Summary:
One hot summer day, Ong Seongwoo is out for lunch, escaping and then down-right skipping his mundane office job. He explores the park, gets lunch, sits on a bench near the lake when he's frightened by a monstrous ball of fluff. Luckily, the fluff monster turns out to be a white, playful, sweet marshmallow of a dog. He gets attached to the dog, oddly feeling so in tune with the dog that he can read his mind and emotions as if the animal were telepathically talking to him. When meeting the owners, he discovers that the dog is one of those rare shifters hiding out in the human world that had recently been revealing themselves to the public, hoping to co-exist in harmony. Since he's an open-minded person and has experience with meeting some likely shifters before, he doesn't freak out about it. Seongwoo finds the dog shifter sweet and funny and he's willing to help them out and make some new friends.
Daniel is a dog shifter who feels insecure in his human form. He tends to stay in his dog form which is more comfortable and he avoids humans because he doesn't real like them. However, as he gets older his friends grow concerned. They have many mouths to feed and surviving in the human world is no easy feat for a group of young shifters. They want Daniel to interact with humans and get a job to help them pay all the bills. However, Daniel is convinced that his human form is ugly and he's uncomfortable interacting with humans. Jinyoung and Daehwi discover that he is oddly attached and comfortable with Seongwoo like no other human he's ever been with, so they suggest meeting in a cafe in human form, hoping that Seongwoo will give the shifter a compliment that will finally instill confidence in his human form. Because he's not ugly in the least but Daniel won't believe them.
This is the short story of a cute puppy love romance that shows love at first sight can extend even beyond human-human interactions and how two boys change each other's lives for the better.
Characters:
Ong Seongwoo: Twenty-five years old. Born and raised in Seoul. Studied accounting and works in a cubicle at an accounting firm where he never sees the light of day. He hates his job and he's bored with his life. He finds the shifters and the shifter world fascinating and secretly has wished to become friends with some so he could learn about it. He's currently single because he doesn't have the time to date but he's an experienced, open gay man. He has a tendency to exaggerate and over-react and he goes weak in the knees for anything cute. He's an animal lover. He's also funny, sweet, kind and friendly. Daniel in human form is his ideal type, especially when Daniel acts possessive and forward.
Kang Daniel: Dog shifter, human age is twenty-four years old which is just old enough in dog shifter years to start mating. He's in his prime which means he's good looking, fit, full of energy, strong, hot-tempered, impulsive. He doesn't like his human form because he thinks he's ugly so he stays mostly in his dog form, which is why he doesn't know much about humans or the human world. He's always bright, smiling, laughs easily, acts silly, and often moving. With his friends, he's noisy, sweet, cute, playful, and affectionate but to most human strangers he's shy, quiet, aloof, intimidating, or even threatening. He has a soft spot for being scratched, kisses or hugs, and food. He finds Seongwoo to be an adorable person he wants to please, cherish, and protect.
Wanna One members as minor characters or cameos. Relationships likely to be like in Pawprints, if any.
Author's Note:
This story is a spin-off idea that came from my original shifter wanna one au story called Pawprints. If you haven't read it I suggest you will because there are more explanations of the shifter world before it became public. Also, it's just a good, long, fluffy, comical, romantic read. Can you really have enough animal shifters in your life? haha. I used part of this as an epilogue in that story and I just fell in love with the idea of an unhappy businessman Seongwoo who had his whole life changed by puppy version of Daniel and a dog shifter that is scared of being human learning how and gaining confidence in himself from the businessman who adores him. There will be a bit of in this but it's mostly just comical fluffy non-sense. There will not be much in terms of plot, rather it's a series of moments that bring the couple closer, change them for the better, and show they're amazing chemistry. This story will not have any angst(my only story that doesn't). Wanna One members will all be here as minor characters and cameos, I hope you understand. Otherwise this story would be another giant and I don't want to tackle another one of those.

Foreword
"Hello? Please don't eat me if you understand what I'm saying, monster..."
The strange, cotton-looking blob moved again, shaking it's body a bit this time. Seongwoo gulped and shook, feeling terrified. If that was really a dog, it was massive. He only hoped it wasn't a polar bear escaped from the zoo. He held his breath and tensed, ready to run if deemed necessary for survival. He wasn't usually scared of animals, but he couldn't say he was fond of them. That was merely a result of growing up in the city and having parents that were clean obsessed as well as allergic to pet hair and dust.
A head and large white paws poked out. It was a dog, a big, fluffy, friendly looking one. He sighed in relief. No monsters out to get him today at least.
"Hello there. It's hot, right? I bet that fur is even more torture than my suit," he said sympathetically and waved to the animal.
He barked as if in greeting. Seongwoo smiled and looked at him. He had large black eyes that appeared kind and sparkled with mischief, white fluffy upright ears, a sparkling thick coat slightly dirtier with leaves and dirt. He appeared to be smiling as he panted from the insufferable heat, his pink tongue showing.
"Come here~" Seongwoo clicked his tongue, calling sweetly and patting his thigh.
The large white dog closed his mouth and cocked his head, his fluffy, pointy ears going forward. It was a look of curiosity and concentration. He was trying to guess what Seongwoo wanted from him.
Seongwoo beckoned and called again for him to come over, sounding sweeter. He wasn't sure if the way he would talk to his nieces would work the same for animals. Luckily, it did. The dog climbed out of the bush with an excited bark and trotted over to him.
"Wow, you're huge! I bet you weigh more than I do!" Seongwoo gasped and stood up, worried the dog would tackle him.
Was he actually a wolf? What kind of dog was this humongous? The dog was tall and bulky, seeming twice as large with his several inches thick layer of poofy, snow white fur. He came up nearly to Seongwoo's waistline. He was so broad in the chest it looked like it would be impossible to fully hug him.
The dog smiled up at him and barked again, wagging its long, fluffy, curled tail that could knock down a small tree. 'Pet me! You called me over, I came. That means I deserve a payment. Pay me in pets please' he seemed to be saying.
Seongwoo gulped and reached a shaking hand out to the area between his velvety, twitching ears. The dog stamped his paw and barked, sounding impatient and frustrated.
"Okay, okay. I'll pet you. Don't move. Please don't bite me. Your size is quite intimidating," Seongwoo squeaked, trying to sound calm.
He looked around to make sure no one was seeing him being a baby about petting a friendly animal just because it was a big one. Then, he put his hand on top of the dog's head and froze. The dog didn't move, as if he understood. 'See? I'm not going to bite. I'm friendly and listen well.' He seemed to say, his dark eyes sparkling with kind smugness.
"Indeed you do. You're really soft...Wait, why am I talking to you as if I understand what you're thinking? I think the heat is getting at me."
