세븐틴 12 Gates to Heaven

 

The devil had returned! Thank goodness. Now it’s not time to worry about Jeonghan, but for the youngest Chinese member.

 

On the day of their live performances, Jeonghan was still worried about Minghao’s back, and asked him to have his check-up.

 

For some reason, after their comeback performance, The8’s back pain caused him so much trouble. The boy’s back was in terrible discomfort that he couldn’t move a single muscle anymore. Their fairy was trying to conceal it, but the time when they were asked to practice again, he accidentally revealed what pain he had been suffering from the past few days.

 

        Minghao thought that his back pain would be okay if he’d rest it. Unfortunately, he had no time to do it. He still continued moving despite his back pain because he wanted to participate in their performances.

 

        While they were practicing, Hoshi and Jun noticed that The8 was not in his best condition and asked him why. The8 stated that his back was aching since their concert, but sometimes it would come and go.

 

        Hoshi scolded him for not telling them his condition. He told the poor sick fairy that if he’d continue doing that, his health would be at stake. After hearing Soon Young’s high voice, sounds like reprimanding somebody, the others gathered.

 

Seungcheol:

Why?

What’s wrong?

 

Soon Young:

His back aches for days but he kept it a secret.

 

The8:

Sorry, hyung.

I didn’t mean to trouble you.

 

Jeonghan:

Have a check-up, Minghao ya.

I already told you that right?

 

The8:

Yes, hyung.

(He bowed his head)

 

Jun:

Would you like me to accompany you?

 

The8:

Thanks.

 

Joshua:

If you need something, just call us.

(He sat and asked more about how he felt)

Can you stand up?

 

The8:

Yeah.

(With a weak voice while holding his back.)

 

Jeonghan:

(Held The8’s back)

The8:

No, hyung. You must rest.

(He smiled)

-Inside the Hospital-

 

        The doctor inspected Minghao’s back and Jun was there to listen as well. The doctor explained that his muscles were swelling due to the force he might be exerting that involves his back; moreover, he recommended him to rest. He also asked if he had previous injury at the back, so he could identify what to do.

 

        The8 remembered nothing, but Jun did. He remembered that Minghao was brought to the hospital because of the injury he acquired when Jeonghan had his first heart attack.

 

The8:

Oh!

But that’s not a major injury, though.

 

Jun:

But it’s still an injury.

Remember? You are advised to rest too.

And it’s on your lower back too.

(With his eyes, wide open to confirm)

 

The8:

Yeah, but I don’t think it’s because of that.

That’s so long ago.

 

Jun:

Yeah…

Hmmm… but anyway, he just asked.

 

Doctor:

Can you tell me what happened?

 

Jun:

He was hit by a pole on his back and that includes his lower back, doc.

 

Doctor:

For how long had it been since it happened?

 

Jun:

Almost a year?

Doctor:

And your activity?

 

The8:

Dancing, doc.

 

Doctor:

I believe you had your check-ups here, right?

Yes, doctor.

 

        The doctor reviewed the file that the nurse gave him and saw that The8’s injury from last time caused a small crack on his spine; nevertheless, he believed that it healed. It’s just that maybe he forced himself and it also affects his muscles.

 

Doctor:

(He closed the record)

Young man, I believe you are forcing your body in practice.

I advise that you have a proper rest and…

(Writing a prescription for his back pain)

Drink this when you cannot take the pain anymore.

Let us have your x-ray again, so we can re assure that your fracture is not the cause.

(He was worried and, at the same time, disappointed of himself)

        They had to come back after 2 days for the result and because of their schedule too.

 

        The8 and Jun were riding their van on their way home, when the older ones noticed that Minghao was frowning in disappointment, he immediately comforted him.

 

Jun:

Hey…

Don’t think too much, buddy.

 

The8:

I’m really disappointed, hyung.

(He scowled)

 

Jun:

Why?

Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.

Just rest and I think, that’s because you exercise a lot to get your abs.

(He giggled)

You are getting muscles, but you are so thin already.

        Jun bought food first before they went home.

And a rest for a while is better than getting disabled for the rest of your life, right?

