Description
Ancient Goryeo is a land rich in resources but impoverished of unity. After years of fighting a relentless war, the country faces internal turmoil upon the sudden death of the King. Forced to flee the capital in a desperate attempt to survive, Princess Park Chaeyoung finds an unexpected ally in a cold and bitter imprisoned warrior, Kim Taehyung. Together, they embark on an adventure across Goryeo, gathering troops, resources, and allies to reclaim the stolen throne and save the country from demise. Along the way, they discover valuable lessons about life, loss, and growing up. It is a journey of self-discovery, duty, friendship, revenge, betrayal, sacrifice, and love. Always love.

This story is loosely based on real Korean history, but I am not a historian, so I apologize for any and all inaccuracies ahead of time. In this page, I will be posting little notes or details as they come up in the story.

Foreword
“What is it about roses that intrigues you so?” he asked, gently brushing his warm thumb along her cheekbone.
She gazed down at the crimson flower clutched in her hands, lightly running her fingers along the soft petals.
“With its rich colour, smooth petals, and soft curves, it is mesmerizing. But with its sharp thorns, it is powerful. It commands your attention and its scent overpowers the other flowers effortlessly. What intrigues me is how it can be both beautiful and dangerous all at once. It can bring you joy but it can cause you just as much pain. It is the queen of the garden.”
He laughed lightly, causing her to glance up at him in surprise, “why are you laughing?”
“Because, my love,” he pressed a long kiss on her forehead, “you have just described yourself perfectly."
