Im Jaebum and Park Jinyoung met during the 5th JYPE audition.

Their differences were pretty obvious even at the start. Jinyoung is more cheeky and confident whereas for Jaebum, he’s soft, a little shy but has his own charming point.

Jaebum was a b-boy dancer and just like how people stereotypically view b-boy dancers as cool, that’s who Jaebum is.

As for Jinyoung, if Jaebum is described as cool, he will be warmth. His warm personality and his confidence, it’s almost the total opposite of his partner.

That’s probably why they were paired up as a unit for their performance.

“Are you okay?” Jaebum walked up to where Jinyoung is, who’s lying flat on the studio’s floor and sat down beside him. There are only two days left, even though none of them had brought it up, they both knew that the other was as stressed as themselves.

“Still alive.” Jinyoung muttered quietly as he stared up at the ceiling. Silence took over them for a brief moment before Jinyoung broke it again.

“Are you nervous?”

Jaebum didn’t reply immediately as he turned to look at the other boy who seemed pretty tired from their 4 hours practice. Not getting a reply, Jinyoung sat up and turned his attention to Jaebum.

“I am.” Jaebum finally answered and sighed. “We’ve not really perfected everything yet and we don’t have much time left.”

“Do you think I will end up being a burden?” Jinyoung asked again.

Jaebum understood why he asked this question. Jinyoung didn’t have proper dance training like himself and he’s been messing up some parts since the start of their practice that day.

It’s a little weird though, Jaebum noticed. They didn’t have these problems the past few days.

“Are you nervous?” Jaebum asked the same question back at Jinyoung. “Because I think you are.”

“Now, don’t be offended.” Jaebum continued before Jinyoung could even say anything. Despite him trying his very best to hide it, Jaebum could still see that Jinyoung is a little offended by what he said. He might not seem like it but Jinyoung could be a little hot-headed sometimes. At least that’s what Jaebum noticed throughout their practice session with him.

“Did you not realize that you’re not up to your usual standard today?”

“What do you mean?” Jinyoung retorted back almost immediately.

“Don’t get mad but you and I both know that you are a lot better than how you were earlier You’re nervous and stressed, aren’t you?”

This time, Jinyoung didn’t answer for he knew that Jaebum’s right. There’s no reason for him to lie now that his partner saw through him.

“I’m nervous too, you know.” Jaebum continued, “But not because you are making mistakes but I believe if I’m not nervous, it would mean that this audition meant nothing to me. It’s okay to be nervous because at least I know, this meant as much to you as to me.”

Jinyoung stayed silent, taking in Jaebum’s words slowly. What surprised Jaebum after that was the quiet chuckle from the other boy.

“That’s probably the longest reply I’ve ever gotten from you.”

Jaebum raised an eyebrow, which Jinyoung read it as ‘seriously?’ and that made Jinyoung smiled wider as he nodded.

“But really, thank you. I feel more at ease now that you’ve seen through me.”

“Let’s do this.” Jaebum smiled in return and held out his fist, which Jinyoung gently bumped his fist against.

“Let’s do this.”

Two days later, it’s performance day.

They got through it even though Jinyoung made a slight mistake but it was covered up by Jaebum’s improvisation.

Eventually, they made it to the final round.

It’s not an easy journey but, both of them won this round of audition. Both of them are now officially JYP trainees.

And they are both glad that they finished this together.

Two 16 years old boys; both with the same dream, they met at an audition of the same company. Is it a coincidence?

You can say that.

Out of so many contestants, these two boys were paired as a unit and both of them made it to the final round. Still a coincidence?

Maybe? With a little of their hard work too, probably?

But, these two same boys were tied as the first place in this particular audition. They’ve joined this audition as individuals but somehow; they finished it together, as a pair. It’s probably not planned, but to call it a coincidence would be an understatement.
 

I would like to call it, fate.

Just another reminder or disclaimer, everything I've written is made up. I tried to take some of the real situations and make things up from it. Jaebum is shown to be helpful to Jinyoung here bc I believe that's one of the reasons why he's the leader and not Jinyoung. Do I even make sense? Jaebum seems more hot-headed and gets mad easily (in the past at least) but whenever Jinyoung said that Jaebum helped him a lot, I believe it's like this.

And so, we started this series with JJP. For the first 6 chapters, it will be all 'introductory'. Also, not all chapters will be of the same length and style. Do not expect all 11 characters will be in all chapters too! Yeah that's all, I hope this is a good start for all of you! <3