        The8 had no choice but to show his dazzling and cute smile and at least took Jun’s advice and be happy, since his health is more important rather than getting injured and not able to dance for the rest of his life.

 

The8:

        The8 ran fast carrying big boxes of pizza on his hands. The China line barged in to their house and disturbed their sleeping precious people on their beds and anywhere they could lie down their poor bodies just to invite them for a snack.

 

        Jun and The8 rampage the whole house loudly calling their names one by one when the smell of pizza did not wake them up.

 

        The boys were terribly disturbed and they were not in a good mood, especially Jihoon, who stared at them sternly with his fiery eyes.

 

Jihoon:

I’ll kill you.

 

Mingyu:

What’s up with you two?

 

Seungkwan:

What’s gotten into you?

 

        Later on, Vernon and Dino and Hoshi were driven by the smell of their delicious pizza on their living room.

 

Hoshi:

Whose pizza are those?

(Pointed at the food with his wide excited eyes)

 

The8:

Jun hyung treat us because he teased me a lot.

 

DK:

Alright!

Thank you Jun hyung!

You are the best!

(Put a loud smooch on Jun’s cheeks.)

Can I have now?

 

Seungkwan:

Me too!

 

Dino:

Something’s missing!

 

Jun:

What?!

 

DK:

(An imaginary light bulb appeared)

The8:

(He giggled)

Oh yeah, right!

Jun:

(He laughed)

        The boys clapped never to fail their genius choreographer.

 

Seungcheol:

(He got his wallet)

Buy some tteokbokki too!

 

Joshua:

Cheol, mozzarella please.

(He pouted)

 

Jeonghan:

Yeah!

(He second the motion)

 

Cheol:

(He sighed)

        The boys contributed small amounts as well, for them to buy some additional food for their feast. Then immediately, Hoshi and Mingyu went out to buy what’s missing in their buffet.

 

        The prince and the hamster returned the soonest as possible, and that caused them sweating and panting while carrying the food they bought.

 

        Diiing Dooong~

 

        Sebongs were surprised upon their immediate arrival. They returned super fast! It’s like they just bought the goods from their neighbour.

 

        Dino opened the door and was surprised that they were sweating so hard despite the cold temperature of autumn.

 

Dino:

Hyung!

(He laughed)

What are you doing?

You are sweating a lot!

Is it summer?

(He teased)

 

Soon Young:

Ya…

(Pant)

Don’t you belittle our speed!

(Pant)

Aigoo…

(With his tired body going in their dorm)

 

        The boys laughed when they saw the boys crawling on the floor.

 

Seungcheol:

Yah! Why did you hurry?!

There’s nothing to hurry, imma!

And the cola! Tsk! It will burst since you ran!!!

(He scolded)

 

Mingyu:

There is hyung!

(He’s panting)

The pizza!

 

Hoshi:

We are assuming that you are already feasting on it and nothing’s gonna left when we come back.

 

        They all giggled and thought that what they told could be possible, but they were wrong that time. They saw the pizza sealed and they were glad.

 

Mingyu:

Thank goodness you gained hearts now.

(He said in relief)

 

Hoshi:

Alright!

Seungkwanie, DK, Dino… get the ice and our mugs!

It’s time to party!

 

        No whining and no question asked. The boys ran as fast as they could and gather their mugs/ glass to the living room, while Mingyu and Jun was reheating the tteokbokki with the mozzarella, and the others were sitting and waiting for the boys to serve their complete meal while scanning those were left in the plastic bag.

 

        Upon scanning, they saw rolls of kimbap, bread, and ice cream. Oh well, ice cream is their thing during winter and no one can stop them!

 

        So, anyway, on the table was served 3 big pizza boxes sliced in box, so they could share more; a bloody red tteokbokki that looked dangerously spicy with a mouth-watering mozzarella cheese on top; a cola; an ice cream; kimbap rolls equally sliced on a foil; odeng; and ramyeon! Who knew that their contribution would buy them that plenty?

 

        The boys toast and ate merrily as always.

 

Jeonghan:

So, what happened?

