Foreword

Ninth prince, Sehun, has never been content with his life. Being the last in line for the crown and the least favourable in the eyes of his father, the king, had always made him thirst for more. The name, the glory and the power never quenched his thirst - never fulfilled his ambition - nothing ever seemed to satisfy his desire; until he met Lee Suhyun.

Chapter 1: Completely skipped over the angst tag and my initial thought of ‘this is really cute’ dropped immediately reading through the last section. This is a great short read though

Chapter 1: This is one of those stories where you know it's going to be painful reading it because you get the hint that it's going to end sadly but you still read it anyway and not regret because it's good. ❤

I am not at all familiar with this fandom. I don’t even know who is Sehun ^^’
But this one shot stirred me up.So bittersweet, beautifully painful. I loved your writing. To comfort myself I already imagine the characters in a sort of sequel, literally in “an other life”.

Chapter 1: I swear Suhyun was going to die, though tbh, when Jiyong stormed the palace, I HAD A TINY BIT OF HOPE, they would both live. Much like Sehun did, I guess. Ah, well, the titles did give a bit away but I'm still grateful of the moments they had despite the teetering on the edge of war and actually swept up in the middle of it. I like that their love somehow bloomed even more despite all that bloodshed and tension, arghh, i love forbidden romances ; _ ; Also this is the second fic I've read of yours and I've come to the conclusion you do characterisations VERY well. Sehun and Suhyun's characters were vivid against the war-ridden backdrop they were in (which only made it easier for you to rip our hearts out ofc, well done TT). Also, I haven't read historical/war-themed fics in a long time so this was refreshing. I really admire your ability to flesh this out under 10k words. I COULD NEVER. Seriously, how do you authors do it. Funny, how I always thought I would be more of a oneshot author than a multi-chapter one, and yet, I struggle with that the most. To write concisely and still bring a story to life is really difficult so more praises to you! Also I shouldn't have read this at 3 am last night. The urge to read is scarce lately but at the wrong damn times. rip me. All in all, amazing work! xx
