Who am I? And what am I doing in this world?

Everyone ask themselves those questions at least once in their lives. And for Sandara Park, she asked herself these questions and more almost every day.

‘’ I still believe you should go and enjoy your summer away from here. It’s the last summer before you start college, trust me, you’re going to regret it ‘’ Chaerin said as she kept removing the olive from her slice of pizza.

‘’ I don’t know, I don’t think that’s a good idea. If I stay here and find a job, I would gain more money and that would surely be much better than vacationing ‘’ Dara replied as she rested her face on her palm and watched her friend.

‘’ You’ve worked every summer since you were fourteen, take a break for once and change. ‘’ her friend insisted.

‘’ You know how things are, Chae. I can’t just leave when I want, I need every penny I can get ‘’ Sandara tried but her friend just shook her head.

‘’ It’s on me ‘’ she immediately answered.

‘’ No! ‘’ Sandara replied almost right away and a little too loud ‘’ I mean, I can’t accept it. It’s too much, you’ve been helping me a lot my entire life but this is too much ‘’ she added.

‘’ Save it, girl. I am not taking no as an answer. ‘’ Chaerin said and then smirked.

‘’ Please, don’t tell me you already bought the tickets! ‘’ Dara asked mortified but she was only rewarded with Chaerin’s wide grin ‘’ Oh my God! ‘’ she shouted

‘’ And the hotel and everything else is ready ‘’ she informed her ‘’ Don’t give me that look, my mother planned everything ‘’ she replied pointing her finger at Dara.

‘’ I can’t believe you! ‘’ Dara said shaking her head.

‘’ What? You didn’t think I’d let you go to college without enjoying at least one summer ‘’ Chaerin winked but Sandara just flicked her head.

‘’ You’re crazy! ‘’

‘’ But you love me ‘’ the girl said as a matter of fact.

‘’ Whatever. So where are we going? ‘’ Dara asked after she realized that she had no other choice.

‘’ London ‘’.

Dara was 18 at that time. Her life was nothing special. Or maybe it was. She never knew her real parents as she grew up in an orphanage. During her entire childhood, she kept looking into having her own family where she would have loving parents but that unfortunately, didn’t happen. Then, at the age of twelve, a middle-aged woman adopted Dara and took her with her.

But it was like it was faded for the poor girl to suffer because the woman had to die two years after, leaving the young Sandara alone. And she depended on herself ever since. She struggled to keep living at first but then she met Chaerin.

Chaerin was nothing like Sandara as she was from a wealthy family. The girls met at school and Chaerin’s mother was a very kind woman and accepted her into their family despite Sandara’s protest at the beginning.

Sandara had a very high pride, self-love, and confidence and Chaerin’s father loved that. He hoped his daughter would learn from her especially as she kept working despite the fact that he was giving her all the money she needed.

Despite her unfortunate life, Dara was a very smart girl and everyone loved her. Maybe because she didn’t have the same loving and caring every other child had when they are young but she was sweet and wanted to help everyone.

Maybe that’s why she decided to be a doctor.

‘’ We should go on a vacation soon, I am starting to get bored here ‘’ Seungri said as he threw his body on the couch.

‘’ I’m with him ‘’ Daesung answered but kept his eyes on the game he was playing on his Xbox.

‘’ Don’t count me in, my father decided that the entire family would go together to Japan next week ‘’ Seung Hyun informed.

‘’ I can’t go with you as well ‘’ Youngbae added as he sat next Daesung and watched him as he played.

‘’ Why so? ‘’ Seungri asked. 

‘’ I promised Hyorin to go with her to Spain this year. She’s already mad at me because I didn’t go with her to New York at the beginning of the year, I can’t risk it this time ‘’ he told them and Seungri huffed.

‘’ You’re always like that ‘’ he muttered rolling his eyes.

‘’ Like what? What are you guys talking about? ‘’ Someone asked from the door.

‘’ We were planning to go on a holiday together but as always Seung Hyun and Youngbae hyungs are ditching us ‘’ Seungri immediately complained.

‘’ Where are you going? ‘’ Jiyong asked as he joined Seung Hyun who was playing poll.

‘’ I don’t know, maybe London? We haven’t gone there for so long ‘’

‘’ Is London a good choice in the summer? ‘’ Jiyong questioned.

‘’ I don’t know, but we can figure it out, right? If we didn’t like it there we can always go somewhere else ‘’ Seungri instantly found a solution.

‘’ Sure then, I can’t stand staying here as well ‘’ Jiyong said quietly but Youngbae heard him.

‘’ Is it your father again? ‘’ he asked him.

‘’ It’s his of a wife, I can’t understand how he married her ‘’ Jiyong groaned 

‘’ But she lasted long this time, right? What, two years? ‘’
