seokjin?" Seokjin took a moment to gulp, looking from Yoongi to Jungkook and then back to his husband. The slight anxiety behind Seokjin's brown orbs spoke volume. Yet Jungkook needed to hear from his father's lips, the flagrant truth. "The blue night is fast approaching," Seokjin started and Yoongi's gasp echoed in the otherwise quiet room. However, Jungkook looked between his parents like a clueless child. "What's a blue night?" Jungkook voiced his jumble thoughts. "I can't ing believe you!" Yoongi exclaimed, throwing a feeble punch against Seokjin's chest. "You kept tracks of it? But why?" "I am the eldest child of Kim's," Seokjin grounded. "It's rightfully my place, not Namjoon's." "What is going on?" Jungkook pouted against his better judgement. He didn't want to come off like a small kid. But his parents were apparently in their own world, talking in riddles. "Excuse me, but I am here too. Mind filling me in? What is a blue night? What place is father talking about, dad?" Yoongi exhaled shakily, before turning to face his son. The petite Alpha's black eyes looked troubled but he parted his lips anyways before muttering, "Blue night is the night when the new leader of a clan is chosen. A blue moon arrives after every seven years or so. Once five blue moons are sighted, a new leader is chosen on the night of the fifth blue moon." "Okay…" Jungkook tilted his head, scrunching his nose cutely. "Not as exciting as I was hoping but-" "The fifth blue moon since my father became the leader of Woodfield clan is in three months from now," Seokjin enlightened the younger one. "The leadership of this town's werewolves had been under Kim's for centuries now. Father would make sure it remains like that even after this." "Oh!" Jungkook's lips made a round ‘o' of understanding as he nodded. "Being the first born Kim, you want the leadership for yourself, father? Is that it? Then what is the big deal? This has nothing to do with me." "It has everything to do with you," Yoongi murmured, throwing a glare at Seokjin. "Jungkook, didn't you see the way your supposed grandfather was showing so much interest in you? That's exactly why your father here wanted to bring you along." "I don't understand," Jungkook admitted in all honesty, making Seokjin heave a deep sigh. "You don't? But don't worry, your father would explain to you… won't you Seokjin?" sarcasm dripped through Yoongi's spat words. Seokjin, however, frowned at his husband. "Fine! I would tell him then. You see Jungkook, your father and I were disowned long ago. If he was to return now on his own, his father wouldn't bother looking at him twice. That's where you come in… his son… a dual core Alpha drumming with Kim's blood and genes." "Yoongi, come on!" Seokjin threw up his hands in the air, frustrated. "We don't even know if Jungkook holds my DNA or your-" "Don't we?" Yoongi challenged, leaving both Seokjin and Jungkook speechless. "If we had any doubt, it was evaporated tonight, thanks to your father, Seokjin. The way he was going out of his way for Jungkook, I wouldn't be surprised if he had secretly run a DNA test to confirm whose created Jungkook. Heck, did you see Jungkook's portrait in the dining room? It was when he was thirteen; I remember that bowl cut hairstyle he used to have back then." Against his better judgement, Jungkook couldn't help but blush recalling those terrible days. Why was he so bad at fashion and style back then? "Seokjin, even your portrait was nowhere to be seen. Don't take me for a fool. I understand these things better than anyone. Your father sees a leader, a future ruler, in Jungkook. But I won't allow this town and its society to turn Jungkook into a heartless monster like your father!" "Dad, I don't think you have all the details down just yet," Jungkook argued, not entirely seeing the logic in Yoongi's words and thoughts. "Let's say I am a really powerful Alpha and grandfather needs me on his side, but that doesn't change the fact that Taehyung is also a dual-core Alpha. He has lived all his life here. He is a better candidate anyway." Yoongi's lips tilted in a sad smile. The petite Alpha, suddenly looking tired and worn out, came to sit beside his son. Raising his head to gesture toward Seokjin he muttered, "I think your father can explain that better." Seokjin contemplated what to say and what to hold back, as he too treaded toward the pair of Alphas and took the seat on the other side of Jungkook. Giving a squeeze to Jungkook's thighs, the