 

The8:

The doctor said that I should refrain working out too much.

 

Hoshi:

Can you perform?

 

The8:

But not as powerful as before, I assume.

 

Jun:

And no exercise!

(He take note which The8 found depressing)

 

Jeonghan:

Oh!

Alright.

But will you go back for another consultation?

Ya’ have meds?

 

The8:

Yeah. Need to see my x-ray… and he gave me pain reliever.

(He smiled)

 

Jeonghan:

Poor fairy.

But you can do it!

Just take your doctor’s advice.

(He giggled)

So, you can join me getting some fats.

 

The8:

(He giggled)

Seungcheol:

Okay… so let’s just enjoy the performance.

Hey… guys, for our MAMA performance, we will have a joined performance with our sunbaenims. Behave!

I’m still arranging the song with Bumzu hyung.

        They talk, laugh, ran widely, and tease the whole time they were eating, that’s why they didn’t know if they really ate or what since they were consuming everything when they fool around; nevertheless, they could feel the hype and the joy.

 

The boys were savage that day.

Dinner was treated by their extravagant boss, Mr. Yo Han and gifts were delivered to them one by one. The box was filled with expensive rings and bracelets, but only one person got a complete set which includes a necklace and a small watch- It was given to Jeonghan personally.

 

Vernon and DK had a bad feeling on the way Yo Han puts his attention to their angelic hyung; moreover, they were more worried that their members were getting more comfortable with him, especially Seungkwanie- their cute and super friendly boy. He’s very charming and all knew that. They were afraid that Yo Han might get his interest on him too.

 

One moment, Vernon was worried about his friend, and gave a signal – particularly with his eyes glaring at him saying that he should stop being friendly right now! Immediately, Seungkwan behaved as he got those message with those sharp hazel eyes.

 

Dang! Vernon was truly protective.

 

-SEBONG’S DORM-

 

        Right after they went in, the two best of friends talked to each other.

 

Vernon:

Hey, you shouldn’t fall for that man.

 

Seungkwan:

Who says I am falling for him?

(He said teasingly)

I am falling for somebody else.

 

He said jokingly with a manly voice trying to tease Vernon; However, Vernon’s reaction seemed so terrible and so he stopped his silly teasing.

 

Vernon:

Look, I’m serious here.

He’s a dangerous man.

I know he’s up to something.

 

Seungkwan:

I get you.

I’ll be cautious next time.

I’m sorry.

But don’t you think, you are just over reacting?

 

Vernon:

No, Seungkwan.

I can feel it.

(He wore a serious face)

Especially when he’s looking at Jeonghan hyung. And to you too and to Joshua hyung too. And lately, he’s eyeing for Mingyu hyung too, even Jun hyung!

 

Seungkwan:

Vernon:

Yeah. I have been noticing it since we started filming.

 

Seungkwan:

(He laughed as if he’s talking it as a joke)

 

Vernon:

(Got irritated)

(Called him with a serious tone)

(Frowning his eye brow)

Coz lately, I think, Jeonghan hyung was having a meeting with the boss alone. I don’t know why? Maybe because of his sickness… but one time, I was with him and we were supposed to meet the CEO, and it happened to be that he was there. He looked at Jeonghan hyung with so much grinning as if he wanted him badly.

 

Seungkwan:

Is that so?

 

Vernon:

I have been telling you the whole time ever since we met him.

 

Seungkwan:

Then, he must be dangerous.

 

        Vernon felt hopeless, but at least he had said it. and hopefully, Seungkwan understands.

 

        One moment, a loud voice halted every actions the Sebongs were doing, and it was coming from their general leader, Seungcheol. His tone was very irritated.

 

        And since it was alarming for Coups to shout like that out of nowhere, Sebongs rushed to their living room and found out that he was talking to their manager over the phone.

 

Seungcheol:

No! Hyung, you don’t understand okay?

He’s not going alone, especially when it’s that Yo Han thing.

I won’t allow it!

