Jeongyeon left the office and shortly after that Mr. Jinyoung joins the chief officers to have a talk together. 

As soon as Mr. Jinyoung set a foot inside the chief office, they exchange a salute that's full with complete respect. Then they gave a meaningful hug to each other after that. "It's been a while since we meet Jinyoung," the chief starts the conversation while sitting back in his seat while Jinyoung facing him. "Indeed it's been a while, I would be lying if I said that I haven't missed this place," Jinyoung said while taking a quick glance around the office before he continues his talk. "Going back to the main reason I am here, where you able to find someone that could help Ms. Son?"

"Yeah, it hasn't been long since I informed one of my best officer here to go start the mission right away. And I know for sure after reading the case, she will do more than her best to assure the target safety." while the chief words are full of confidence and assurance, Jinyoung couldn't help but ask, "what makes you say that?"

A smile crawled on the chief face upon hearing the question. He moved his hand searching between his folders on the desk. Then he pulled a file and handed it to Jinyoung. "Try taking a look at this file. It contains all the information about the officer in charge." The chief fold his hands watching him carefully looking at the papers then he added by saying "doesn't this name ring something into your head?" It didn't take long for Jinyoung to figure whom the chief is talking about and immediately his eyes widened upon his discovery. "Yoo Jeongeon! How is she part of this department? Since when?"

The chief signed trying to compose himself to start talking. "I know what you are thinking. She joined us two years ago exactly, not long ago after your last case. And she's been doing great until now and even more than what we expect her to do. Even though I am concerned about her condition and excessive works that she puts upon herself, but that exactly what makes me choose her over anyone else. Added to that her past incident that happened to her friend two years ago." Jinyoung was listening carefully to his explanation. "Also, putting that aside, I am still working with my team on this case, and we have already predicted this to happen to Ms. Son, though we didn't expect it to occur too soon. But that only helps us catch them earlier than expected. Everything is working according to our plan, so rest assured our team will be ready to handle any sudden events along the way."

Even though those words that the chief said were meant to ease Jinyoung mind, but it seems that it only makes him more worried than he actually is. Then he decided to speak his mind. "You know... I don't want the history to repeat itself again like two years ago." The chief eyes soften with the mention of that incident. "I want to make sure to capture those people before they could make any further harm. I have failed once to do my duty and I won't allow it to happen again." The chief couldn't say anything regarding his last statement because he's already aware of what happened for his last mission. 

Mr. Jinyoung had a Law Office and he used to work in the special forces as chief as well before. He used to manage his jobs perfectly without it affecting his performance in either of them. But because of all the pressure, he was putting on himself, he ended up losing his focus and resulting in the target death at unexpected night. It was actually a mistake done by both sides out of ignorance. Because of that incident, he left his position in the forces and decide to focus his mind as a lawyer to forgot his failer that he has done once two years ago. While his right-hand officer took charge after him.

Those two years flew by and he never forgot that mission ever. And now that he's witnessing another mess in the way of one of the most important clients he ever served for, he won't allow the history to repeat itself and will make sure to catch whoever is behind it. 

Then Jinyoung couldn't help but ask, "how is our bunny doing? I haven't heard about her in a long time. Is she still not remembering what happened?" The chief expression softens upon his question, "she's doing great. Actually, she's going back to school to finish her studies." Even though this is a good news, but Jinyoung couldn't help but feel a bit concern. "Isn't it dangerous to leave her out alone in the public like that, what if they found her again?"

"Jinyoung, don't worry. I assigned our Eagle to keep an eye on her as well as Mr. Son. She's one of the best to spot any unusual behaviors when it occurs. And don't forget that our bunny existence vanished already two years ago in the eyes of the public. With the help of Witness Protection Program, she should be safe." 

That was the last thing they talked about before Jinyoung decides to leave the chief to continue working and for him to go back do his job as well.

Yoo Jeongyeon is living with other officers in the same complex and every room is shared by two people. She entered her room and left the folder on her desk. then she pulled one of her bags and started to pack the essential in it. 

After packing all she wants and grabbing her gun putting it under her shirt in the back, she sat down on the edge of her bed looking at the folder in front of her. 

She took the folder and opened it trying to read the case carefully before she heads to the target house. While reading every single detail, her hands where clenching on the papers. It makes her remember what happened to her best friend two years ago.

[Jeongyeon POV]

While reading these files, I couldn't help but think of my best friend that used to run around my eyes with her big bunny smile two years ago. This world that full of ugly souls that care only about wealth and power. Because of them, I lost the most precious person in my entire life and lost my happiness with it.