elder Alpha started, "Namjoon and Hoseok mated before Yoongi and I did. It was only because my father knew about my affair with Yoongi that Namjoon was not thrown out of the house." "Why would he be disowned?" Jungkook asked, suddenly curious about many things. "He married an Omega, didn't he?" "Yes. But a male Omega," Yoongi replied, tone forlorn. "About a century ago, male Omegas were considered an abomination and buried alive the moment they were born." "What?" Jungkook exhaled shakily, baffled to learn the twist in the story. Was it because he had been brought up among humans? Is that why he was unaware of this part of werewolves' cruelty? "That's terrible." "It was," Seokjin agreed. "But things changed when female Alphas were unable to reproduce since their inner Alpha refused to bind soul with another Alpha. After that, male Omegas were allowed to live. Their sole purpose was to satisfy the needs of a Female Alpha. But the twist of fate had Female Alphas in a rather limited amount. Naturally, a male Alpha would feel attracted toward a male Omega. No one could fight nature when a male Omega imprinted on a male Alpha or vice versa. Things changed… people changed their way of thinking… but unfortunately, not all." "Grandfather?" Jungkook tried guessing. "My whole family even before that," Seokjin enlightened the younger one, throwing his head down in shame. "Even my grandfather, who was the previous leader of Woodfield Clan, refused to acknowledge the male Omegas worthy of same affection and status as female Omegas. Since fertility with male Omegas was lesser in comparison to female Omegas. A male Omega, on average rate, can only produce one offspring of their own, which technically means a massive decrease in population of our species." "But your brother has like two," Jungkook pointed out; he was confused when he saw both his parents frown. "That is strange," Yoongi muttered, scratching a non-itchy spot on his chin, deep in thoughts. "We didn't know Namjoon and Hoseok had two kids to begin with. But I guess it was your grandfather's doing. Not acknowledging Jimin as part of his family when he was born." "I was thinking along the same line," Seokjin confessed. "I remember hearing the news of Namjoon's Alpha son but nothing more than that. Nevertheless, a male Omega being able to produce twins is rare, yet not unheard of. Therefore, I believe Namjoon and Hoseok having two kids is a blessing for them." "But, Jimin is treated like in that house," Jungkook spat unintentionally, hands balled in a tight fist. "Dad, I know you won't like it, but I think we should move into the Mansion." Yoongi's rolled his eyes, a smile tugging on his lips before saying, "I knew this was coming my way. I could tell you were so whipped for the Omega boy, of course, you would want to live in that ominous Mansion." "I am not whipped," Jungkook complained childishly pouting at his laughing parents. "You ate ing peas for his sake," Yoongi pointed out with a raised brow while Seokjin sniggered. "I know you, my boy." Jungkook flushed slightly, rendered speechless at Yoongi's reply. "And… how can you say ‘Omega boy'? He has a name. Dad, you don't have any problem with a male Omega, do you?" "Of course not!" Yoongi exclaimed, appalled, before giving a small shove to his son. "But I do have a problem with you dotting on Jimin like that. You said Taehyung was a better candidate than you? No, my dear boy, you were given birth by a female Omega, naturally, your grandfather holds you in higher esteem. Kim Seokjoon sees a potential leader in you, Jungkook; he won't appreciate you standing up for Jimin's sake. A male Omega, he clearly despises, as you saw tonight." "But-" "No Jungkook," Yoongi shook his head and stopped his son from saying anything. Looking dejected the elder Alpha patted Jungkook's shoulder. "I know you would say you can do as you please and no one is the boss of you. But in this scenario, the reason why I would ask you to be careful around Jimin is for sake of that young boy. According to your grandfather, an Alpha is never wrong… somehow it's gonna be Jimin's fault for appealing you." "That's absurd!" Jungkook exclaimed, looking mad at the conservative thinking of old folks of the town. "But, unfortunately, the truth," Seokjin sighed. "Also, the reason why I wanted to come back and claim the position of a new leader. Things need to be changed around here and I was scared the people of this town must be living in same old conventional thinking