So originally I was going to add this to my one-shot collection - since the idea was to just a bunch of one-shots with my ot12 heart in pain - but then the first chapter got so freaking big and literally took me THREE YEARS TO FINISH I decided that it honest to God needed a stand alone as an installment. I couldn't pass it off as a one shot even if I tried. So here we are.

I also had so many months where this story literally just sat and festered because I had way too much energy in outlining but not writing. I'm trash lmao.

Plan is to have more one-shot like stories falling inside the same alternate universe, and while not reading chronologically is fine, it would be recommended to do so. I'll try and make them seem interesting and stand alone, but honestly, I am so into big overarching plotlines that the chances are eh. I also haven't posted in literally years. My writing skills are hm... We'll see if it's for better or worse lol. Enjoy my poor excuse for an attempt at fantasy.

Edit- so I completely forgot to actually explain the setup and procession of this series. Essentially each chapter will focus on one main pairing and how they meet in the convergence of their two 'worlds' so to speak. Some characters will not be introduced until later chapters, other pairings will not appear till later, etc. Each pairing is characterized by a different set of gemstones and in turn, each member gets a gemstone that either coincides with their power or their personality. The gemstones and their owners will become known as the chapters progress. I'm anticipating a total of 7 chapters, may change if I have to split them up into parts like the first chapter. 

Edit- there will be hinted as well as actual abuse and violence depicted. I'm not trying to be gory graphic, more like physiologically harsh. That being said, I will be marking individual chapters as mature if the situation requires it rather than overall because I only think two or so chapters will be. If that changes I'll update accordingly. The alternate universe is supposed to be pseudo-earth and pseudo-industrial age but more in a transition state I should say. This series is more character-driven than plot-driven so no overall antagonist or big battle scenes, just subplots. lots and lots of subplots specific to each pairing.
