'' So... '' Chaerin said and looked at Dara with expectant eyes.

'' What? '' Dara asked confused as she prepared their breakfast. 

'' What happened between you and Jiyong? '' She asked excitedly and Dara rolled her eyes as she sighed.

'' Nothing " She answered and Chaerin frowned and folded her arms.

'' He was sleeping in your bed... Next to you '' She stated '' How can that be nothing? '' She added and Dara kept preparing the food and once it was done, she finally turned to her.

'' I told you, after bringing Jihoon back from the hospital, he got sick and couldn't leave... Actually, he... He could be at risk of having alcoholic hepatitis '' She revealed and Chaerin frowned.

'' What? I don't get it '' She demanded.

'' He can have a liver failure because he is drinking too much alcohol '' She revealed then she walked to the table and took a seat next to Jihoon and Chaerin followed.

'' What is he going to do? Will he be fine? '' She asked and Dara shrugged then started feeding her son.

'' It all depends on him if he will stop drinking and get the right treatment then he'll be fine... If not... '' She stopped as she couldn't think of what can possibly happen.

'' Did he... Did he say anything to you? '' She wondered quietly and Dara gave her a look before she looked back at Jihoon then she sighed.

After a couple of minutes, she finally answered " He said that he was forced to leave me and marry Joo Yeon '' She confessed and kept feeding her son while Chaerin's eyes widened.

'' He did? '' She questioned and Dara turned to face her with a frown.

'' You... Did you know about this? '' She asked her and Chaerin instantly looked down. Dara put down the small bowl she was holding and looked at her best friend.

'' He is saying the truth '' She confirmed then looked at Dara and reached to hold her hand '' He truly loves you, Dee. He only broke up with you because he wanted to protect you '' She added and Dara shook her head as she couldn't believe her best friend hid something like that.

'' How long did you know? '' She muttered and Chaerin looked at her apologetically. 

'' A little over a year '' She revealed and Dara looked at her shocked '' I tried telling you but you always refused to listen to me and didn't even let me say his name. I tried to bring you back here but you refused. I didn't want to be the one to tell you, I always believed that Jiyong is the one who should explain everything to you '' She explained yet Dara looked at her without saying anything '' Please, don't give me the silent treatment, just say anything... '' Chaerin pleaded after a while '' I know I was wrong but you didn't give a chance '' She repeated and Dara eventually sighed then resumed feeding Jihoon. 

'' He really loves you, Dee '' Chaerin added after some time and Dara rolled her eyes.

'' He loves me yet he let go of me and went to marry his rich friend '' She retorted making her friend sigh.

'' Dara... He did all that to protect you... Yes, that was a stupid move and he was a coward but you can't really blame him... He was hopeless and that was the only way he found '' She reasoned and Dara gave her a glared '' Let's say he did tell you about the situation with Lee and his father, would you have left him? '' 

'' Of course not! '' She quickly replied.

'' See! You wouldn't have left and that would have put you in danger... It could have put Jihoon in danger as well " Chaerin argued '' We can't go back in time... Jiyong is asking for another chance and I know that deep in your heart you still have feelings for him. Even more... Think about your son, don't you want him to live and grow up with both his parents by his side? For how long are you going to deny him, you, and even Jiyong the happiness you all need? '' She asked and Dara sighed.

'' It's not that easy, Chaerin... If what you are saying is true then, Joo Yeon and her father won't let him go easily. What makes you think that everything can be fine? Huh? She did all that when she was not even with him, would she let him go when she's already married to him? '' She questioned then shook her head as she tried to hold in her tears '' Even if Jiyong wants to fix things... Even if I want to go back to him and give my son the family he deserves... I can't... It's not easy... I don't care if they hurt me but I can't put Jihoon in danger and Jiyong is not safe '' She explained and Chaerin felt sorry for her friend.

'' At least don't reject him... Talk to him, maybe he has a way... Don't give up on your happiness because of fear " Chaerin encouraged. 

Just when Dara was about to answer, Chaerin's phone rang.

'' Huh? It's Jaejoong '' She said with a frown as she picked up. '' Hey, is everything okay? '' She asked instantly then she looked at Dara. '' Yes, she's next to me '' She revealed then she handed her phone to her best friend. '' He wants to talk to you '' She said.

'' Hello? '' Dara greeted.

'' Thank God! Dara, where were you? I've been calling you for hours but your phone is turned off! I was worried sick that something wrong must have happened! '' He scolded and Dara bit her bottom lip.

'' I'm sorry... The battery must have died and I didn't notice '' She apologized and Jaejoong sighed from the other line. 

'' It's okay... Is everything fine with you and Jihoon? '' He asked.

'' Yeah, we're both good '' She answered as she checked Jihoon temperature. 

'' Good, I'll try to be back soon '' He revealed.

'' It's okay, you don't have to rush... Just take care of Seungjae '' She said then they talked for some more before they finally said goodbye and hang up. As soon as she handed her friend's phone back, Chaerin instantly questioned.

'' Why didn't you tell him about Jiyong? '' 

'' There's no need for that '' Dara answered coldly then she continued feeding her son while Chaerin looked at her wondering what she could do to help her son.
