Reading this was kind of bittersweet for me because Jonghyun reflects where I was when my bday passed. It's a day that holds a lot of anxiety for me for ciuntless reasons. I feel twice as isolated as usual. I feel the heavy distance between me and those who cordially say "happy birthday" but then go on with their lives as if they were a stranger saying "hi" in passing. It's when i feel the dread that another year has drifted by while I reamain..me. And another year hoping it changes, or that the love of my partner can comfort me through it.

And that's exactly what happened. I felt down, reflective, bitter, but he comforted me in my despair. It doesn't ever fix it, but it hurts a lot less to have only one person acknowledge you versus many who abandon you.

This was very well written. I appreciate how raw and exposed it felt. It was honest and I really appreciate that.
