Krystal is a pious girl. She knows what God expects of her now and in the future. She understands his words of wisdom as it applies to her and the world around her. Her older sister, Jessica, serves as her example.

Krystal also knows that Satan places obstacles in your path to tempt you away from the light. She never thought there would come a day when she would have to fight Satan for her very soul.

When a new girl moves to town, a girl different than anyone she's ever known, Krystal faces the hardest challenge of her young life. This is the first time Krystal has ever truly felt the presence of the devil working on her soul.

And she has been happy, until she and her family move to a small town for the sake of her father's health, leaving her older sister behind to attend college. The town seems to be ruled by strict religion, and a girl like her, with tattoos and short hair, sticks out like a sore thumb. In this town that preaches what is right and what is wrong, is there a place for Amber? She feels she may find something, there, in the girl watching her with curious and frightened eyes.
