Twelve minutes. That’s all I have before dad gets back.

One minute late and I am caught before getting grounded and believe me when I say getting grounded in a hospital room is the last thing you want to go through. But by the time I am back, dad will cool off so will mom and no harm will be conflicted on me. Only just a glare and “Aurora, please be careful!”

I tied my sneakers and straightened my skirt before standing up from my bed and heading to the door. Opening the door carefully, I looked to both right and left making sure there weren’t nurses that know me before stepping out of the room and closing the door behind me. I hurried down the hallway and took right to turning when I heard a voice behind me. I turned around without slowing down when I collided with a body.

Startled, I looked back to the front while trying to gain my balance. The foreign body studded me as he held my arms and let go right away.

He was my age. He stared straight to my eyes and I smiled a little. I didn’t have time.

My smile never leaving my face, “Shhh!”  I told him and went out running.
