A/N: Hi everyone so this is another omegaverse fic I’ve had in mind for some time. It will be Joohyun as a psychiatrist who is tasked with helping wounded soldier Seulgi get her life back together. The difference with this fic however, is I will be working in reverse. So the first part you’re going to read will be the present time. I will then proceed to tell the story from the past events that lead up to the present moment, and then we will eventually get back to the present and continue on from there. Please enjoy

Joohyun could feel the cold end of the gun pressed into her back, as Seulgi held her at gunpoint. The dark-haired omega is saddened by this for more than one reason. She knew that Seulgi wasn’t okay and further slipping into a mental breakdown. The doctor just tried so hard to convince herself that the alpha was actually okay and doing better. This could have been avoided had she acted quicker. The staff are staring on in disbelief. Lieutenant Commander Officer Kang Seulgi is always so polite and quiet. They could never have anticipated the mental breakdown of the soldier. It’s just sad to see Seulgi looking so frantic and on edge. It’s even sadder to see Dr. Bae trying her best to remain calm and collected.

“Lieutenant Kang, please let Dr. Bae go.”

Seulgi simply wraps her arm around Joohyun. The gun is being still pressed into her. The doctor is trying her best to not give away how scared she is. She’s honestly very scared, but she knows under any other circumstances Seulgi would never hurt her. Not after all they have been through and shared with one another.

“Let me handle it, please.” The raven says to staff.

“Dr. Bae, we have cops on speedial if there’s anything she tries.”

“No, she won’t hurt me. Everyone just back up some and give me a moment with her.”

They do give some space but they don’t leave the area entirely. Seulgi suffers from PTSD and there’s no telling what can happen. Joohyun turns to look at her some.

“We’re alone right now, baby.” She calls her with the affectionate name that she only calls the alpha when they’re alone. Joohyun had not intended to fall in love with her patient. Kang Seulgi was just so easy to love, no matter what the former soldier tried to say and deny their chemistry.

“Don’t speak.” Seulgi warns her. “You’re a threat to the country and you have to be eliminated.”

Joohyun has no idea who Seulgi thinks she is, possibly some enemy she has had to kill or bring in. The staff are looking on worried and one of them calls the police anyway.

“Dr. Bae, let us…”

“No, I have this. Seulgi won’t hurt me. You’re not really going to hurt me, right honey.” She tells the brunette.

“I said don’t speak!”

Seulgi looks so lost and Joohyun knows deep down the alpha is just really scared. It’s why Joohyun knows she has to talk her down, especially before the cops do get here. The doctor doesn’t want for something awful to happen.

“Dr. Bae we need to get you away from her. She’s going to hurt you.”

“I said no. Let me handle this. Seulgi listen to me, try to listen to me. You’re not back in war and you’re not in any danger. You can put the gun down, sweetie.”

“You are…” Seulgi begins hesitatingly, “an enemy of the country and you have to….”

“You’re not going to hurt me, baby.”

Joohyun can see someone trying to sneak behind Seulgi and hit her in the head with a metal tray. Joohyun knows they’re panicking, however sneaking up on a soldier highly trained like Seulgi will only get someone killed. The omega nods to the staff to tell that person to stop.

“Seulgi won’t hurt me.” Joohyun claims to the people in the area.

“Dr. Bae, she is having a mental breakdown. You can’t trust that she won’t harm you.” Another of her colleagues says.

Joohyun knows for certain that the brunette won’t hurt her. She has spent time with Seulgi and knows how very sweet, kind, and caring the alpha is. She loves this woman with all of her heart and Joohyun knows Seulgi loves her too.

“She won’t harm me. Seul,” Joohyun touches her face gently in what she hopes is a reminder to the alpha. She hopes it reminds her of all the other touches they’ve shared.

“You’re not going to hurt the mother of your child, right?”

She tells Seulgi that she’s pregnant and takes the alpha’s free hand and places it over her stomach. Joohyun hopes she’s getting through. Seulgi looks down at their connected hands. The gun in her other hand is hovering from being put down or raised again.

“You’re going to be a sire, Seul. I know you and I know you wouldn’t ever hurt our baby and I.”

