Summary: Chanyeol's a (former) gangster.

Baekhyun has to take his assignments and finals earlier than the rest of the people so Chanyeol barely sees him the entire last week, except at night when Baekhyun asks him if they can get Melona. In that case, Chanyeol's more than willing to ride and pick the little runt up for some late night popsicles.

At this point, Baekhyun's house is empty, so he's staying at his aunt's house with his mom while his dad's settling things over in the U.S.

The house is farther from the high school than Baekhyun's house, so they stopped having walks home. Instead, Chanyeol just gives the brunet a ride, which is fine and all, but it's not the same.

Baekhyun doesn't have his own room anymore, which makes... other things difficult. They could always just go to Chanyeol's house but since Baekhyun's been busy studying and finishing assignments, it makes for a last few days.

Chanyeol kind of forgets what he used to do before Baekhyun started hanging out with them. He can't even remember the last time he beat someone up—and even that doesn't sound that fun.

He sighs, looking over behind him.

Baekhyun's sitting on his bed, trying to finalize their whole schedule. It's all tentative but, like what they had planned before, everything is easy to follow. Hopefully they'll follow through with it.

"Okay, so, I think we're good now. We set everything up, I've calculated the optimal time for chats with the whole time difference thing." Baekhyun shuts the bullet journal and puts it on the gangster's bedside table. "My flight's this weekend— Oh! Saturday at 8 p.m. You're coming to see me off, right?"

"Yeah."

"Okay, good!" Baekhyun sounds cheerful but Chanyeol sees rigjt through him anyways. "Let's watch Hell's Kitchen."

They haven't watched that show in weeks. Between making out and other things, Gordon ends up being played in the background, ignored. This makes the show  like a "cue word" more than anything.

Complying to the request, Chanyeol puts the show on his computer and sets it on full screen before joining Baekhyun on the bed.

Baekhyun's hands are fast, going straight to ing the gangster's uniform like he had already done so multiple times before.

But Chanyeol stops him, grabbing his hands into his own. "No ."

Frowning, Baekhyun tries to pull his hands away, but Chanyeol doesn't let him. "But I want to feel you all -y," he argues. "I like it."

"No nudies. Lie down next to me."

Baekhyun looks blankly at him. "But we haven't done the diddly doo all week and I'm..."

They both know. He doesn't have to say it.

"I just want to feel close to you for as long as possible." Sighing, Baekhyun puts his hands down on his lap. "I don't know if I can come over anymore, either."

Chanyeol says nothing for a few seconds before he heaves his shoulders and lies down on the bed. Then he motions for Baekhyun to join him...which he does.

"You're not very gangster, you know. You're suppose to be like, 'Yeah, I wanna bleep you until you have daddy issues, you bleeping bleep!'," the brunet mumbles, throwing his arm across Chanyeol's chest. "If I wanted a soft boyfriend, I would've dated, um, a soft boy—like... Oh, I don't know! Me. I'm a soft boy."

Baekhyun doesn't mean it. He loves Chanyeol the way that he is.

"You're an annoying boy."

"I guess it's a good thing you won't see me again, huh?"

"Shut up," Chanyeol says, pinching Baekhyun's side. "Stop saying that."

"It's true."

"No, it's not. You just want me to say I'll ing miss you for the 100th time."

Smiling, Baekhyun giggles. "I know."

Chanyeol gives him a look of feigned annoyance but only pulls the brunet tighter against him. "Anyways, you better pay attention and study your off over there," he mutters. "If I hear you're messing around and not studying, I'll stop talking to you."

"That's mean," Baekhyun pouts. "Don't do that."

"Then study."

"Okay."

[ 2013 ]

Chanyeol rings the front door bell and waits until Jongdae opens the door, ushering him inside. "You're laaate!"

"Sorry. I got caught up in work."

Chanyeol enters the house and is immediately greeted by Sehun.

"You actually came!" He quickly hugs his old friend before pulling him in the direction of the kitchen. "Jongin and I made a bet. He said you wouldn't come and I said that you would, so now he owes me money."

Rolling his eyes, Chanyeol follows him into the kitchen where Jongin's in the arms of a strange, new man that he's never met before.

Sehun clears his throat , side eyeing Jongin before looking back at Chanyeol. "That's, uh, Taemin. His boyfriend," he says in a low voice before loudly announcing, "You owe me money!"

Lovestruck and infatuated with Taemin's beautiful brown eyes, Jongin is surprised by Sehun's loud voice. Before he can even complain, he notices Chanyeol and gasps. "Oh my god, you actually came?"

Frowning, Chanyeol sends both of them pressingly questioning eyes. "Why the hell is everyone surprised I came?"

Sehun laughs nervously. "We just thought that you wouldn't...uh, want to be here," he starts off awkwardly. "Oh, but if you want to leave early, I can leave with you. I don't mind, boss—"

It's been a long time since he's heard "Boss".

Chanyeol scoffs.

"Shut up and just stop talking about it."

"You sure?"

"Yeah."
