The way he said my name petrified me. When had Jeon Wonwoo started holding so much power over me?

The taller boy smirked, grinning darkly down at me. I glared back, not pleased by his smug attitude. He seemed to be further pleased by my distress.

"Spend time with me." It was not a request, but a command. It was absolutely insulting - who did this punk think he was, ordering me around so?

I pushed him against his chest hard, frustrated by his behavior. Wonwoo caught my wrists and tugged me towards him.

"I love it when you're annoyed," he sneered. Contrary to his evil words, his laughter was soft and gentle. I swallowed, uncomfortable with the small distance between us.

He leaned in even closer so our noses almost touched. I could feel the warmth of his breath against my skin. My face must have been heating up with a mixture of embarrassment and anger because I was starting to get dizzy.

"I hate you," I spat. That caught him off guard. I enjoyed the sight of his composed face slowly twisting in hurt. I took the opportunity to wiggle myself out of his arms.

With Wonwoo stunned in place, I began to leave. But something pulled inside my heart and I couldn't help myself.

"I didn't mean that." Did I even have to explain myself? He was one of my best friends. How could I ever hate him?

Wonwoo stayed silent, deep within his own thoughts. Impatiently, I waited, debating whether or not I should just leave him that way.

But what he said next was not what I expected.

"Do you love me?" he whispered. He looked at me straight in the eye and I could feel my heart pounding against my chest.

"O-Of course--" I started.

He shook his head. "Do you love me, Soonyoung? Do you love me as more than a friend?"
