I'm Yours

Description

You and Donghyuck have been dating for a year and things start to become rocky.

Foreword

Donghyuck x Reader.

When you come to the end of something in your life, you can feel it. It's a gut feeling that ends up washing over your entire body. Sometimes it's not actually what you are thinking but the majority of the time, it is. That's exactly what was happening with you and Donghyuck, the feeling was there and wasn't going away as much as you wanted it to. He was distant, distracted and brutally uninterested in you anymore. It wasn't as if you didn't love him, oh god did you love him, it just felt as if he didn’t anymore. No more spontaneous dates, calls or even texts. The ones that used to give you butterflies just thinking of them. It was bland and plain boring, maybe it was just the relationship getting over the honeymoon phase? But the honeymoon phase wasn't supposed to last a year. It ended in the first few months after you began to argue with him. That's just a part of healthy relationships and you work together to fix it. But not this, it was different.

One day, you had finally had enough of the blunt responses from him and called him after a few hours of hesitation. You clicked the small icon that had a picture from your second date together and pressed the call button. After a few rings he answered.

You: Hello baby, are you busy?

Donghyuck: Um… actually I am. Could we call later?

You: But you were supposed to come over later?

Donghyuck: Oh yeah, I can’t come over sweetheart.

You: Why?

Donghyuck: I have plans.

You: Why didn’t you tell me before? Were you going to wait until you were supposed to come over to tell me? I had a film planned and pizza for us to have.

Donghyuck: Something came up with the boys that I can’t get out of.

You: Oh well, I’ll speak to you later then?

Donghyuck: Yeah. Bye.

*Donghyuck ends the call*

You sat back in the small chair, looking to the ceiling and sighing loudly. Why was he being this way? It was so out of character for him. Usually he would tell you a day in advance if he couldn’t make it to yours one night. A few hours before or even the time he was intended on arriving was just so odd. Plucking up the courage to sort this out and hopefully fix your relationship, you made the hasty decision to visit his dorm to see if he was there. You grabbed your keys and tied up your hair loosely then headed to the bus stop. The journey was long, full of different scenarios going through your head mixed with the groaning engine of the bus. You have never doubted Donghyuk’s loyalty till now and as much as you did not want to think about the possibility of him cheating it was very prominent in your mind.

The bus stopped near enough to his dorms, butterflies built up in your stomach and this time it wasn’t the good type. You got to the door and contemplated going home and just calling him later.

“No, you’re going to find out what's happening so he can't walk all over you anymore” you whispered to yourself as you set up to knock. Before you knew it your hand was hitting on the door. After a short while someone opened the door and stared at you with a look of surprise.

“y/n? What are you doing here? Hyuck said you were sick?” Taeyong said with a hint of confusion in his voice.

“Um actually I’m not sick… Not sure why he would lie to you. Have you seen him?” You said angrily.

“Yeah he's in his room why-” before Taeyong could finish you pushed past him into the dorm. You knew your way around very well so you headed straight for Donghyuck’s room. Without hesitation you busted in. It was dark and had a small glimmer of light coming from behind the bed. Admittedly it was not the sight you had expected but you let a sigh of relief out nonetheless. You slowly creeped your way around the bed to see Donghyuck staring at a completely white phone screen. His expression seemed to be blank from what you could see in the small amount of light.

“Hyuck, baby. What are you doing?” you said very calmly.

“Its not working…” he replied in a small voice.

“What's not working?”

“This thing, its not working.”

“What did you do, drop it? I’m sure we could go and-”

“No, not that. This, us, everything, me.”

You couldn’t really believe what you were hearing. Was he really breaking up with you after a year of good memories. He stood up to face you and reached for the light on the wall. When the light you could see his tear stained face. His eyes were red and swollen, it was something you had never really seen before. The only other time you had seen him cry was when he let out a manly tear when you had got into the school you had dreamed of going to. The two of you had spent a whole month preparing you for the entrance exam and when you passed and got in, he was so proud.

As you tried to process his words, you could hear the hussle of the other members outside. How were you going to walk out and explain this, you could feel the embarrassment bubbling inside even before you had to do it.

