Description

Aliyah lives in a small city in California. Nothing ever happens there. Imagine her surprise when she goes to her local boba shop on New Year's Eve and sees Joshua Hong from Seventeen there. Is it fate, or just a quick fan meeting?

Foreword

Going for a boba run for my family? Not exactly quite how I pictured I would be spending my New Year's Eve. It's not like it's late, it's barely 3 and we aren't leaving to my mom's friends' house until 6. As of now, I was wearing black leggings, and an oversized pink hoodie. I still had quite a bit of time left to get ready before I dress too formal to be walking around the living room. I figured that I would have still been at home relaxing, taking my time to get ready. Instead, I'm on my way to our local boba shop.

I finally arrived to the boba shop, Bubble for You. I was about to turn off my car when "Don't Wanna Cry" by Seventeen started playing. Okay, maybe I'll wait just a little until this song was over. Seventeen was my favorite K-pop group. Joshua was my favorite member. There was just something about him, along with his cute smile, that stood out to me from the rest...

The song finally ended, and I turned off my car. I grabbed my purse, locked my car, and made my way towards the boba shop. The thought of drinking a jasmine milk tea boba was already making my mouth water. Mom wanted a chocolate milk tea boba, dad wanted a taro milk tea boba, and my brother Malachi wanted a strawberry milk tea. Got it. I ordered the drinks then took a seat at one of the tables and went on my phone. The store bell rung, meaning someone had walked in, but I didn't bother looking up from my phone.

"Thank you so much" a voice said. Huh, that voice sounds so familiar, but no it couldn't be...

I decided to look up to see who that voice belonged to, and I could not believe my eyes. That voice belonged to none other than Joshua from Seventeen. I looked away, then looked again. Yeah, that was definitely him. I recognize that pink hair from their "Clap" comeback, those eyes, those beautiful lips... okay confirmed, it's him. He was sitting down at the table next to me, just one seat away. Should I say "Hi?" Should I try to talk to him? I never would have imagined he would be in my boring town. After a few seconds of deciding what to do, I decided to go say "Hi." That never hurt anyone. I took a deep breath, and turned around to face him.

"Um, hi. You're Joshua from Seventeen correct?" I said, feeling my cheeks slowly turn pink. Gosh I regret this so much.

He looked up from his phone and gave me a sweet smile, "Yes I am. Are you a fan?"

"Yeah I am. I love your music."

"Thank you so much! It's always nice to meet you guys" he said still smiling, looking at me straight in the eyes.

"I have a quick question: what are you doing in this city? No offense at all! I'm just curious because no one famous ever comes here" I said asking the question that has been in my mind since I saw him.

"Oh well one of my aunts actually lives here and I'm spending the New Year's with her. I'm going to be here for about a month since we're on break right now." He said smiling.

"Aliyah, your boba is ready" Linda, who owns the boba shop, called out.

I got up and went to get them, being thankful they were in a tray.

My attention then went back to Joshua, "Well, hopefully I'll see you around again before you leave. It was amazing meeting you Joshua." I smiled at him.

I started walking out, but not before hearing him say "It was nice meeting you too Aliyah."

And that's how I met Joshua from Seventeen.