 

        As Seungcheol had been noticing lately that Yo Han had been calling Jeonghan often; though, he wasn’t sure of what the reason was. He felt that it’s not just right. Besides, he’s been noticing that Yo Han’s attention was more on Jeonghan. He keeps inviting him when he was aware that Jeonghan needed rest; moreover, he shouldn’t be guesting alone with that what he called ‘promotion’ campaigns. Yo Han knew about how dangerous Jeonghan’s condition was and his presence was not enough to rescue him if something happens because he doesn’t know the protocols if his seizures occurs. And… wasn’t it weird when he only invites Jeonghan to represent the whole group, when there were 13 of them?!

 

        Seungcheol was not envious about it. Like hell. He’d rather rest at home than socializing, but since he’s been noticing that Jeonghan was always- maybe his only option- on his list. And sometimes, maybe for them not to find out that he’s totally aiming for Jeonghan, his combination would go Jeonghan and Joshua; Jeonghan and Mingyu; Jeonghan and Jun; Jeonghan and Ren; Jeonghan and Seungkwan; but lately he’s inviting Wonwoo with Jeonghan too. Wasn’t that so strange? He could arrange another duo. Even trio if he wanted.

 

Seungcheol was just concern on how their Yo Han boss’ mind works. And now, that American boss was asking Jeonghan ALONE in his family gathering to host?!

 

Some things were really strange… and as a leader, Seungcheol needs to protect s.

 

 

        On the contrary, Jeonghan was worried about it too. Good thing Seungcheol wasn’t allowing him to go to that party. Who knows if something bad happened?

 

Seungcheol:

Hyung, tell him that we are busy and Jeonghan needs a rest.

What was he thinking?!

(With an irritated tone)

 

Manager:

(He sighed)

Jeonghan was asked if he could host a private event for Kim Yo Han’s family affair.

 

Jeonghan:

Thank you for declining, Cheol.

 

Seungcheol:

Is there something going on, Jeonghan?

 

        Was Cheol’s intuition real?

 

Jeonghan:

I am not quite sure, but lately, I’m feeling uncomfortable with him around.

(His facial expression became troubled)

 

Joshua:

Jeonghan:

He had been texting and meeting me lately…

 

Vernon:

That’s because he likes you, hyung.

Better keep a distance.

 

Seungcheol:

Why are you meeting him?

(He frowned his troubled brows)

 

Jeonghan:

Actually, he was with the CEO every time we meet and he’d ask me to have a lunch or dinner afterwards, and I can’t simply decline it because he’s so persistent and he’s a boss.

 

Wonwoo:

Why didn’t you tell us?

 

Jeonghan:

Because at first, I thought it’s just okay… because there are some instance that I am feeling comfortable around him.

 

Jihoon:

But, hyung, why do you have a meeting with the bosses in the first place?

 

Jeonghan:

Actually, I was the one who volunteered to go there because I need to report about my condition to them and tell the updates, but the second time was when they told me that Dr. Eric needs to go with me too.

And… on my birthday, a staff gave me a gift coming from him. And actually even before we started our tour.

…I gave it back to him, but he told me that it was a gift and I didn’t have to be shy.

 

Mingyu:

DK:

(He gritted his teeth)

Hyung, the next time he’d come close to you or if he will invite you for something, please call any of us.

You know, every time I am seeing him looking at you, I feel something really bad and uncomfortable.

I noticed that he’s looking at the other members too. But since he watched the movie, his focus was on Jeonghan hyung.

DK:

Actually hyung, you are one of his interests I noticed before, but now he’s more into Jeonghanie hyung.

But… yeah, I feel awkward around him too; though, I thought he was just feeling comfortable around me because of our language.

 

Seungcheol:

For me… Jeonghan hyung, Joshua hyung, Seungkwan, and Mingyu… sometimes, Jun hyung.

Jun:

Me?!

 

Mingyu:

I thought it’s Wonwoo hyung he’s looking at when we were filming.

 

Wonwoo:

(He felt goosebumps on his skin when Mingyu told it was him.)

Dino:

I can’t even imagine he’s that scary.

 

Seungkwan:

Yeah. Me too.

 

Seungcheol:

I never thought it’s that plenty.

