With large amount of success BTS has been bringing in, Big Hit had always been tempted to release a girl group. After the failure of GLAM prior to BTS, they wanted to launch a four member girl group when BTS had made their name.
The groups final lineup was decided in May of 2017, after months of training together and countless evaluation falling below expectations. CEO of Big Hit Entertainment, Bang Si-Hyuk, sat down his staff and artists to show them past monthly evaluations of the four. Having gotten mixed feeling on the four, he decided to start from scratch.
And what better way then to put it on national television.
12 trainees; 4 from the original lineup and 8 more will compete to create the best group. They will be challenged with different concepts and missions, from producing their own song to taking an older song and making it their own.
The 12 will go through a monthly evaluation where the CEO and selected staff will rank their preformance and make notes along with scoring them based on the abilities they show at that moment. The two with the lowest scoress will compete in a solo battle during the next evaluation where one or both of them will be sent back to their normal training.
Stay tuned, for the 12's journey to becoming Big Hit's newest group on THE RISE!