as before." "But the jokes on you, Seokjin," Yoongi singsonged, looking highly happy about something. "Even if Namjoon becomes the leader, I am sure he would work for male Omegas rights. He has an Omega son for crying out loud. You don't necessarily need to take this responsibility anymore." "Not entirely, Yoongles," Seokjin patiently smiled at his husband, making Yoongi feel like a small naive child. "Now I have all the more reasons to want to be the leader. Don't you see, father is never gonna let Namjoon take the reign. He knows Namjoon is bound to hold a soft spot for his own son… and mate." "There is still Taehyung since Jungkook would never ever agree to be held up in this town for longer than necessary," Yoongi tried to argue but he was stopped short by his son's insistent head shaking. Jungkook was suddenly hit by a certain thought and started to see why Kim Seokjoon had been hell-bent on getting in Jungkook's good books tonight. "Taehyung likes a male Omega," Jungkook enlightened his parents. The young Alpha knew it was wrong to out someone's secret but he realized it was necessary to bring his parents at the same platform as him. "Dad… something tells me things are way more complicated here than we imagined. I never told you guys but I saved an Omega from an attack in the woods. That Omega was the same Omega Taehyung likes." "You don't mean…" Seokjin blinked rapidly, mind whirling at a constant speed. "I think grandfather was behind that attack," Jungkook grounded confidently. The moment those words slipped past his lips, Jungkook felt the weight of epiphany digging on his conscious now. Suddenly, Jimin's dual personality from the school grounds to Kim's Mansion started making more sense. Hoseok had said the rules in Kim Mansion were not made by Jimin… something told Jungkook the rules in the school grounds were also not made by Jimin but rather Jimin was merely a puppet being used to make sure Alphas and Omegas were kept at bay from each other. Seemed like, Kim Seokjoon was abusing his authority as the Mayor of Woodfield Town. "I see we are joining the of this town, anyways," Yoongi threw up his hands in surrender. "But for a record, I would still say, this fight is not ours. Thus, if I found either one of us getting hurt in the process of saving the Omegas of the town, we all are pulling out and leaving this place for good. Please promise me at least this much." Jungkook and Seokjin shared a look, an understanding before the younger one turned to face Yoongi. Carefully hugging the petite male, Jungkook whispered, "Nothing would happen to us, dad, don't worry." Yoongi nodded against his chest, muttering soft curses at Seokjin nevertheless. Jungkook smiled while Seokjin could only pout. And it was when Jungkook had made his way to his bedroom, after a quick bath the Alpha found himself laid down on his bed, that he heard from downstairs, "Out of all the people of the town, he just had to fall for Namjoon's son, didn't he!" "What's wrong with that?" Seokjin challenged. "He is a Kim, that's what's wrong," Yoongi retorted. "Like I don't have to put up with one Kim already, now another Kim is barging in my life." "Min Yoongi, you take that back!" Seokjin screamed but Jungkook could tell there was a hint of mirth in his father's tone. "Or what?" Yoongi pushed, his voice going soft as well. "Oh babe, you have no idea what you signed up for," Seokjin drawled, voice all deep and husky. "Tonight, I am gonna keep you on edge all night long and you would be begging-" Jungkook jumped off his bed with profanity on his lips as he desperately searched for his headphones and music player. Sometimes, Jungkook despised the fact that his parents loved each other a little too much. He swear he and Jimin would never- "Damn!" Jungkook cussed, body stiffening in surprise. Why would such a thought even cross his mind? For him to think about the Omega in this way- unbelievable! "Jimin is right! We Alphas are just erts!" O-o-o-o-O The next Monday morning found Jungkook treading the school hallways with one of his eyes closed. He was literally sleep-walking through the faintly buzzing corridor. Jungkook shook his head to clear away the drowsiness once he reached his locker. The ancient thing was being difficult that particular morning, marginally raising Alpha's temper. Last two nights had been rather rough. Even with high-class soothing music slipping through the headphone, Jungkook's alert mind had kept him awake most of the night. Thoughts