Look at this, now another person is involved in this ridiculous bitter reality. 'Son Chaeyoung', poor girl, she also lost her parents recently and she has to deal with those people now. I see what's happening here, so they are going after her now that she came back from the US. 

Once...I couldn't save my own friends, but now that I am already aware of the situation, I will make sure this girl will be safe until I catch those people with my hands. And then after that, I will make sure to do everything I can to catch those people who snatched you away from my life. 

I have been working for two years to prove myself. After this mission, I will ask to dig in the case that happened two years ago resulting in the whole family death in one night. I might be able to find some clues. 

But right now, I will make sure to focus on this case in my hand. 

All the stuff I need is packed in my bag and all I need to do is go to the address that's written in the file. 

I stood up to take my stuff and head to the address when suddenly someone entered the room. I looked up and it wasn't other than our team Eagle who looks as cool and mature as ever despite her age. "Hay there, finish work for the day?" She looked at me with her pale figure and gave me a small smile before she replies to my answer. "Not exactly, I bet our chief told you that I am going to be a backup for you in your new mission. And also, I have another mission to start soon along with this one," she said while walking toward me. Then she added, "so I will be following your steps along with the target to make sure that the area is safe while you guard her."

"Roger that. Then I am going to head to the case holder house and I am trusting your instincts our Eagle. If you felt there is something strange going on, don't hesitate to contact me immediately." Jeongyeon said before he starts heading out the door while the Eagle gave a salute to her.

[Going Back to the Bookstore]

Mina finished her shift and changed herself ready to head out. She was kind of hesitating to step out to meet Chaeyoung especially after the unexplainable hug she received from her out of nowhere. But she had to go back home anyway and face it.

She stepped out her locker room scanning the area to see where Chaeyoung is. She had to leave her before because it was busy and had to go back to work and she didn't get the chance to see where she went after that.

After wandering around the library searching for her, she decided to go check the car if it's still in the parking lot or not.

While walking in the parking lot, the car was visible enough to get noticed by Mina. She went directly there when she saw a figure sitting in the car. Looking from the glass, she saw Chaeyoung resting her head with her eyes closed inside the car on the seat. She didn't know what to do upon seeing this picture in front of her. 

She decides to check if the car is open. Taking her steps to the other side of the car, she reached her hands to open the door and surprisingly it did. It seems like she forgot to lock it when she got inside the car. Then she sat beside Chaeyoung and closed the door carefully.

Mina couldn't help but focus her eyes on the small figure resting beside her. She tried to examine her facial expression and start leaning closer toward her face.

[Mina POV]

Her face seems so tired and exhausted, I wonder what actually happened there in the store. When I left her she was okay according to what I have witnessed but that moment when she hugged me tightly in her embrace, it seemed as if she was trying to get rid of something inside her. What could possibly pain you that much Chaengie in this short time? Could it be something related to your parents? 

When I was about to go back to my position I noticed something on Chaeyoung face. I got closer to her face and tried to focus on her eyes, my head is closer now than before to her. 'Are those tears?' My heart tensed upon the painful view, are you crying in your dreams Chaengie? It hurts me seeing her like that. Now how could I leave her after the ten days finish? How could I even pay you and your parents for all the kindness you have given to me until now. 

But no Mina, you can't, no no NO. I can't let anything happen to her as well. I can't make anyone else get hurt again. I don't want to see more people disappearing from my life. I am a bad influence on those people who are around me, I won't allow any further harm. I am sorry Chaeyoung, I am sorry for your parents. I am sorry for being a bad luck in your life but I will have to leave you soon. It's best for both of us and the sooner it is the better so that I don't get attached. I am such a selfish person, I just can't bear more pain.

I looked again into her face, and lift my hands to wipe those tears from her eyes. As soon as my finger touched her skin, I saw Chaeyoung shoot her eyes open grabbing my hands in a speed of light leaving me shocked as most of my body landing on hers just like that awkwardly.

Hello guys, sorry for the short update. I was having a hard time about how to address the rest of the characters as I am pulling different characters into the plot. So I am sorry for the poor storyline. I hope at least it wasn't confusing to you as it only was Cheayoung point of view all that time. So expect me switching it between characters. Please let me know if you felt confused somewhere in the chapter so that I could fix it. 

I thought I am going to leave this story hanging for a longer time, but I listen to a song that pushed me to start writing at least this much to continue on top of it.

I wrote this chapter while listening to a song. It really helped me do some progress to the plot as I was very lost in how to address the new character after the last chapter.
