Before You Go

Description

He opened his eyes only to see that his life ended.
She closed her eyes only to see her life unraveled.

Y/A moved into her new apartment with all the excitement of finally living on her own. Imagine her surprise when a grown man was in her face not even half-an-hour later, going on about how she had to leave—and all she wanted to do was water this stupid plant. They came to an agreement: she could stay as long as she made herself as scarce as possible. She didn’t so much as breathe in his direction and everything would be fine.

However, Y/N sensed that behind his unsavory personality, he was harboring a dark secret…if his waking up screaming in the middle of the night screaming meant anything.

(Y/N reckoned it certainly did.)

Foreword

“Jiyong-ah!” Her voice echoed in his room.

Kwon Jiyong had both of his hands covering his ears as he rocked his body back and forth on the bed.

“It’s a dream,” he told himself. “It’s only a dream, it’s not real.”

Despite the fact that his room was warm, Jiyong felt chilly. He could hear his heart beat loudly and his head throbbing in pain. His room was dark, saved for the soft moonlight that shone through his sheer curtain and onto his bed. He let the moonlight touched his face, as if it would magically make him feel better. It didn’t but Jiyong did it anyway.

“It’s only a dream,” He lost count of how many times he told himself that. He kept on repeating those words as if they were a sacred chant, as if the nightmares would stop. He knew it wouldn’t but he kept on chanting those words anyway.

The dreams had always been so vivid that he wasn’t sure if it was only a dream or not. It felt real to him. He couldn’t shake the feeling that he knew that voice, she somehow sounded familiar but he couldn’t tell who it belonged to. She always appeared in his dream, in her white floral dress and her hair fell over her shoulder. Even though he only saw a blur of her face, he could tell she was beautiful and when she called his name, he felt a stab in his heart. Jiyong knew deep down that he must have known her from somewhere, or else why would she appear in his dreams so often?

The nightmares had been going on for so long that Jiyong himself couldn’t remember when it started. He knew he was missing something and the harder he tried to remember, the stronger the pain he felt in his head which most of the time ended up with him collapsing.

As much as he wanted to fall back asleep, Jiyong knew it was impossible. His throat felt sore and he was thirsty. Shakily, he pushed himself off the bed and shuffled tiredly out of his room.

Unlike his room, the hallway was dark. Instead of turning on the lights, Jiyong just put his hands on the wall for support as his legs were wobbly, tired from the dream he had. He didn’t need light to get around his house; he remembered every single details of it. He knew where everything were.

Just as he was about to enter the living room to get to the kitchen, Jiyong stopped on his tracks. He could tell something was different. Not wrong, just different. He squinted his eyes hard as if it could help them adjust to the darkness faster and when it did, Jiyong could see a white silhouette standing in the middle of the living room, then he could see it clearly.

It was her.

Surely he must be hallucinating because there was no way that she could be here. She was from his dream and Jiyong was sure that he was wide awake. He took in her details. She wore the exact same dress Jiyong had seen her wore in his dreams and just like his dreams, her face was a blur.

“Jiyong ah…” Her voice was soft and gentle.

When he didn’t respond to her, she called him again. Only this time she held her hand out for him to take.

But Jiyong remained glued to his spot. Sweat beads trickled down his skin. He didn’t know what was going on. He was scared and confused and he just wanted whatever was happening to stop.

“Jiyong ah…” She tilted her head.

Jiyong gathered every ounce of bravery he got in him and straightened up. He took a step forward, entering the living room with caution. His eyes remained glued on her, afraid that she might make sudden move.

“Jiyong ah…”

She called him with such a tender tone. It made him soft and yet, at the same time he felt a pang in his heart. His mind whirled as he tried to figure out what was going. When she called him again, Jiyong opened his mouth to respond but she screamed. She just screamed and screamed at him as she pulled her hair in a frenzy.

“THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!” With that, the girl vanished into thin air.
