Description

Park Eun Hae, a 18 years old cute girl who is one of the loyal 'Inspirit' . She has been saving up for INFINITE's concert and finally she is able to go! What happens if she sees Kim Myung Soo, L from INFINITE on a beach alone one night and what he told her that night shattered her heart as a fan?

“You guys only care about looks, don't you? If we are ugly, will you still be an 'inspirit'? The answer is a flat no. Face it. You are just a fan. The love you have for us is for our appearance, our image, not us." He said coldly to the girl before him.

As your first one-shot, I find this to be a good perceptive read. This fic really brings the reader to consider things from different perspectives regarding the relation between idols and their fans. Both Myungsoo and Eunhae have valid points that gives this a realistic touch. The emotional content in their interactions gives depth in their connection. Anyone can be in a foul mood when they're not in the best physical condition (weariness/drowsiness getting to them from insufficient rest). Myungsoo's frustration brings to mind the pressures of being an idol with their super busy schedules and the demands placed on them. That's important for the entertainment agencies to consider with regards to their mental health. It's a sad reality when unattended depression leads to some idols committing suicide (i.e. SHINee's Jonghyun, former f(x)'s Sulli and KARA's Hara). The encounter with Eunhae helps with discovering a newfound perspective of true, loyal fans who are dedicated to supporting their idols in their endeavors. What she'd shared as a fan is good for the idols to know how much their efforts are appreciated. That's the wakeup call he needed to realize that there are also a good amount of non-superficial fans out there. It's nice how Myungsoo resolved it by expressing his appreciation for Eunhae (giving her an approving smile upon reading her sign) and fellow Inspirits with his statement on stage after their performance. The ending profoundly resonates with the intended overall message in this fic.

This sounds like a piece that touches upon the reality regarding the superficial fans. Such is the case when there are those who just attend the concerts and meet-and-greets to check out their looks. Some idols or artists may be aware of this when they see that some people aren’t there just for the music and their stage performances.