But I think what triggered him was the movie, don’t you think?

 

Joshua:

That’s a serious problem then.

 

Jeonghan:

But, don’t you think it’s just his culture?

 

Joshua:

He’s quite absurd if those desires are really is with him from the very start.

 

        The meeting lasted for an hour, but they thought none on how to solve it. They didn’t know how to answer the private text messages properly, so he just texted that they had to consult their manager first before agreeing.

 

        They boys were terribly worried about that matter and they couldn’t sleep. Cheol managed to calm down his team and leave the discussion tomorrow after another performance.

 

        Fortunately, the next day, their manager said that Jeonghan had this previous engagements and he should not cancel it and so, the case was solved; though, their manager had to make-up some plans for that day for Jeonghan. Poor hyung nim.

 

-DURING THEIR PROMOTIONS-

 

        It was time for their live performances and Sebongs were all hyped up to show what they’ve got -To show that they’re getting better and better- that’s for carats right?

 

As always, it was so exhausting, but hearing their Carat’s cheer made their exhaustion drift away.

 

        The boys were obviously tired, but they had another show to attend too. They knew that their schedule would be full after their comeback. All they had to do was to eat, to rest, and stay healthy, so that nobody would fail. They were taking care of each other and never let one of them get sick.

 

For The8, he had to go back for his consultation after he visited right after their performance.

 

        Minghao was alone that time. And the Doctor said, he had to slow down because he found out that the pain might be related to the incident he had before. So, the physician banned him from moving around too much. Actually, he was advised not to perform, but Minghao asked if he could just perform at least at MAMA.

 

        The doctor allowed him in one condition. That after their MAMA performance, he should rest and was not allowed to do any heavy activities for one month because if something bad happens, or worst, he cannot perform for the rest of his life.

 

        Learning the threat, Minghao agreed.

 

        On the other hand, the boys were taking their time to rest when Seungcheol got a message from their boss and manager that they were having a collaboration performance with Nu’est besides their solo.

 

        Immediately, Seungcheol announced it after The8’s arrival. They huddled, cuddling each other with their naughty tease and actions.

 

Seungcheol:

Alright.

Be prepared, guys… because you all know that we will be performing with a very big crowd. We should never fail!

 

        The children nodded.

 

Seungcheol:

Let’s show them what Pledis talents got!

(He said with excitement, his lower lip)

 

Sebongs:

Alright!

 

        Their little naughty actions became wild after hearing an exciting announcement. Hoshi took the lead of dancing first while the other maknaes followed. The eldest were running out of stamina to dance with full effort, so they chose to stay seated while watching the energetic boys. They just expressed their excitement through their biggest smiles.

        One day, they were all problematic that Jeonghan had to be alone again, due to their busy schedule.

 

        The members were about to leave; however, they couldn’t step their foot out of the dorm because they were worried about Jeonghan; though, some would come back shortly- like Minghao after having his little treatment/ therapy.

 

        Before they go, Dino got an idea. He texted someone he knew he could rely on; though, he wasn’t sure if he was available that day.

 

Dino:

Cheol hyung, I already called someone and he said he’s coming in about 15 minutes.

(He smiled)

 

        His hyungs were so surprised on how their maknae acted.

 

Seungcheol:

Who did you call?

 

Dino:

I hope you will allow him, because he’s the only person I thought of to be left with Jeonghan hyung, so he won’t get bored and I think- I hope that he’s innocent enough not to harm our Jeonghanie hyung.

…

And don’t get mad.

Please?

 

        Their baby Dino was so adorable and Jun pursed his lips and squeezed Dino’s poor cheeks.

 

Dino:

Aw!

Jun hyung!

Why did you pinch me!

That hurts!

(With his scowling face)

 

Jun:

(He laughed)

Our baby is growing fast!

(He teased)

 

Joshua:

(Giggled gently)

(They sighed)

        All laughed.

Well, I guess, he’s the right man.

(He laughed)

Dino:

I’m just worried with myself.

(He sighed)

(With a weak cute tone because he’s again threatened. He thought that he’s a fool inviting his rival inside their premises)
