An Empire of Our Own
Description
The supreme leader of the Kei Empire Jung Daehyun is at battle with their long-time rival, the Joko Alliance and their newest leader, Yoo Youngjae. He's a little mysterious, a little laid-back and a little too good to be true. As time goes on, he finds himself more and more obsessed with the enemy against the beliefs of the Empire.
Amongst the political corruption, battles and scandals on the planets, the major rivalry between the Empire and the Alliance shakes the galaxy. But the chivalrous Daehyun can't seem to get a particular male out of his head; he is concerned it may ruin him and all that he worked for...
Foreword
This story is based around/inspired by the Legend of the Galactic Heroes (Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu) series by Yoshiki Tanaka. There will be similarities and if you've seen this anime you'll definitely notice!.
There are a couple of things to get your head around/key points:
- Don't panic! It is based in outerspace but I've kept the sci-fi stuff to a minimum and the battles aren't long winding or in great detail at all
- To clarify, there are 5 different planets in the Mato Galaxy: Kei, Joko, Tatsu, Shishi and Toto (all pretty much like earth but each planet is run by it's own power e.g. all planets have their own government system, only Kei is an imperialist state)
- The story revolves around the two major rivalry planets, Kei and Joko where their military groups are referred to as The Empire (of Kei planet) and The Alliance (of Joko planet)
- The Kei planet is run by the nobles with large Empire military influence and ruled by an Emperor. The Joko planet is a free state which practices democracy (key difference).