Seulgi is confused by what’s going on. Her thoughts are all mixed up but there is one thing for sure. This woman is telling her she won’t hurt her, and sounds positive. The cops rush in then with guns and there’s shouting for Seulgi to put the gun down. Joohyun pleads with the cops to stop screaming at Seulgi. She’s scared enough as it is. The surprising thing is the alpha puts the gun down and releases Joohyun from her hold.

“I’m sorry.” She speaks.

“No, don’t be sorry. You’ve stopped taking your meds, right?”

The omega is trying to hug Seulgi, but the cops rush over and handcuff the slightly taller woman.

“What are you doing?” Joohyun complains to them. “She doesn’t need handcuffs. She just needs her medicine and perhaps an overnight surveillance.”

“Ma’am, this woman held you at gunpoint. We’re taking her in.”

Seulgi looks just far away and doesn’t resist going with the cops. She does look back at Joohyun with a mostly lost expression.

“I’m sorry, Hyun.”

Joohyun nods and holds back her tears. It pains her to see Seulgi in cuffs. The cops are not trained to handle psychiatric situations and they think cuffs or other means are the answer. Seulgi didn’t even know what she was doing.

“Hold on for me, Seul. I’m going to get you out soon.”

Seulgi says nothing more as she’s escorted out by cops. At least they aren’t being violent with her, and Joohyun heard someone address her as Lieutenant. Joohyun knows she has to get Seulgi out of there, god forbid they put her in a cell, because being in small enclosed spaces brings up bad memories for the alpha. Her colleagues rush over to her and check her out.

“Dr. Bae do you need anything, some water, maybe sit down.”

“I need to go get her out of jail.”

It’s Nurse Park Yerim who gently pulls Joohyun away from the crowd and takes her to her office. She had been friends with Yerim for many years and also knows her mate, well known businesswoman Park Sooyoung. The other omega tells her to sit and she gets her some water.

“Joohyun, are you alright? That was pretty intense.” The blonde tells her. She has seen patients have breakdowns before. Yerim has just never seen someone being held at gunpoint. She hasn’t seen one of her closest friends being held by gunpoint. Yerim has to admit that Joohyun handled it very well, all things considered.

“I’m fine. I told everyone she wasn’t going to hurt me.”

“You sounded so sure, how could you have even known that?”

“I know Seulgi. She’s a really good person who’s been through a lot. I really should have seen this coming, but I took her word that she was fine. Yerim I need to get her out of the police station. If they put her in a cell it might only aggravate her PTSD.”

The blonde understands. “Joohyun, don’t worry I’ll call Soo. I know she’ll help us if we run into any trouble.”

“Us?” The raven repeats. She didn’t expect for Yerim to say them. The younger woman looks slightly offended.

“Joohyun, we’re best friends. You don’t think I’m not going to help you out, right? I’m going with you.”

“Thank you, Yerim.”

“Of course. We’re going to get your girlfriend and bring her back.”

The raven smiles in gratitude. She is really worried about what’s happening with Seulgi now. The alpha looked out of it, and Joohyun knows she needs to give Seulgi her meds.

“I have something to ask you though.”

“What about?” Joohyun wonders.

“I saw you trying to get through to her, and you handled it well. I just wondered if maybe you were saying you’re pregnant just to calm Seulgi down.”

Joohyun understands why Yerim is wondering such a thing. It’s highly plausible that the doctor would say anything to help calm Seulgi down. The raven shakes her head with a small but delicate smile.

“I’m really pregnant, and Seul’s going to be a sire. It’s why I knew that she wasn’t going to hurt me. I’m sure she knew on some level.”

Yerim tells her again that she’s going to call her wife and let her know the situation. They will get Seulgi out of there because she really didn’t do anything wrong, and more importantly no one was hurt.

“I’ll be back, let me just call Soo.” Yerim gently touches the older woman on the shoulder. Joohyun thanks her again and hopes that there’s someone being kind to Seulgi. She doesn’t deserve for anyone to hurt her further, and Joohyun really wants for everything to be okay. She wants it all to be okay for herself, Seulgi, and their baby on the way.

“We have to help your mommy, little one. We will help her get better.”

A/N: hi so this was the present time, but a lot of the story will be told in past events showing how Joohyun and Seulgi met, fell in love, and ultimately I will return to the present and keep going further. Hope you guys liked the first chapter
