My head hurts and so the sides on my ribs. Even breathing is hard. I think i broke my ribs.

Damn bastards!

I slowly open my eyes, trying to adjust to the surrounding. Faint yellow light illuminating the room.

Seems like they left me here all alone.

I tried moving my hands and feet but i can't. I look down and saw that the thugs tied me down with thick rope on a chair. I squirm, trying to loosen the ties but to no avail.

I need something sharp.

I look around the room looking for something to use to cut these restraints.

The room they placed me is like a an abandoned rice milling house. The machines used to mill rice are there at the corner, rusty and full of dust. There are some sacks and hays scattered on the floor. On the farthest left corner, there's a small table and few chairs around it. But what interest me the most is the thing on the table.

Glass bottles of beer. Bingo.

I tried to move but my feet is stock. The rope binding my legs on the chair is to tight.

Nghh. Come on. Loosen up!

Before i could even succeed in what i'm doing, i heard a small clicking noise.

What was that?

I frantically look around. Calming my thundering heartbeats.

Is it just my imagination?

Click.

There. On the left! As if on cue, the window on the left side opened and revealed a person covered in a clothe similar to a ninja.. Only the eyes and fingers were visible.

My eyes widen. "Who-" i stopped my question when the person raised his hand. He put a finger on his mask, asking me to stay silent, then he pointed the door.

I narrowed my eyes in confusion but glance at the door and concentrate. I heard muffled voices outside.

My captors! Tch. They're just outside i see. If i tried to move my chair would creak or if i broke the beer bottle, the bastards would still be alerted. I sighed. So much planning to escape.

I look at the person again. The 'ninja' entered the room thru the small window.

He must be slim to fit in there.

The ninja successfully managed to get inside. He jumped gracefully landing on a small stock of hay with a soft thud, almost nonexistent sound. Slowly he tiptoed towards me. I watch his every move so when his right hand raised above his head like he was reaching something behind his back my eyes widen.

His hand reached and pulled a small katana. He raised and and aimed to slice me.

He's going to kill me! This is it! I'm going to die!

He swing the katana.

I held my breath and shut my eyes immediately.

Swish!

I involuntarily produced a small squeaking sound and jumped to little on my seat.

I felt the ropes binding me loosen. I opened my eyes and saw that it's slashed.

I can now freely move!

The ninja then slice the rope on my leg. I stood up and face him.

"Thank you."

He nodded.

"By the way, who are you? Did the old man sent you?"

He shook his head. He pointed the window, gesturing me to move and go out thru the window.

I nodded despite the many questions swirling in my head, i followed him. But we have only walk a few steps when the door opened and revealed the thugs who kidnapped me.

Their eyes settled on us and they shouted. "Hey!"

I stepped back. This is it. We're going to get killed. Not just me but two lives will be ended tonight. I glance at the ninja and noticed that instead of backing away, he stood in front of me. Protecting me from bastards who is approaching us.

He stand in a fighting stance holding two short katana.

When did he unsheath the other one? And how the hell is he going to fight men with guns?! 

I count the thugs surrounding us. 3 men with guns and 2 without but they held a long steel rod.

"Who are you!? Who sent you here? Drop your weapons or die!"

My companion didn't move. Like he was calculating every thugs' moves.

"Huh! Then die!"

The man fired his gun aiming the girl but the ninja dodged it gracefully like it was nothing.

"What the?"

The man together with the other two fired again and again but the ninja moves dodging the bullets like he was just dancing. Right. Left. Right. When the man tried to shot his leg he back flip two times. When the last bullet was fired the ninja surprisingly cut deflect it with his katana.

The bastards's eyes and mine were all wide staring at the amazing creature standing there looking relax like he wasn't just dodging bullets that could kill him awhile ago.

How.. How the hell did he do that!? Is it that even possible?

The thugs seemed to recover from the shock and they advance to the ninja with steel rods on their hands.

Stupid. You're only going to get killed.

They raised the rods aiming the ninja but the ninja easily dodge their attact and sliced the rods.

The bastards used the rods to try and stab the ninja but before they could scratch even the ninja's clothes, their hands were already sliced off their body. Blood sputtered on their faces and a sscream full of pain echoed thru the room.

"Ahhhhhhh!!"

Legs and arms were severed but none of it were enough to kill you on the spot.

I can clearly say that the man is trying not to slash any vital parts to not kill them. But if they don't get immediate care, they would surely die because of blood lost.

I was so enchanted to the ninja's gracefulness that i didn't immediately notice a thugs silently approaching me.

Thanks to my reflexes, i managed to dodge the thug's attact who's trying to smash me with a rod. The bastard tried again so i raised my hands to stop his hands.

Me and the man gritted our own teeth, exerting all our energy - me protecting myself - him trying to kill me.

And of course, for bloody sake, the pain on my side intensified and i felt a bone poke my lungs causing me to sputter blood and lose my hold on the steel. The thug used it as opportunity to strike me but before he could succeed, a blade suddenly stabbed him from the back passing thru his chest. The thug let go of the rug and slump dead on the floor. Clutching my side, i saw the ninja standing beside the dead man's body pulling the blade from the man's body.

I looked around and saw that he was able to defeat my captors. He went to my side and slung my arms on his neck then put his arms around my waist. He helped me stood up and guide me outside the door.

The outside is an open field. The man gave me a phone with spots of blood.

A little bit hesitant, i reached for the phone and immediately called my grandfather. They say that they are already on their way. They started asking questions but i didn't answer instead i end the call. I have no energy to narrate everytging anymore. Its hard to breathe and i think blood is already filling my lungs.

I glanced at the ninja and saw that he already sheathed his swords.

"You said that you're not my old man's soldier, so why did you save me?"

He looked at me with calculating eyes.

He saved me so i trust him. Besides, i felt safe with him.

"I asked you so speak." i said with air of superiority. 

HE sighed. The moment he spoke i was surprised.

"Because i want to."

"Y-your a woman?"

She snorted. "Yes."

"i t-thought.. How do you know where i am?"

"Sources."

"Why did yo save me?"

"I already told you."

"But that doesn't explain anything."

"I saved you because i owe someone who holds you dear."

"Who?"

She doesn't spoke.

I sighed. "Who are you then?"

"You don't need to know. I'll be going now. Your grandfather is already near."

She turned but i grabbed her clothe.

"Please. I want to know the name who save me."

She sighed.  "Just call me Rose."

"Rose." I repeat in in whisper.

With one last glance she went away blending on the shadows where the only light that illuminates the field is the light coming from the moon in the sky filled with dots of stars.

"Thank you." I whispered on the wind.