over thoughts crashing against his tired brain. This was not what he had been promised when leaving his easy-go-lucky life of the city. He missed the lights, the buzz of life and the blaring horns. He missed waking up at the wee hour of the morning, hiking through a small mount at the edge of the city and capturing the sunrise. He missed the normalcy. The only good thing he found in the morning was his parents being playful while cooking breakfast. Jungkook admired both, Seokjin and Yoongi for never letting anything come between their relationship. They had this certain chemistry, that spark of understanding, which Jungkook respected and envied. Precipitously, Jungkook was reminded of his current predicament; the damn locker and its rusty key-hole. If that thing did not come undone in the next five seconds, Jungkook might end up tearing-off the whole thing down. "If you succeed in unlocking the locker by glaring at it, I might question the extent of your dual Alpha powers," An amused voice said from behind the bronze haired male. Jungkook, unsurprised by other's presence, turned to make a face at Taehyung. The blond male was grinning widely, eyes twinkling for whatever reason. "Oh! What would you know? You can talk," Jungkook taunted, not entirely malicious though. Taehyung's grin widened, turning his lips in a perfect box-shape. "Yeah, I know the other night was a disaster," Taehyung shrugged in a nonchalant manner. "I normally avoid being in Grandpa's company, I am pretty sure you can guess why. The ‘family' dinner you saw that night; it's a rare occurring in the Mansion. Thus, I kept my thoughts to myself." "I figured," Jungkook snorted, leaning his back against the locker because he was feeling rather drained of energy. Maybe, he should skip school and spend a day with his dad. If he whined and used the full power of his wide doe eyes, Yoongi is bound to make him some delicious food. "I felt like going crazy after only an hour. Hats off to you for living there." "But you are coming there as well, right?" Taehyung asked, taking a step closer, thick brow pulled together. "Please tell me you are thinking of moving in. I swear you being there would make my life a bit more bearable… and Jimin's too…" Abruptly a mischievous smile tugged at Taehyung's lips. "Besides, the only way to woo Jimin is also by living in the Mansion." "What?" Jungkook couldn't help but bark out a laugh, albeit a little forced. He would never admit but his heart skipped a beat. "I never pegged you as a guy who loves brewing non-existent love stories." "Oh yeah," Taehyung challenged, taking another step toward Jungkook and almost invading his personal space. "Look me in the eye and tell me you have never wondered how soft Jimin's lips would be if kissed." Jungkook scoffed, disbelief splashed across his face as he muttered, "You do realize you are talking about your own brother right?" "Yes," Taehyung grounded, looking serious. "The same brother I see living a miserable life. Not a single soul in this town would even dare look at Jimin and desire him as an Omega should be. Either scared of our Grandfather or Jimin himself. So, if there is even a tiny chance of a sparkle of feelings to ignite between you two… trust me Jungkook I would feed that fire myself until it burns the whole forest…" Jungkook was aware of his hinged jaws and ballooned eyes, but before he could retort, a sweet teasing scent engulfed the Alpha's mind. Turning his head, sure enough, Jimin was seen walking through the corridor, his head held high with a spring in his steps. The Omega gracefully made his way toward his locker, which was conveniently beside Jungkook's. Jimin paused, giving an apprehensive look after finding Jungkook and Taehyung standing so close to each other. "What are you two up to?" The Omega muttered under his breath, pointedly looking anywhere but Jungkook's eyes, before turning to unlock his locker and taking out books for the first period. "Planning a cousin's sleepover, wanna join?" Taehyung teased, making a hint of a smile to climb up on Jimin's lips. Conversely, the Omega resorted to not bother keeping up the conversation between him and his brother. The blond Alpha reverted his attention on Jungkook, jolting him a tad before asking, "So? Would you move in or not?" Jungkook, with his head, leaned against the metal lockers, rotated his head enough to gaze directly at Jimin. The slight fidgeting in Omega's posture was a tattletale of how Jimin was affecte