“So were over? All of this, all of us, thrown away? Am I not good enough for you anymore? Am I not what you want? Sorry I’m not like all the girls you interact with, you think I don't see the way you look at them. Ugh! With their perfect skin and perfect hair! Why can’t I be more like them? Maybe you would like me more huh?” you were progressively getting angrier than you intended with every word you said. You could feel your face heating up in what was a mixture of anger, embarrassment and pain. Whilst you spewed the angry rage at him, his expression remained blank which annoyed you more.

“Why are you just standing there? Allowing me to get worked up like this? Do i mean nothing to you any more? For goodness sake Donghyuck just say something please!” you finally got out after a few seconds of wiping away the hot tears that were stinging your face. You desperately wanted him to say something, even one word, to just make you feel as if you weren't insane. Suddenly, you felt a pair of hands on your shoulders, dragging you from the intense atmosphere into a more calm and welcoming place.

You were sat down on the dorm couch by a warm face that had a small smile. Jaehyun looked at you softly as you were crying more than you had done in a while. He crouched in front of you for a bit and held your hands as you cried out your sadness. He waited patiently till you had finished and then asked you wanted a hot drink. As Jaehyun was away, you could hear a familiar voice raising slowly mixed with the voices of two other males. Donghyuck was arguing with Yuta and Taeil in his room. You didn't want to hear what he was saying so you covered your ears and tried to hide yourself from everything.

“Here you go y/n. Now do you want to speak about what happened?” he said softy. As much as you appreciated his kindness, you really didn't want to bring up your previous rage. You shook your head slightly and he let out a acknowledging sigh.

“Donghyuck isn't a bad guy, he's just struggling a bit at the moment. The way he went about dealing with this was not the best way but he did have good intentions. He would never want to hurt you but he just doesn't want to put his feelings onto you. He loves you a lot.” Jaehyun said after a few minutes of you sipping on your drink. If he really did love you, he would tell you his worries and the two of you would work it out together. If he didn't want to hurt you, why would he be so blunt and hurt you anyway. Everything became quiet and Jaehyun got up. You assumed he went to speak to Yuta and Taeil, so you stayed where you were.

You heard feet come from behind you and all the way to stand in front of you. As you were looking down, you couldn't officially identify the person in front of you. But you recognised the shoes immediately knew it was him. He stood their for a while as if you owed him an apology.

“What do you want from me? Haven't you hurt me enough tonight and coming here isn't going to make it any better. Do you want me to leave? I’ll gladly do it, I don't want to be here with you.” you snapped at him.

“Y/n stand up.” he said bluntly again.

“Why? So you can make fun of me whilst you kick me out?” you replied.

“Come here.”

“Why? Why would you want me anyw-”

“Y/n be quiet and come here.”

You slowly and hesitantly moved towards him and as soon as you were in reaching distance he pulled you into a hug. His scent was heavenly to you, something you had missed and regretted not reminiscing before he tried to end it. He was warm, welcoming and soft. Just as he was before. Your stomach was doing summersaults as he held you so close. After a few minutes of standing and hugging, he pulled away and looked into your eyes.

“I’m not going to stand here and say that I want you to forgive me for everything I’ve done. But I would like you to help me out and we can start again. I’m sorry for the way I treated you sweetheart, I never meant to hurt you the way I did. I just went into shut down and couldn't cope anymore. I don't want to put all my worries and feelings onto you but if your willing to help me out, I promise to try and make everything better for us. I’ll treat you even more like the princess you are. Please? I love you y/n.” he finally said with sincerity in his voice. Your eyes must have filed with all the love you felt was missing before because he gave you a small and happy smile in return. He was back, the boy you had fallen in love with so long. He lent in a pressed a soft kiss on your lips and rested his head on your forehead.

“I’m yours baby.” he whispered.

Loud shouting could be heard from the doorway from what you could only assume from the voice being Yuta.

“Consider me the master of love. I fixed this you know? I fixed this with the help of my brains and wit. You have me to thank y/n” he said very proudy. You giggled and looked as Donghyuck did to. He really was yours after all.
